TV To Feature Former Resident's UFO Video
|
By Rick Myers-Staff Reporter
01/08/2008-WICHITA, Kansas. - Brandon Mowry still doesn't know for sure what
he saw flash across six or seven video frames about six years
ago, but knows for sure it was an unidentified flying object.
Mowry, who attended school in Gering and graduated from Morrill
High School in 1996, worked for the Star-Herald and Gering
Courier while in high school and college, and he became part of
a nationwide mystery because of video footage he shot while a
photojournalist for an Albany, N.Y., television station.
The television photojournalist will be part of the History
Channel's "MonsterQuest" feature on Wednesday at 8 p.m. local
time about Unidentified Flying Creatures.
On Oct. 20, 2002, while working as a photojournalist for FOX 23
News in Albany, NY, Mowry, now almost 30, was at the Albany
International Airport getting weather "bump shots" and
photographing airplanes to use for the evening's weather
segment.
After photographing five or six planes he headed back to the
station and went into the edit bay.
"I really hadn't seen anything unusual," Mowry said during a
recent interview. "I just happened to stop and pause (the video)
and there was this thing that shot through. It was only six or
seven frames, or about a quarter of a second, from the bottom
right to the upper left."
Not knowing what he saw, Mowry said he immediately pulled in the
assignment editor.
"Her mouth dropped," Mowry said.
Immediately the Albany police were called, but Mowry said he had
to go out and cover a car wreck. When he returned the newsroom
had been sectioned off and everybody was being questioned about
the young photojournalist and his honesty.
Even the FBI got involved because of the ongoing security
concerns in the nation. Mowry said he had to return to the
airport and show investigators the location where he shot the
video.
The original video was confiscated and sent to Washington for
analysis.
"They found out it was legitimate," Mowry said. The station had
the foresight to make copies of the original video shot by Mowry
that has made the rounds since, portions of which can be found
on YouTube and on Google by searching for Albany UFO.
Mowry said he continued to be interviewed by the FBI and even
had to undergo an extensive lie detector test, which agents at
first said he had failed but later said he had passed.
"That was one of the strangest and worst days of my life," he
said. "I knew I really didn't do anything. I was just doing my
job and it was on my tape."
Within a short time Mowry was interviewed live on Fox and
Friends and The Early Show with Hannah Storm and then things
kind of died down.
"I even was on the Art Bell radio show in the middle of the
night," he said.
Things kind of died down and Mowry said he didn't hear much for
about five years and he moved on to KSNW, the NBC affiliate in
Wichita, Kan.
"I still don't know and the FBI still hasn't come up with an
explanation of what it was," he said.
Mowry said he heard from a producer at the History Channel that
it was doing a show about "rods" - biological creatures that
supposedly live in the upper atmosphere, and possibly what he
might have captured on the video clip.
According to the History Channel Web site: "For decades cameras
have been capturing images of a flying, torpedo-like creature.
So fast it cannot be seen with the naked eye. Some think it is a
military weapon, others believe it may be a creature from
another dimension. But just what is it? This MonsterQuest
scientific journey will use super high-speed photography,
physics and even a wind tunnel experiment to shed light on a
creature simply referred to as Rods."
MonsterQuest seeks to reveal the truth of legendary monster
sightings around the world. Deploying the latest in hi-tech
equipment, each episode scientifically examines the best
evidence available, from pictures and video, to hair and bones,
as well as the eyewitness accounts themselves.
The History Channel flew Mowry to Albany to shoot reenactments
from shooting the weather footage, the reaction of the
assignment editor and even the interrogation by the FBI.
"I guess I never thought of it as being a living creature,"
Mowry said, "but this is a documentary about rods. I'm curious
to see if my video is the same as the others."
Despite his newfound 15 minutes of fleeting fame, Mowry has his
sights set on a just completed 22-minute documentary from raw
footage on the Greensburg, Kan., tornado that devastated the
small community. He hopes that piece and other work he is doing
will propel him into a top 20 market, such as KUSA Channel 9 in
Denver.
"I was in Greenburg just five hours after it hit," he said.
"That was one of the reasons I was looking forward to coming to
Kansas, was to chase tornados."

UFO Sightings over Worksop
|
Residents report strange objects hovering over town
"At first my husband thought I was seeing things. I said it wasn't fireworks or a police helicopter. They were these strange lights drifting along like a helium balloon"-Jan Harvey of Carlton Road. Worksop By Jen Foster
SEVERAL Worksop residents had a close encounter of the third kind on New Year's Eve with reports of UFOs over the town.
As the champagne corks popped to welcome in the new year some unexplained lights are reported to have been hovering over Worksop skies at about 12.15am.
Jan and John Harvey, of Carlton Road, were getting ready for bed when they looked out the window and saw something they couldn't explain.
"At first my husband thought I was seeing things. I said it wasn't fireworks or a police helicopter. They were these strange lights drifting along like a helium balloon. They were in a line like pearls lined up in a necklace," said Jan.
"There were eight or nine red and white lights. They weren't making any noise and they just disappeared without coming over the houses."
Not convinced that these lights were from alien spaceships, the couple are thinking hard about a more logical explanation:
"We think it was probably something like hot air balloons or hang-gliders. Though our friends all reply with the same answer - 'You obviously had had far too much to drink'. We had not even started then."
Another couple in Gateford told the Guardian about a similar sighting at the same time on the same night.
"I'm not normally one to believe in these things but I am one hundred per cent definite about what I saw that night," she said.
They first noticed something strange in the air when their two cats started behaving strangely.
"The cats were hiding behind the sofa and seemed really spooked. At midnight when I saw some lights going off outside I thought they were just fireworks."
"I saw about eight lights going over the rugby club. It was like they were all trying to get in a line. They started as a kind of red light and changed to an amber glow. They began moving quite slowly and speeded up. After about 15 minutes they vanished."
A posting from six people in Carlton read: "They seemed to wait for each other as they stopped mid-air before slowly disappearing. I also saw bunches of blue lights which were harder to see. Everything was quiet, no engine sounds."
Did you spot anything odd in the sky as you were involved in the New Year festivities? Have you heard talk about spaceships and aliens and put it down to one to many beers? Do you have a logical explanation to throw some light on what it might have been? If so we'd love to hear about it.

Top UFO Spotter Endorses Uluru UFO Claim
|
By Ben Langford
January 11, 2008-AN experienced UFO spotter has lent his support to the theory aliens landed at Uluru and created human beings.
Lew Farkas runs the store and holiday park at Wycliffe Well, an internationally-renowned UFO hotspot 380km north of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway.
The Northern Territory News yesterday reported on a US UFO enthusiasts' website carrying a story about aliens landing at the Rock and creating human life.
The event, the UFO Area website claims, is depicted in Aboriginal rock paintings at Uluru.
Mr Farkas, 60, said he has spotted about 30 UFOs in his time.
"I think it's feasible," he said.
"There's more to things in the past and to our lives than we can comprehend.
"I think that some other beings from another planet in some format started us off down here.
"That's why they keep coming back and checking us out."
Mr Farkas said depictions of aliens were common to the art of many ancient cultures.
"They all seem to have a being with helmets on and space-looking characters," he said.
"They only paint what they see.
"Indians, Aztecs, they've all got space creatures."
Mr Farkas said there had not been a sighting at Wycliffe Well since November 7, when a group of British backpackers said they saw a light hovering around for about 15 minutes before flying off.
Outside the tourist season there are not as many eyes trained to the mysteries of the sky.
"Nobody here spends all night sitting around looking at the sky," he said. "If it came early in the evening someone might see it."
The Wycliffe Well Holiday Park is popular with tourists keen to catch a glimpse of an alien visitor.
"If you stand outside in the middle of the night you can look in any direction and see the whole sky to the horizon," he said. "If something does move, you can see it."

MUFON Investigation of Drone Photos & CARET Documents
|
Editor's Note: I had a phone conversation with Mr. Carrion about a week ago, and we discussed the case of the drones or so-called "strange craft." Although it has been quite some time since there has been any new evidence on this case, the investigation to get to the truth is ongoing. The UFO Casebook will be involved in this quest, by the request of Mr. Carrion. If any of you have anything of importance about the drone mystery, you can foward it to me at: webmaster@ufocasebook.com, or directly to Mr. Carrion. Also, contact us if you have any questions about the case. There is a possibility that this investigation will lead to an episode on the "UFO Hunters" program on the History Channel.
Thank you,

Saucer-shaped UFO Photographed over Wordsley, England
|
This photograph was taken in November, 2007. I forgot to post it just before Christmas. I've cropped the picture for you already as it was only open sky.
I didn't notice the object at the time. It's not a bird, or any aircraft I recognize. It's saucer shaped, and you can even see a glint of reflected sunlight on the one side.
The photograph was taken in Wordsley, England.
Regards and Happy New Year,
Col. Foster
Second Photograph from Wordsley...
This picture was taken in Wordsley, England, in 2008. Ignore the date, it wasn't set properly. I was taking randoms of the sky, and saw nothing until the last snap.
I took 5 pictures, instantly the saucer-shaped object appeared in the camera's view finder. If you look closely, the object appears to have an antenna on top.
Now this was odd: as I was holding the camera out about 14 inches from my face, looking at the screen and the sky at the same time, nothing caught my eye flying above or past me, yet there it was in the LCD camera screen.
Keep up the good work!

Triangle UFO Reported in Sweden
|
I had a sighting this morning at about 07:05-07:20 January 7 2008.
It was after work and I decided to get some breakfast at a local McDonalds. As I stood in line at the drivethru I saw a strange big light which i'm witnessing
quite often, only this time it was changing it's shape from round (like a huge star) to a more "saucer shaped" light and then back again several times.
It never moved but i know that it was not a star, it might have been venus or something, but a planet isn't supposed to be able to change its shape like that.
Though it could have been the pulsating light tricking my eyes into thinking that it was changing its shape, I don't think that was the case here.
But that's not the main thing about this sighting, the thing is that while I was sitting in my car, eating my breakfast and waiting for the thing to make a move a pretty big
black triangle (my estimation is twice as large as our normal commercial aircrafts) seemed to appear out of nowhere with three big lights on each of the three sides.
I got my window down to listen if it made any sound but no it did not. The flashing lights on this craft was intense and very bright, not at all like those on a normal
aircraft, they were larger and they were blinking in different sequences and at times all three lights together at the same time. One blue, one red and one orange/yellow.
It also had a fourth light (like a headlight or something). This one was the biggest light, it was light yellow, it was on the bottom of the the craft in the front.
I saw the triangular feature of the craft pretty well since the sky was getting brighter and I could also tell that it was dark or black in colour.
When it flew into a thick cloud I could still see the flashing lights and they made at least half of the cloud glow in the different colours it emitted.
A regular aircraft came its way and the triangular craft just disappeard/turned of the lights (inside the cloud) and I lost it.
I'm sending you a drawing of what it looked like (kind of looked like). The edges were a little bit more rounded.
Regards.
Cristofer Ohlsson-Malmo, Sweden.

UFO Landing Near Kirtland Air Force Base
|
Albuquerque, NM , August 9, 1980. This is an interesting report that has far-reaching implications if true, especially in light of what has been reported before at, and near, Kirtland AFB, a military base which is one of the most sensitive military installations in the world. This report by Bruce Maccabee is also an attempt to locate records relating to it. On the morning of August 9, 1980, several security guards at the Manzano Weapons Storage Area, adjacent to Kirtland AFB, saw a bright light descend in (a) restricted area. A fourth guard observed a disk shaped light in the vicinity of a bunker used to store nuclear weapons. The incident resulted in a report being filed with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) at Kirtland. The incident was subsequently investigated by agent Richard Doty -- an interesting and mysterious figure who often appears in the UFO literature. Doty filed a preliminary report on the incident, which has been acknowledged and released by the Air Force. Maccabee's question is, where is the follow-up report? Surely, no such incident at an atomic facility, even if explainable by mundane causes, would go without further investigation. Maccabee reveals strong circumstantial evidence that such a report exists but is being withheld by the Air Force.

Florida-Group of Lights
|
01-11-08-On the night of 1/11/08 I noticed lights in the sky located over the parking area of my condo complex. They were white in color and were moving in a roughly circular pattern. I thought it strange that they could not be traced to a source, as would spot lights originating from a source on the ground or from the sky such as those from a helicopter.
The lights numbered around six to ten at any given time and remained in a group moving in a northeasterly direction. I attempted to follow them on foot and watched as they settled over a nearby complex. The lights were well above the tree line but much lower than an airplane and were completely silent. I watched for at least thirty minutes-long enough to discern an approximate figure eight pattern and a tendency for the lights to congregate toward the east and then seem to break off in pairs that moved in unison. They were not very bright or intense but were clearly visible, seeming to aluminate. The lights stayed over the same location for about twenty minutes then gradually moved to the east. I went inside at this point. The movement of them seemed most remarkable to me, as they appeared to flutter, quickly and weightless across the night sky. I witnessed this from eight to eight-thirty. Texas-Oblong Object
|
01-04-Austin-My son and I were returning home from Austin last Friday, 1/04/08 early evening about 4:30. We were about one mile north of Bastrop on Highway 95 and I was watching some large birds in the eastern horizon when suddenly a large oblong disc appeared in the distance.
I would guess its size to be 80 to 90 % of what the moon appears in the sky. It was tipped on about a 45 degree angle and stayed in that position for several seconds and then it seemed to rotate to form a perfectly round object. Then, as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared. Quite often we see very small objects in the skies around Austin but this is the first I've seen of such large size. -Pat-source: www.ufocasebook.com

Kazakhstan-Alleged Crash
|
01-08-PAVLODAR. (Interfax)-An unidentified flying object might have fallen in the Belaya river in the May district in the Pavlodar region, northern Kazakhstan, a source with the regional emergency situations department told Interfax referring to an eye-witness.
The chief of a local police department saw a shining flying object falling in the river in the early hours of January 5, the source said, adding that the policeman "reported about it to higher authorities."
According to the emergency situations department, divers examined a 15-meter air hole and officers of the local sanitary and epidemic office took water samples.
"Divers plunged four times, but no objects were found. Water samples are normal," the department said.
Meanwhile, Lyubov Rybalko, a Ufologist and the head of the Asur public organization, told Interfax that an UFO cannot fall. They "can either land or pass through the Earth like through air." It is possible that an UFO splashed down in the Belaya river, the Ufologist said. source: http://www.interfax.ru/e/B/politics/28.html?id_issue=11941311

Norway-Glowing Orb
|
12-31-07-On New Years Eve, me and my family saw an orange glowing orb in the sky, southwest of the city of Honefoss in Norway. It was about 10 to 5 minutes to midnight and the sky was clear, albeit lit up by rockets. This was certainly not a rocket, plane or helicopter, as it moved at a steady speed in a fixed manner.
It looked as if it was bobbing up and down at certain times. We watched it for about 10 minutes before it flew over, gained speed and disappeared in the distance. We couldn't hear any sound from any engine or anything similar, just the rockets in the distance. source: www.ufocasebook.com

Thailand-Photograph of Unknown
|
Date Unknown-I was in Thailand where I was on a two week holiday. We visited Sukothoi, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I took these photographs of the Budaha. While there I heard a noise in the sky which was like a low humming. The two photographs were taken two seconds apart. The first shows nothing in the sky. The second shows a bright object.
This is not a planet such as Venus or stars, and neither is their any kind of trail which would indicate a bright meteorite. I do not believe that it is a blemish on the film as I did hear a noise in the sky at the time. Therefore, because of its green triangular shape, it is some kind of UFO. I have not doctored the photographs in any kind of way. It is as it was taken on celluloid. You have permission to publish this on the web site if you want to.
