UPDATE! Here is additional information I received from the man who took the video over Stephenville, TX on 01-12-08.
We first saw it in a neighborhood off of Lingleville Road in Stephenville. We stopped to video tape the object in the sky. We
drove up US-377 toward Wheatland to try to keep up with it. We saw it
briefly over the Cresson and then lost it.
It went in an eastern direction. We got on FM-1187, and then saw the object again south of
FM-1187. We ended up in Burleson, off of a side stree called Eden. The Eden
street sign can be clearly read in the video.
Below is original article:
I was referred to a video of a UFO taken over Stephenville that I had not seen previously. I thought it to be very interesting, and contacted the gentleman who had taken the film. It shows a low altitude UFO moving over the city of Stephenville.
The man who took the footage gave me the following details:
I was driving through Stephenville when I saw it in the sky the night of January 8th. I'm not sure exactly what time it was. I was driving East on Lingleville Road when I first captured it on video. My friend was with me and he saw it too. Let us know if you have any other questions. Feel free to post this video. Thanks
I have since sent additional questions, and should receive an answer very soon. I will post that information as I receive it. I am trying to obtain "uncompressed" footage of the video.

UFO Casebook Exclusive-Compelling Video of UFO from Texas-UPDATE!
UPDATE! I have received additional information on this video. I had assumed that since we were in the throngs of the wave of sightings across Texas that the video was taken recently. On the contrary. It was taken in 2003, during the summer months, and when the man who took the video saw the breaking news reports, he decided to send me the film.
Although it is not part of the current wave of sightings, it is still, to me, one of the best videos I have seen in recent times. Take the time to look this over.
Here is the additional info I was sent:
B J,
In the middle of 2003 I had gone to the store. On my way home I notice a huge bright object low in altitude. At first I thought it was an advertising blimp.
At home I crabbed my camcorder and began videotaping. I notice it was moving left to right. The object went behind a tree. It must have turned directions, it never came out the other side. Whatever it was it was brightly lit.
Thank you to the gentleman for the additional information, and clearing up the time element.
Below is original article:
The video you will see below was taken in the vicinity of San Antonio, Texas. I cannot verify that it is connected to the recent sighting wave near Stephenville, Texas, but I can assert that it is not hoaxed in any way, and is quite compelling.
The video shows what appears to be a fairly large oval shaped UFO hovering, or barely moving behind a group of trees. The video is displayed at regular speed, and there have been no enhancements to the video. I received the film in the .dat format, and compressed it for Internet streaming. The first :35 contains still frame grabs, and then the film begins and plays in its entirety.
Anyone who is genuinely interested in downloading the original 12 megabyte .dat file for study, can do so by request. The gentleman who took the film shall remain anonymous for the time being, anyway. If certain legal issues can be cleared up, he may choose to come forward. I assess him as genuine, sane person from his correspondence. Hopefully, there will be more details of the film at a later time. I am unsure of the exact date the video was taken until I receive more information.
For centuries, people have reported encounters with extraterrestrial beings. Is it… Hoax or History?
UFO HUNTERS™
On The History Channel®
NEW YORK, NY, JAN. 24, 2008 — Are we alone in the universe? The question has always haunted humankind.
Incidents involving UFOs and extraterrestrial life have been reported throughout history. UFO HUNTERS™,
a new series on The History Channel, follows a group of experts as they subject some of history’s most intriguing UFO
accounts, and the evidence surrounding them, to exhaustive scrutiny in an effort to uncover the actual facts.
The series is a spinoff from the network’s hit program “UFO HUNTERS” which premiered in 2005.
The new HD series UFO HUNTERS premieres Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on The History Channel®.
UFO Hunters Bill Birnes, Pat Uskert, Dr. Ted Acworth, and Jeff Tomlinson are passionate about separating fact
from fallacy when it comes to UFO incidents. Each brings a different background and perspective: Bill Birnes is
publisher of UFO Magazine, home to one of the world’s largest collections of documentation on UFO incidents.
Also from UFO Magazine is investigator Pat Uskert, who became intrigued with the UFO phenomenon after he
witnessed a strange metallic object floating over Venice, California. Jeff Tomlinson is the scientific intern with the
UFO HUNTERS team. They are joined by Dr. Ted Acworth of MIT, a mechanical engineer and researcher who
previously worked for NASA, and brings the discipline of hard science to the team, assisting in the investigations
of reported UFO incidents to determine if they are real.
Each week, this group travels to the site of a well-known UFO encounter to explore the event and uncover what
really happened. In the course of their investigations, the UFO Hunters examine evidence such as videotapes,
audiotapes, witness interviews, and files newly opened under the Freedom of Information Act, then go on location
and to the lab to interview, re-construct the events, and investigate. Their journeys take them across North America
and Europe in search of the truth about these UFO sightings.
The premiere episode of the new HD series UFO HUNTERS examines an incident that took place two weeks
before the now-famous report of a UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico. UFO HUNTERS: THE UFO BEFORE
ROSWELL travels back to June 21st, 1947, when Harold Dahl was boating with crew and dog off the coast of
Maury Island, Washington, in Puget Sound. They noticed several odd-shaped aircraft dotting the sky. One suddenly
began spewing white-hot fragments over the water and onto the beach. The fiery falling debris killed Dahl’s dog and
broke his son’s arm. He told the harbor patrol, who in turn reported the incident to the military. A few weeks later,
two Air Force intelligence officers from Hamilton Field, California arrived in Tacoma. After conducting interviews,
and collecting most of the remaining wreckage, the officers departed McChord Field in the early hours of August 1st.
Shortly afterward, the airplane lost communication, and people reported seeing flames in the sky. Two people died
in the crash, two others made their way through the darkness to a farmhouse. UFO HUNTERS has located the crash
scene and along with an archeologist, comb the debris field, gathering and analyzing the evidence.
UFO HUNTERS: THE UFO BEFORE ROSWELL Wednesday at 10:00pm ET/PT.
The following incidents reported by individuals are investigated in the series:
• June 1947 – A group of people out boating notice odd-shaped aircraft in the sky overhead – when fiery
debris from the objects suddenly rains down on them. U.S. military sent in later to collect evidence are involved in a
plane crash. Not long after the boating incident, an unusual aircraft accident is reported in Roswell, New Mexico,
raising further questions.
• September 1961 – A couple driving on a rural New Hampshire road allege they were abducted, examined,
and returned to their car by their captors. Under hypnosis they reveal details of their abduction and the woman draws a
map of an unknown solar system. Years later, astronomers discover a solar system closely matching it.
• 1980 – A pilot flying his small plane spots an object just below the surface of the water off Catalina Island.
He reports that a bright light emanating from the object enveloped his plane and froze his controls, after which he lost
consciousness.
• August 2007 – Two sleepy villages in eastern Mexico, Valles and Xilitla, report debris falling from the sky,
and a 10-foot-diameter fireball was seen to fly back and forth through the sky as if being maneuvered, before crashing to
the ground..
• Since the 1980s, over 7,000 sightings of strange objects in the sky have been reported in the Hudson Valley
region of upstate New York, and the source of a powerful beam of light emanating from the center of a local cemetery has
yet to be determined.
Other episodes of UFO HUNTERS will investigate reports of man-made aircraft and spacecraft encountering
UFOs while flying, incidents of police encounters with UFOs, various stone formations around the world, such as
Stonehenge, that many experts feel are powerful clues into the extraterrestrial world, and a look at the efforts of
modern organizations like SETI and NASA, and what they are doing to investigate the presence of extraterrestrial
life in the universe The official minisite, www.history.com/ufohunters will include videos of reported UFO sightings
as well as an ongoing web series.
Viewers can share their own encounters on the UFO HUNTERS Sightings Map Experience, an interactive application
utilizing Google Map technology, to pinpoint personal experiences around the globe. Viewers will be able to browse
world-wide encounters as well as add their own stories, photos and videos for others to view and rate. Experts from the
series will participate in online chats, and the site will serve as a forum for UFO discussions.
The new HD series UFO HUNTERS is produced by Motion Picture Production, Incorporated, for The History Channel.

Include Me with the UFO Believers
There were two interesting letters in the Hendersonville Times-News during December that caused me to wonder if now would be a good time to write the column I promised some time ago about my encounter with a UFO.
The second letter said that the 25 percent of Americans who believe in the existence of UFOs have a poor understanding of science and probably a lower IQ than most of the other 75 percent in our country.
At the risk of putting myself in the dumb part of the population, at least in that person's eyes, I would like to tell you a story.
When I left the Navy at the end of World War II, I went to college. I had been interested in science since grade school, so I began working on a degree in physics.
Our college had about 1,600 students so the number of people working on a physics degree varied from six to eight students at any one time.
There were three World War II students in that group -- an Army man, a German man who had spent his high school in service at an anti-aircraft gun in Berlin and me, a Navy guy. The three of us were a little older than the others there, so we kind of hung out together.
When the stories began to come out about UFOs, all of us began talking about what kind of propulsion system could do everything being said about the craft. I don't think any of us had any interest in any other part of the story, just the system being used.
The Army guy was a little older than the rest of us because he had some college before the war and he finished the first in our group.
He got a job offer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and went for an interview. This was in about 1949 or 1950.
When he came back to school, he was really excited about the job and started to tell me about it.
He said I was the only one he was telling, but that they had a saucer that he was going to be working on and they were trying to find out how it operated. I believe that was the first time I ever heard the term retro-engineering.
He made me promise not to tell anyone else and until now I haven't broken my word. He is dead now, so I see no reason not to talk about it.
The second person who told me about seeing a saucer was my father. He was the biggest skeptic I ever knew, a World War I Marine and a drill sergeant during 1916 to 1922, a policeman and a World War II Army captain. He had a job after the war in civil service for the Army.
He was on a trip to White Sands in the 1950s and when he came back from that trip he was a UFO believer.
He told me he was having a meal with some officers when the air raid alarm went off at White Sands. They all ran outside and he said there was a disc in the sky over the base. He said some fighter planes came toward the disc and he kept saying the same thing over and over, "nothing could move that fast." He said the disc left the planes alone in the sky.
The last person on my list is me. In the 1950s, I was hunting near the Mississippi River in Louisiana when it started to get dark.
I was walking to my car. I had stopped to light a cigarette when I heard a noise like a chopper makes when its blades are on idle. It came toward me.
There was no moon but the sky was full of stars. I could see something blanking out the stars and it came and stopped directly over me.
The noise was very loud and the stars were blotted out in a large section of the sky over my head. I would guess about a 45 degree angle on each side of me.
There was no wind with the sound. After about the longest minute in my life, the object moved across the river to the Baton Rouge side.
Like dad said, "Nothing could move that fast." I guess I am in that dumb 25 percent.
Sparky Hall, a Times-News community columnist, can be contacted at sparkyhall25@peoplepc.com. His column appears the second Friday of every month.
Jan 25, 2008-Can't help but wonder about all the fuss in Stephenville, Texas. It seems that a number of residents witnessed a large, brightly lit floating object in the night sky back on January Eighth. A few people also claim to have seen military jets in pursuit. Witnesses claim the object was in excess of a mile long. Predictably, the military concocted a fish story in an attempt to quell speculation on what people might have seen.
Of all the many things our military does well, insulting the intelligence of Americans may be what it does best: 'Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, said no F-16s or other aircraft from his base were in the area the night of January 8, when most people reported the sighting.'
'Lewis said the object may have been an illusion caused by two commercial airplanes. Lights from the aircraft would seem unusually bright and may appear orange from the setting sun.
"I'm 90 percent sure this was an airliner," Lewis said. "With the sun's angle, it can play tricks on you."
Officials at the region's two Air Force bases -- Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls -- also said none of their aircraft were in the area last week.
***
I'm fifty years old and I've seen my share of aircraft and sunsets. Don't recall any of them "playing tricks" on me. Witnesses of the mysterious floating object insisted that what they saw was not a pair of commercial aircraft, and the story began to draw nationwide attention. Just as predictably, the military changed its story to fit the situation:
***
I have questions regarding this matter specifically and on the subject of UFOs in general. First, given all of the similar sightings by credible people (including law enforcement and professional pilots) around the world, do we truly believe all of those incidents to be false alarms? How many stories of malfunctioning experimental weather balloons, errant flares or bouts of mass hysteria are we to believe?
How is it that so many different people in so many different parts of the world have seen these unexplained phenomena? Are we to believe that they're all hoaxers in some worldwide conspiracy to make fools of the rest of us? Or, are they all just a bunch of hayseeds, drunk in their front yards and being "tricked" by a pair of passenger jets at sunset?
If we are not alone in the universe, and I do not believe we are, where is the benefit in keeping the populace ignorant of such knowledge?
***
And, if indeed these are extraterrestrial visitors then why are they buzzing around the planet? If they have the technology to fly across the void to our world, why do they not just land and have a chat (maybe they're afraid of those F-16's)? And why all the lights? Obviously, they don't care to travel with any degree of stealth. They wish to be seen. But why announce one's presence so dramatically and then just speed away?
So many questions.
Some time back, I wrote that there cannot be a massive government conspiracy to keep a lid on knowledge of UFOs because our government cannot keep a secret. I'll admit to having changed my mind. While the bulk of the supposed sightings across the globe are probably either false alarms or hoaxes, too many of them have the ring of believability to be false. Too many people with nothing to gain by fabricating a UFO story have reported sightings in good faith. Far too many of these stories describe one or more of the same types of objects - either cigar-shaped or spherical, and either glowing from within or illuminated by banks of colorful lights.
And, the lies produced by our government are getting sillier by the day. Steve Martin, a pilot who saw the object near Stephenville said, "A bunch of stuff is bubbling up. They may have to tell us the truth."
There was a television show on Fox called "Sightings" and they aired the video that was anonymously taken right after the crash. I'll never forget it!
Two years after the crash, my younger cousin wanted to do a report for school on the crash. Since I was home with two kids at the time and not working I offered to shuttle her around. One of our stops was the Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department.
It was a nice, warm day. We walked up to the building, the door was open with the screen door shut. We could hear and see everything inside. An old man, in his 70's I guess, walked up to the door and greeted us. He asked what we were there for, he was very friendly. My cousin told him she wanted some information on the crash. He said, hang on a minute.
He then turned his head and called out to the group of older gentlemen sitting behind him at a table, "These ladies would like to know more about that UFO that crashed over in the park". The response from the table was a resounding No - not mean or nasty, but they were all talking at once about how they weren't allowed to talk about it or they would get in trouble, stuff like that. The old man turned back to us and said, I'm sorry, we're not allowed to say anything about that UFO that crashed over in that park.
We left and our next stop was Southaven Park. We parked the car and got out and saw a park ranger. He was a younger guy, maybe in his late 20's. He was very friendly, hello, etc. Then he asked us what we needed help with.
One mention of the word UFO sent him in a tizzy. He got a nasty look on his face and told us that he is not going to say one word about it, and if we were smart we would forget about it, too, and if I were you, I wouldn't even THINK about writing a report about it. He turned away from us in a huff and walked away.
I live about 15 miles away, so it is very interesting to me.
But if you want to see the video, try to track it down with that FOX television show, maybe it's still in the archives? BTW, the SciFi channel used to air the reruns. Never once did I see anything about the Southaven crash during those reruns. I hope you find something!
Good luck!

UFO Crash At Southaven Park?
Newspaper: South Shore Press-Issue: Vol X, No 7-Date: Tuesday, May 25, 1993
The incident happened just after 7:00 P.M. on the night of November 24, according to John Ford, chairman of the Long Island U.F.O. Network, who said that it has taken his group six months to do a thorough investigation. It was just recently, though, that his group was able to acquire the video and the photos. "We knew that something crashed into the park that night and we have, bit by bit," said Ford, "been able to finally put the picture together."
Several motorists who were traveling along Sunrise Highway that night, according to Ford, contacted his organization and described what they thought was a plane that was going down into the park. And many local residents whose homes border Southaven report that they heard loud rumbling sounds and saw strange lights.
"Eyewitness accounts have confirmed that a fire was reported immediately after," noted Ford. "In addition, the roads around the park were blocked off to travel by county and park police. The next day, and for a few days after, the park was closed to the public."
One local resident who lives near the park said that for a five to six day period after the incident, his house experienced numerous power surges and the phone would ring strangely without anyone on the other end. "I ride horses in the park so I'm pretty familiar with the activities there," said the 45- year-old man who requested anonymity because of the sensitive nature of his job ("they would fire me if they thought I believed in flying saucers"). "For the next few days there were a lot of military helicopters going over the park --- and I couldn't get in."
Records show that Southaven Park was closed between November 25 and 28. According to park officials, the park was closed to the general public that week because it was reserved for duck hunting.
Although some of the area fire departments were initially called, they were turned back and the fire was handled by the federally controlled Brookhaven National Laboratory Fire Department, said Ford.
Ford's group finally gained admittance into the park a week later. "We found an area that was burned out and some trees were bent over," Ford recalled. "A section looked like it had been plowed over by machinery." But two things were of particular interest to Ford. "We were getting a higher than normal radiation reading in the area, higher than regular background radiation, and the fence line in that area," said Ford, "had no magnetic reading." Ford explained that metal fences maintain a magnetic charge from the Earth.
"Something had stripped away the magnetic charge of the fence."
Last week Ford received what he had been waiting and hoping for: a video film of the crash. "I can't say where I got it from because these people who supplied the tape are afraid that the government will go after them." Because of the poor quality of the tape, Ford has been working with video specialists to try and enhance the quality of the picture and to produce stills.
The video, a copy of which was given to South Shore Press, shows people examining a bright reddish, metallic-type object about four-square feet that appears to be emitting a white, cloudy gas, and a hissing sound can be heard --- a sight and sound that resembles dry ice that has been exposed to warmer temperatures. The next shot shows what appears to be a person trying to lift up a body near a tree, but the poor quality of the film makes positive identification impossible. In a final scene, three uniformed men (wearing dark jackets and rounded caps similar to federal swat teams) are seen placing a large shiny spread (similar to mylar) over something on the ground. Ford makes no apologies for the poor quality of the video:
"Things are happening fast and the guy who took the shots doesn't want to be too obvious." And he confesses that it is hard to get people to come forward and admit what they've seen. "One of the major problems in researching UFOs is that people are afraid of sounding like lunatics when describing strange, unexplained events." But an even greater fear, notes Ford, is the government. "You get involved with things that the government doesn't want people to know and they can make life pretty tough for you."
What are Ford's conclusions about the Southaven incident? "We are still very actively investigating this event. We believe that an extraterrestrial craft, with aliens, crashed that night in the park --- and we are out to prove it."
The Long Island U.F.O. Network has a 24-hour hotline number (286-3212) to which Ford encourages people to call if they have any information on the (Southaven) incident or any other (unexplainable) phenomenon. Or you can call this reporter at 281-PRESS he would love to know what happened that night.

California-Strange Eyes
1980s-I must have been 7 years old or so. It was the mid 1980's. My parents and about 5 other families were camping at a place called Swimmers Delight. It's out highway 36, in northern Ca. A state park I believe.
There were 7 of us kids. Our parents decided that we should all (children) sleep in the same tent. It's amazing how it is still so fresh in my mind like it happened just
yesterday. OK, it's the middle of the night, I assume, the parents were definitely asleep. I am sleeping in the middle of the tent.
Allison, who was on my right, woke me up. She said there was eyes in the corner of the tent. I remember telling her it's just your imagination, go back to sleep. But she wouldn't leave me alone and I could tell that she was really scared, she was crying at this point.
So I sat up, looked over in the right hand corner of the tent and there were two large black slanted eyes coming up out of the corner, almost like they were coming from the ground, through the tent. Of course, I totally freaked out and tried waking up the other kids. We both tried waking them up. The boys were to my left. My younger brother was closest to me. He wouldn't wake up for all the world, neither would another boy. But Dustin did.
We didn't know what to do. These eyes were still coming at us. Then there was this strange lighted device, kind of like a very miniature UFO that floated into our tent. It was the classic saucer shape with flashing lights all around. I told Dustin and Allison to put their heads under their covers, and we all did.
None of us remember going to sleep but all three of us woke up at the same time. It was barely daylight out side and it sounded like there was something rustling behind our tent. Allison asked me if I had heard the noise, I said yes and Dustin said he heard it too. From the time we put the covers over our heads to the time we
became conscious seemed like just a minute or two. source: http://ufos.about.com
Georgia-Mirror-Like Object
01-12-08-I saw a UFO last Saturday coming back from Anderson, SC. It was at the border of Georgia and Alabama at West Point Lake. It was not an airplane-it had a mirror-like reflection, and was not moving at all. You could see the sunlight coming off of it. It was about 30,000 feet high. As I was watching it, it simply disappeared into thin air. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else saw this besides me. http://ufos.about.com
Georgia-Pink Triangles
April, 2004-This occurred in Marietta, GA on a beautiful sunny day at 4:30 PM. I was in my home, looking out my window when I spotted the UFOs in the sky. I was alone and did not take any photos (unfortunately). There were two pink triangles way up in the sky... where jets would normally be flying. They were stationary for a few minutes then moved in unison, then disappeared into the clouds.
A few minutes later they reappeared in a different part of the sky, at the same height as previously. Again, they were stationery, then moved in unison, then disappeared into the clouds. They were not kites or balloons, or helicopters or planes... they were not anything I had ever seen before in my life. There were no sounds or smells associated with the UFOs, but I was inside my house looking out the window, so the only sense I was using was my sight. Report by a doctor. source: www.ufocasebook.com
Indiana-USO Hovers
01-24-08-Well, you might not believe the events that just happened, and I don't know if I do either. I was on my way home from work, and I saw some disturbance in the water down at the river that moves through Muncie, Indiana. I stopped and got out of my vehicle, and just then the lights dimmed, and then the engine turned off. The water got very noisy, and the sound of ice breaking, and a bright lighted disk shape appeared to slowly rise out of the ice.
The shape appeared to hover and seemed to get closer to me. I ducked underneath the front of the car, and yelled 'leave me alone,' in case it wanted to approach me. I wasn't armed then, but I wish I was.
I'll bet some buckshot would have scared them off. Anyway, after a minute or so, I could see the lights getting dimmer, so I looked out and saw the shape hovering toward the tree line along the White River. A low hum came from the disk as it sped up and flew off to the northeast skyline. When I got home, I noticed I had a sunburn that appeared around the back of my neck, but my wife said it was there before, so I am not sure if it is related. source: www.mufon.com
India-Inverted Triangle
Nov/Dec, 2007-This happened in Oct-Nov 2007 don't remember exact date. I am from India (Chennai).I happen to notice 3 stars in an inverted triangle
position on the west side everyday. As I am in the 1st floor and have a balcony I put on some music in my room and stand in the balcony every evening and noticed
this stars formation to be peculiar. One day as I was looking at these 3 stars, the 1st star was not that bright,2nd was brighter than the 1st and the 3rd one the brightest
of all.
As I was watching I suddenly noticed another star coming from the 1st star moving slowly to the 3rd star and when it came very closely to the 3rd star it became more brighter than the 3rd star and disappeared in about 5 seconds .I was shocked to see this and after about 2-3 minutes again one more star came from near the 1st star and to the 3rd star and disappeared in the same manner.Time was from 6:30pm-7pm.After this I haven't seen this inverted triangle stars formation, but have noticed strange objects flying in the sky,and I believe in UFO's as I had seen one when I was about 15 years old. source: www.mufon.com
