Alien Encounters in South Missouri
|
Eighteen-year-old Ralph Carnahan was sitting on his family’s porch in the southeast Missouri town of Zalma at about 9 p.m. May 7, 2007, talking to his girlfriend on the telephone, when he saw strange lights.
“In front of me was a pair of bright lights in the sky; one light was red and one was white,” he said. “The other pair off to my side, both were white.”
He called his mother and her boyfriend outside. They didn’t think the lights were out of the ordinary, so they went back in the house. Ralph didn’t; he waited and the lights moved closer.
“The pair that was in front of me started hovering real slow and there’s a tree in my front yard, it hovered around that tree,” he said. Then the light moved off – but it left something behind. “There’s a street light down the road and it glared on the tree. I looked up and there was something in that tree.”
Ralph saw a brownish-green creature with “real big eyes” sitting in the tree. He ran to the house and called his mother and her boyfriend outside again.
“They came out and we tried to see what it was, but when we got close to it, I could see that (thing) started blending in with the tree,” he said. “My mom didn’t see it, so after a minute they went back in.”
Ralph walked to the porch where his mother’s dog was tied; the dog soon started growling toward a bridge over a nearby creek.
“I looked down by the Huzzah Creek by the bridge and there was a green spaceship not real big hovering as high as the street light, you could barely see it,” he said. “I walked down to the bridge and checked it out. You could see it hovering backwards into the dark, so I turned around and … ran to my house.”
From the front porch, Ralph resumed talking to his girlfriend on the telephone. He told her everything he was seeing.
“The alien in the tree was just staring straight at me, so my girlfriend said, ‘throw a rock at it or poke it with a stick,’” he said. “But I was on a phone with a cord and couldn’t go very far with it, so I grabbed this coffee cup on the porch and threw it at it.”
He missed the thing in the tree, but his action caused it to move.
“I could hear the grass go down like something jumped on it,” he said. “So I told my girlfriend that I’m going inside.”
He went inside around 11 p.m. At 12:30 a.m., things in the house started to move; a table cloth, a radio, a piggy bank and sandals slowly shifted as if they were being inspected by a curious child. Ralph was convinced aliens were in his house.
“I knew it was aliens,” he said. “But they were transparent; I could barely see them.”
At about 5 a.m., Ralph decided he didn’t want to be alone.
“A tall alien was looking through the glass on the top of the door,” Ralph said. “It was staring hard. It didn’t have huge eyes and it was red with black markings on its face. He was scary.”
Ralph woke his 16-year-old sister, “and I told her, ‘look at the alien in the window,’” he said. “She started crying and ran into my mom’s room.”
At dawn, Ralph said the creatures disappeared.
“Mom didn’t see them,” he said. “She doesn’t believe me or my sister, but I know different. They are out there and real. I’m not scared of anything, but now it’s hard for me to go outside at night.
“It ain’t no joke,” Ralph said. “Aliens exist, 100 percent.”

Orlando Man Records Video of UFO over Tampa
|
ORLANDO, Fla. -- On January 20, 2008, three members of an independent hip-hop show crew, Movement Television, were on their way to a music event in Tampa, heading south on I-275, when they noticed something unusual in the sky to the west.
Driver Camdon Neville, an Orlando acoustic folk artist who goes by the stage name Clowd Nyne, was the first to notice the UFO in the early evening sky. Show producer and host Clifford Jeudy, who goes by the stage name Rebel Black, quickly grabbed the camera and began to tape for more than three minutes.
The video recorded shows an orange glow in the sky over Hillsborough County. At times, the streaking orange glow appears to be two separate 'fire balls.' The video was recorded on a mini-DV tape using a handheld Sony HD camera.
"I wish I could explain what it was that I saw, but I can't, because of all the different things it did," said passenger Kniki Freeman, an Orlando rapper who goes by the stage name Sky High.
While the entire video recorded contains 3 minutes and 28 seconds worth of footage, Movement Television has only released around one minute (view it here). The rest of the footage is being withheld as Movement Television works on a documentary that will premiere the full video. It is expected to be released in Summer 2008.
WFTV.com found one similar report posted online of a viewing on the same day along Himes Avenue and Columbus Drive in Tampa (see map). In that description posted online, the observer notes, "Viewed two fireballs with long tails flying in a horizontal formation one on top of the other moving in a westerly direction south of our position. After about 15 to 20 seconds of flight in a constant direction with the top fireball varying in distance only slightly from the bottom fireball (by separating in distance vertically), the fireballs made a maneuver that seemingly defied the laws of physics. They both executed a 120 to 140 degree turn towards the earth and seemed to spiral around each other in an arc before they were no longer in our view (read full description)."
"Not on our radar at all," Lt. Rebecca Heyse, Public Affairs Officer for Macdill Airforce Base, told WFTV.com, adding that they have no reports of similar sightings on January 20.
Movement Television said they have also been contacted by media companies interested in obtaining the video. At this time, no deals have been made.

Housewife: I Saw UFO out of Bedroom Window
|
Bright lights which interrupted a quiet night in have convinced a Northampton housewife that they could have been a UFO.
Yvonne Underwood, 51, contacted the Chronicle & Echo after bright lights flashed outside her Turnberry Lane bedroom in Collingtree Park, Northampton on the evening of Sunday, February 3.
She said: "My husband and I had gone to bed to watch Calendar Girls and then at about 9.30pm I saw these bright lights outside my window which looks directly on to the golf course.
"I jumped to the window to look out but they had gone. The strangest thing was there was no noise at all, so it couldn't have been a plane or a helicopter.
"There was no sign of anything there so I went to thefront of the house and looked out the balcony door. Occasionally you get four wheel drives out but it wasn't like that."
She said: "I thought I should let somebody know. I've never seen anything like that before, absolutely not. We regularly get police helicopters overhead but this was nothing like that.
"I was really frightened. When I went to the balcony my hands were shaking."
Mrs Underwood was so shocked by her experience that she even asked a policeman if he knew anything about it in Tesco the following day.
She added: "I just saw this policeman and thought I should ask if there had been any other sightings. I think he just thought I was a nutter or something."
Recently released Ministry of Defence Documents have revealed 27 UFO sightings in the county during the last decade, but an MOD spokeswoman said there had been no other reports of sightings in recent months.

UFO Sighting in Bubbenhall Nearly Wrecked Car
|
By Les Reid
STRANGE sightings of a spinning orange object shooting from the sky have been reported by a shocked Warwickshire couple.
Terrified Cliff and Carol Sheldon say the flashing orange mass nearly smashed into their car in Bubbenhall on Monday night.
They say it was cylindrical in shape, and about half the size of their Vauxhall Corsa.
The down-to-earth couple from Stretton-on-Dunsmore say they have always been sceptical about UFOs.
But the grandparents of-five are in no doubt about what they saw.
Their claims have been backed by a Warwick University professor with an interest in UFOs. He said they may have seen a meteorite, also known as a shooting star.
Cliff, aged 63, who has recently retired from his garage business, Manhattan Motors in Earlsdon, Coventry, said: "I just saw a great big thing spinning round with lights on.
"Carol was panicking saying: 'That might explode - go, go, go'.
"It was a clear night and I thought 'blinkin' 'eck, what's that?' It could have been something burning. There is no doubt that it was real, and we are genuine."
Carol, aged 58, described a flat round structure 'like a giant dinner plate' that was flashing orange.
She said: "I put my fingers in my ear and thought it was going to explode. We were both terrified and shocked.
"It was moving very fast and we thought it was going to hit the car. It looked like it must have come down in the fields nearby.
"We reported it to the police although I don't suppose they believed us. But there is no way you could make something up like that."
Their UFO sighting was at 9 pm on Stoneleigh Road in Bubbenhall, though nearby Coventry Airport reported "nothing untoward" on the night in question.
But Dr Jack Cohen, a professor and scientist from Warwick University who researches UFOs, said: "It's more likely to be a meteorite than a flying saucer. My guess is there are two or three a day coming down in England.
"It's not unreasonable that one could have come down close to someone."
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "We do from time to time get people reporting this kind of thing to us, particularly if they want to check military aircraft movement.
"But we're not aware of anything reported to us that would corroborate that claim from Monday night."

NASA's Deep Impact Begins Hunt for Alien Worlds
|
by Staff Writers
Pasadena CA (JPL) Feb 08, 2008-NASA's Deep Impact spacecraft is aiming its largest telescope at five stars in a search for alien (exosolar) planets as it enters its extended mission, called Epoxi.
Deep Impact made history when the mission team directed an impactor from the spacecraft into comet Tempel 1 on July 4, 2005. NASA recently extended the mission, redirecting the spacecraft for a flyby of comet Hartley 2 on Oct. 11, 2010.
As it cruises toward the comet, Deep Impact will observe five nearby stars with "transiting exosolar planets," so named because the planet transits, or passes in front of, its star. The Epoxi team, led by University of Maryland astronomer Michael A'Hearn, directed the spacecraft to begin these observations Jan. 22.
The planets were discovered earlier and are giant planets with massive atmospheres, like Jupiter in our solar system. They orbit their stars much closer than Earth does the sun, so they are hot and belong to the class of exosolar planets nicknamed "Hot Jupiters."
However, these giant planets may not be alone. If there are other worlds around these stars, they might also transit the star and be discovered by the spacecraft. Deep Impact can even find planets that don't transit, using a timing technique. Gravity from the unseen planets will pull on the transiting planets, altering their orbits and the timing of their transits.
"We're on the hunt for planets down to the size of Earth, orbiting some of our closest neighboring stars," said Epoxi Deputy Principal Investigator Drake Deming of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
"Epoxi is a combination of the names for the two extended mission components: the exosolar planet observations, called Extrasolar Planet Observations and Characterization (Epoch), and the flyby of comet Hartley 2, called the Deep Impact Extended Investigation (Dixi).
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center leads the Epoch component.
More than 200 exosolar planets have been discovered to date. Most of these are detected indirectly, by the gravitational pull they exert on their parent star. Directly observing exosolar planets by detecting the light reflected from them is very difficult, because a star's brilliance obscures light coming from any planets orbiting it.
However, sometimes the orbit of an exosolar world is aligned so that it eclipses its star as seen from Earth. In these rare cases, called transits, light from that planet can be seen directly.
"When the planet appears next to its star, your telescope captures their combined light. When the planet passes behind its star, your telescope only sees light from the star.
"By subtracting light from just the star from the combined light, you are left with light from the planet," said Deming, who is leading the search for exosolar worlds with Deep Impact.
"We can analyze this light to discover what the atmospheres of these planets are like."
Deep Impact will also look back to observe Earth in visible and infrared wavelengths, allowing comparisons with future discoveries of Earth-like planets around other stars.

Texas UFO-The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw
|
Texas-August, 2001-I was driving home through the Texas Hill Country outside of Austin, Texas (USA) and saw a very large disc-like object in the sky. Its shape reminded me of the object featured in the Close Encounters movie but the one I saw was smaller and it had more red than blue. It also did not have the height of the fictitious one in the movie. The object I saw had a top section and a bottom level that was at least twice the diameter of the top section making it more like a two-level birthday cake except with a rounded, curved sides.
It was perhaps a mile away and so big and bright that I thought it was someone's idea of an expensive joke or perhaps some promotional scheme, but as far as I could tell, there was no banner or sign anywhere close to it. The object was entirely lit up like a Christmas tree. There was white, red, blue, yellow, green light and perhaps some other colors but it was not at all garish or tacky looking. I have to say that despite the presence of thousands of lights in so many colors, they all complemented each other and it really was the most marvelous sighting.
The object remained stationary in the sky and the lights on it were twinkling, not flashing. My next reaction was to note the time. I wished very much that I had something to capture the sighting, but I had no camera or phone with me. It was the brightest, most spectacular thing I've ever seen. I then thought that I was going crazy and had to pinch my arm. I was not under the influence of anything: all of my life, I've been allergic to cigarette smoke and cannot even drink alcohol or tolerate medication like Ibuprofen, so there was nothing impacting my visual or mental acuity at the time of the sighting. Then I wished that there was someone else around to corroborate what I was seeing.
I thought for sure that something so big and bright would be seen by many and I felt that maybe someone would have taken a picture of it by that time and I could see it again in a photo and know it was for real. I wanted to stay in that spot and just observe what might happen next but I had a sick pet waiting for me at home and I needed to give him his medicine. I remember continuing my drive, hoping that I wasn't making a mistake by leaving.
The whole sighting took only a few minutes (no more than five). Because I was driving away, I lost sight of it very shortly after leaving that spot. I was certain that the newspaper would report it the next day but I found absolutely nothing in the Austin American Statesman, Austin's daily newspaper.
I really haven't spoken about this incident except to one relative and two friends. I had been concerned about being an object of derision if I were to come out more openly with this information. I just wish I had some photo to prove what I had seen. I decided to submit this report because in the last year, I've been diagnosed with a serious illness and I don't want this miraculous sighting to just die with me.
I would like to know if someone else has seen it. My profession has been in the fields of marketing research and consulting and I usually believe things when I can substantiate with numbers and fact-based research. However, I cannot explain the presence of what I saw with empirical research nor will I try to. There are times when I question the veracity of what I had seen but I do know what I saw. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have seen it at all. I only wish that I had been able to share it with someone else.

"UFOs, The Eye and the Camera"
|
Adrian Vance, a former Editor of Popular Photography, wrote the book, "UFOs, The Eye and the Camera" that contained a series of photos similar to George Ritter's in Ohio. On July 5, 1965, a Barry Andersson took the photo below on the Russian River near Anchorage, Alaska at 6 AM, with his 35 mm camera of a disc shaped craft that he estimated to be 30 feet in diameter.
Adrian Vance writes, "This picture, with a focal-plane shutter, shows that the disappearance-reappearance mechanism is one that takes place in stages, and that the object begins to appear in the new location while it is still dissolving in the old location or locations.
We use the word 'locations' since the Andersson photograph also shows that the device can be in several places at one moment, i.e. part in one spot, part in another and so on." (Page 41). He goes on to speculate that, "The fact that this machine can dissolve in space and spread itself over several locations indicates that its operators have a very high degree of technology. This picture demonstrates that the process proceeds from one side of the object to the other, and that in the interval of the Anderson photograph, 1/125 second, the object was in six places. The fact that they have picked operating cycles that are just beyond human vision indicates that they understand the process in a war, and in terms, that I have not read about before this writing." (Page 49).

California-Two Triangles
|
12-08-08-San Diego-There has been an ongoing flap which I believe began late last year, (as observed) and continues to this day. I live in the Ocean Beach area. Yesterday I saw 2 silver triangles that appeared to have telescopic booms on them.
Then later that night myself, my wife and a bunch of neighbors saw a flaming golden one that has been showing up regularly between 7:30-8:00 PM. Will-source: www.ufocasebook.com

Colorado-Triangle Spotted
|
02-08-08-Early Friday morning, I had just filled my second cup of coffee, and wondered out on my back deck to gaze at the stars noticing how beautiful Venus and Mars look in their morning cycle. It was getting cold, so just as I started to head in I gazed directly overhead noticing a rather large triangular "something" cruising through the skies.
It had three bright lights on each corner, and no stars were visible within the triangle, telling me what I was seeing was a solid craft. I then quickly grabbed my camera, and as I headed back outside I saw the craft quickly jog to the north, then stop. That's when I saw a smaller triangular craft rise up from behind a hill. It trailed some kind of plasma exhaust as it rose to meet the larger craft.
Just then the larger craft shot a beam towards the smaller craft. This lasted about 9 seconds, and then the smaller craft shot off into the night unbelievably quick. Almost at the same time the larger craft disappeared. To my surprise when I examined my snapshot I had captured the event. There has been strange events happening over the skies of Evergreen for two weeks prior to this event-lights appearing in one location, disappearing, and reappearing in another spot. Lights hovering then slowly drifting around to then disappear.
All along in the back of my mind, I'm saying to my self, "What's going on"? Then my event occurred. It left a strange feeling over me, not knowing what next to do.
So now I have an excellent digital picture for your examination. Chad Eckdahl-www.mufon.com

Iowa-Object Vanishes
|
02-09-08-I have reported this object to you guys before but I have seen it for a second time tonight in Ankeny outside of the Dmacc campus as I was heading towards my car I noticed a bright white light in the sky at first the object was heading north but as I was observing it started to come my way {west} then the flashing light died out then after a few seconds it came back on but this time it started flashing very slowly and then the object started glowing red it also looked stationary.
I was walking with a fellow student at the time but I didn't want to sound stupid and point out the craft in the sky with this object to I felt like I was being observed because the object wasn't moving very quickly at all what was weird also was when I got in my car the object vanished just gone out of sight that's why I felt like I was being watched because once I was out of sight the craft left very strange things have happened lately. source: www.mufon.com

Texas-Car-like Object
|
02-02-08-I finally saw a daytime UFO. Saturday morning 02-02-08 about 9:30 AM. I live 3 miles south of Oglesby, TX along FM 107. The craft came from the Neff Park area NW toward my house at about 2000 ft altitude.
It looked like a car. (no wheels). It was copper colored. It was going about 130 to 140 kts. It went over me and then turned (skidding... no bank) west and proceeded toward Gatesville. It had no wings or tail section. I am a pilot and I know what I saw. It was not an airplane as we know them. Tim F. source: www.ufocasebook.com

Texas-Box-like Object
|
02-09-08-El Paso-Just a note to you because I saw my first UFO today after being interested in this field for some time. I live in El Paso and while
standing in the lot of a local car dealer waiting on my truck to be inspected I was looking up as I do frequently these days. I was curious about the absence of any lingering contrails. Anyway I saw a shape which seemed to be reflecting the sunlight fly by in a wide arc heading south to Juarez from the west.
It was about 10:00 AM, and the sky was as clear as it could be. The object I saw seemed to change shape as if it were a box that was tumbling through the air. It was escorted by a smaller dot of light. I looked and couldn't make out any wings or fuselage but eventually turned away. About 5 minutes later I checked for it again and it was across the border and apparently over Juarez, Mexico.
Now, however, it was escorted by about approximately 12 smaller dots of light that seemed to move independently of it. I watched for a few minutes longer until all the lights disappeared. I've been reading about and watching clips on UFOs for over a year now and I don't get real excited by them. I just accept that they are here. source: www.ufocasebook.com

Canada-Two Objects Seen
|
02-10-08-British Columbia-My husband came to the door yelling for me to come look outside. There two bright, white lights about the size of a street light if you were a block away from one, slowly descending from the sky. They were coming from the south heading north. One was slower than the other. One eventually blinked out to where we couldn't see it any more. The other continued to descend then leveled out and continued making a turn then straight again. We watched it for about 5-10 minutes when the light blinked very dull then it went behind a cloud. My mother called for me to bring the binoculars to her house. Three of them were watching it too.
At approximately 8:45 PM, down at the lake a large glowing object was moving fast from west to east if I have my directions right. It was a bit smaller or further away than the earlier ones but was bright white as well. My youngest son saw one around the same time at a different location heading northwest. source: www.mufon.com
