DENVER (MyFOXColorado.com) – Do aliens exist? Perhaps.
A Denver man who believes the city needs an extraterrestrial affairs commission met with the media today (video: MyFoxColorado) to present a brief video which he said offered "evidence confirming the existence of extraterrestrial life" and that such life forms have visited earth.
Jeff Peckman, joined by Alejandro Rojas of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), played a brief home video he said was shot by Colorado resident Stan Romanek, when Romanek lived in Nebraska in 2003.
Romanek had allegedly set up a camera in order to catch evidence of a peeping tom whom he'd feared was preying on his daughters. Romanek did not particpate in Friday's press conference, but did appear Friday night on CNN's "Larry King Live," along with Peckman, and other guests.
At Friday's press conference, although the Romanek video was shown, photographers were asked to turn their cameras away, and not roll while it was exhibited. However, media members were given compact discs with a single, still image from the tape, purporting to show an alien's head looking in a window of Romanek's home.
Peckman, who is spearheading the petition drive dubbed the EXTRA Campaign to create his hoped-for commission, said he brought forward the Romanek video because "I was aksed what compelled me to do this ballot initiative. What evidence did I see that extraterrstrial beings existed and were on this planet?"
He said the video was just one of many pieces of compelling testimony he has seen that convinces him earth has seen alien visitors.
"You really have to look at all these things together, to finally draw a conclusion," said Peckman. He alleged that there have been 4,000 recorded crashes of extraterrestrial aircraft, and that "secret projects that are funded with amounts of money we'll never know about have categorized 57 species" of alien visitors to earth, "all of them humanoid."
Rojas, representing MUFON, supported Peckman's presentation - to a point.
"There are probably E.T.s coming and visiting us and observing us," he said. But he stopped short of endorsing the authenticity of the Romanek video, prior to more "scientific work" being done to verify its content.
"We've gone through this many, many times where video that seems legitimate is released a little too early, without sufficient analysis by people with impeccable credentials" and "can really be slammed."
"We're not sure if this is a little guy," said Rojas. "I, personally, would not want to comment on what this may be. I think we need a lot more analysis to determine what this may be, before I would be comfortable saying what it is."
He said study of the video by a local film expert concluded that it had not been doctored, and that if the image appearing in the window was a puppet, that "it would be a very expensive and elaborate" puppet.
The video was soundly dismissed later Friday by Matthew Baxter, an investigator for the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society.
"It's a fake. A complete fake," said Baxter.
To underscore his point, he provided members of the media with a DVD he had produced which nearly replicated the Romanek video, which he said he and an associate had done "in a couple of hours for less than $100."
"Exactly what you have is a puppet being manipulated," he said of the Romanek video. He alleged "it was digiitally fixed, for the blinking" eyes of the alleged alien. "His assertion that it had not been messed with, is flawed."
Also, said Baxter, "It doesn't seem to me that, if there's a race of beings, that have conquered technology enough to come across the cosmos to visit us, to be invisible to whoever they want, that they would be caught being a peeping tom in somebody's window. That, to me, just doens't add up."
Meanwhile, the political implications of a ballot initiative (video: MyFoxColorado) in Denver to create an extraterrestrial affairs commission in a season when the city is gearing up for some 50,000 visitors - including perhaps 17,000 media members from around the world - is not sitting well with some city officials.
"I think it's absurd, and I think it's embarrassing to our city," said council member Charlie Brown. "I think it reflects poorly on our city, if it not only gets on the ballot, but is approved."
He doesn't doubt that Peckman will secure the roughly 4,000 petition signatures needed to put the commission idea before voters Nov. 4.
Although Peckman has dropped an provision that the commission would be funded by $75,00 in taxpayer dollars, Brown said, "This is embarrassing to Denver. How do you put a cost on that?"
(Editor's Note: There is a second video going around the net that has been confused with Peckman's video. If you look at the difference between the two windows, you will see immediately that they are NOT one and the same. This "other" video is a hoaxed film, a good piece of work, but unfortunately, not the real thing... see it below.- B J Booth)
Vietnamese Government Confirms UFO Explosion with Video

(KIEN GIANG, Vietnam) - An unidentified flying object exploded at about 10:00 AM on May 27th over the northern part of Phu Quoc Island, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
This is a region off the coast of the southern province of Kien Giang. Col. Nguyen Van Qui, military chief of the island district, reported the explosion and consequent discovery of debris.
It is reported that many residents found what are described as "many gray metal pieces, including a 1.5 meter long piece".
The island district authorities on Phu Quoc quickly contacted airline companies in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, but so far none have confirmed any accidents involving their flights.
The explosion happened at about 8 kilometers, or five miles, above the ground, the VNA reported, "and perhaps it was a plane, but authorities could not identify whether it was a civil or military aircraft."
The Phu Quoc Island People’s Committee mobilized local armed forces and volunteers to help rescue any survivors, believing there had been a disaster, but there were none to be found. Col. Nguyen Van Qui was the person who described the craft as an "unidentified flying object" according to the VNA.
The deputy commander of the Cambodian Air Force, Kung Mony, said the initial determination was that a foreign plane had crashed in the Cambodian province of Kampot, but that suggestion was later retracted. Villagers in Kampot confirmed that they heard a loud explosion and then found small chunks of metal near the coast, presumably from the craft. They did not elaborate as to what type of metal it was.
One possibility the VNA cited, is that a military aircraft taking part in a secret mission exploded. If that is the case, its country of origin has not claimed it.
The theory was given some weight by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) report which said: "The explosion happened at about 8 km above the ground, and perhaps it was a plane, but authorities could not identify whether it was a civil or military aircraft."
Unknown Object Photographed over Kaufman, TX-05-28-08
I'm sending you a capture I caught on 05-28-2008, at about 5:14 pm in Kaufman, Texas. I had been taking pictures of clouds most of the day, and captured several objects, but this one stood out to me and I thought I'd send it to you.
When I first zoomed in on it on my computer, I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. But, if you look at the black area closely, it appears to be forming a circle, a typical disc shape. I'm sending you a copy of the original and a crop of the object.(I have several more if you're interested).
Hot on the heels of the Flying Dorito and Inverted Meat Dish, spaceship spotters have been contacting the Express & Star in their droves to share their strange stories of the skies.
Tales have included a “hyperspeed bright light” darting across the Moxley skyline and three bright oranges orbs hanging silently over Bloxwich. Thomas Lloyd, aged 69, of Great Bridge Road, Moxley, said he was converted into a believer after seeing a bright light in the sky.
Mr Lloyd, a retired upholsterer, spotted the object two years ago outside the Moxley ’s Red Lion pub. He said: “It was too bright to be a star and definitely wasn’t a plane. It started off quite slowly but then suddenly went into hyperspeed. It stopped for a moment, came down and formed a triangle shape. Then it sped away again. It was a single bright light, and it was moving too fast to be anything of this earth. The way it moved and changed speeds and direction was very odd.
“I told my drinking buddies in the pub but they just looked at me like I’d had one too many, but I’d only had a few shandies.
“I know what I saw was not of this world.”
Margaret Bull, of Ashbourne Road, Bloxwich, saw three bright orange globes above her house at 9.30pm on February 10.
Mrs Bull, a retired sales worker, said: “It was a beautifully clear night, and they were just hanging there in the air silently. The globes were very, very bright. The balls were moving really slowly and headed in the direction of Cannock. My only regret is that I didn’t take a picture but I couldn’t move. My husband saw them too, and we are sure it was a UFO. I’ve never seen anything like it and probably never will again.
“We are not the sort of people to make things up or be silly – I am a believer now.”
This month the Express & Star told how a policeman spotted an “inverted meat dish flying through the air” above Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital in 1981. The tale came to light after the Ministry Of Defence released its very own X Files to the public for the first time.
Experts have branded the Black Country, and Wolverhampton in particular, a UFO hotspot.
Last December, scores of people reported seeing an orange triangle, dubbed the Flying Dorito, in the skies over Wednesfield and Dudley.
Light Phenomena Observed over Absecon Inlet, Atlantic City, NJ
Web site info:
The video footage below was taken on April 20, 2008, shortly after 10:00 PM from the North East video surveillance camera at Gifford Marine. The same phenomenon was also observed from Absecon Shores, Absecon, NJ. Accordingly, the estimated position of the observed phenomenon is approximately over Absecon Inlet, Atlantic City, NJ.
A number of observers have indicated hearing a number of loud "booms" at the same time. The object appears at approximately 2 minutes elapsed time into the video. The bright lights on the shore line are Atlantic City Casinos, primarily Borgata, Harrahs and Trump. If you also observed this incident please contact billjr@giffordmarineinc.com.
Email from Bill Gifford, Eyewitness, along with wife
Please check out the giffordmarineinc.com web site. In particular, (Did You See This?). My wife and I witnessed this through Russian made border patrol glasses from our house, located in Absecon Shores, New Jersey, on the night of April 16, 2008. I own a Marina located about seven miles south of Absecon and the security cameras picked up this footage.
I owned and operated sea clam vessels working off the North East coast of the US. During that time, I spent many nights at sea. I have never seen anything to equal the lights that we observed over the Ocean that night.
There was one large light that split into three or four smaller lights, they then seemed to move in unison and then returned to the larger light.
The objects showed no trace of any trails, like search lights, or lasers, they were there one second and disappeared just as quickly.
The camera was too far away to show them separate, but it still shows a remarkable event. Take note of the direction of travel and the length of time the light remains in the air. Also notice how bright the light gets compared to the lights of the casinos in Atlantic City. We saw this first hand and close up, and I can tell you this was something very strange, and at the same time very beautiful.
The angle of my glasses approximately East, and the angle of the camera, places it off the southern coast of Brigantine, NJ, near the Atlantic City Inlet.
The fighter jets from NAFEC, a base located west of Atlantic City, were up at the same time I observed this happen. Just after the lights vanished, a shock wave hit the surrounding area. It was reported on local radio the next morning. I hope this is a help to you.
Thanks,
Bill Gifford

Recent UFO Sightings Revealed from England

Published Date: 22 May 2008
By Sean Topham
A WRAGBY woman has said she saw the same UFO that featured in a report on last week's front page. Andrea Ward, one of our village correspondents, said she saw the same UFO revealed in a secret MOD file published for the first time on May 14 by the National Archives.
Mrs Ward was living in Huttoft at the time, December 1980, and was driving home from Nottingham with her family.
They spotted the UFO near Coningsby and said it followed them all the way to the outskirts of Sutton on Sea before it vanished.
Mrs Ward said it looked like a very bright search light and at first they thought it was a helicopter. She said they stopped and it stopped to their right over a field but when they wound down the windows there wasn't a sound.
Mrs Ward said: "It started off as a joke but as it followed us towards Sutton on Sea it really was scary.
"My little boy was in the car and he was terrified.
"It was the silence. We stopped and there wasn't a sound. That's what was really scary."
As reported last week, the MOD files gave details of a sighting by a woman driving from Tetford to Scamblesby in December 1980. She described it as a bright light from a globe-like object.
Another sighting from the same month came from an officer working in an air traffic control tower at RAF Coningsby.
A man who used to work at RAF Coningsby, who asked not to be named, said he dealt with UFO reports while working for the MOD in London. He said all reports were investigated and they all had explanations.
He said a lot of sightings are the effects of lights in space and reactions in the atmosphere to weather events.
There were a few isolated incidents which in most cases were people on the way home from the pub.
John Viner emailed us with this comment: "Around 1986 three of us viewed a trio of orange lights.
"We watched from Sutterton as they hovered over Fosdyke for a period of around 15 minutes and then dissappeared."
TV News Station Probing Long Beach, CA UFO Footage
By Tracy Manzer, Staff writer
LONG BEACH — Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane!
What the heck is it?
That's the question ABC-7 News has posed to Long Beach police
and local military experts after getting a copy of a tape that
shows an unidentified object flitting through our skies last
year.
The tape was made Dec. 25 by Long Beach Police Department
helicopter pilots who caught sight of the glowing blob while on
patrol around 11:30 p.m., said Sgt. David Cannan.
Because the officers could not identify the object, they took
video that was forwarded to a local military base for closer
scrutiny.
"We just asked them to take a look at it, in case it was a
possible security issue," Cannan said.
It was not, however, classified as an invasion by little green
men, silver ones or any other kind of imaginable space beast,
the sergeant assured.
Julia Pfeiffer, a producer at Channel 7, said their news piece
will take a look at the possible explanations for the item and
the story will air either today or Friday.
"We are approaching it fairly seriously," she said, "but we're
not doing this to scare people."
While neither military or local experts could tell the Press-
Telegram what precisely the object was, theories include a
possible prank or experimental military aircraft.
This was especially common in the 1960s, after an article
describing their construction appeared in a science magazine.
And, according to one of several Web sites that explain how to
build the balloons, "they do a good job of scaring the bejeebers
out of many people."
Cannan said the pilot's best guess was that it was a bag or
balloon with a flare attached to it, which would explain the
trailing sulfur-like light.
In the tape, the brightly lit object looks as though it's
traveling fast, but it could just be the effect of the
helicopter orbiting the item at its speedy pace with the
background flashing by, he said.

Illinois-Multi-Colored Lights
05-10-08-I was the manager on duty that weekend and I awoke to use the restroom. On my way back to bed from the bathroom, I noticed bright lights shining through the split in the window curtains. I thought it might be the police with their lights on, so I opened the curtains and to my amazement it wasn't the police.
It was several bright multi-colored lights in the sky in the shape of a circle just hovering about a few hundred feet above the ground. Then after several minutes (8 or 10 minutes), a bluish beam of light came from the center of the other lights and hit the ground about a hundred feet from my window. It was illuminating what seemed to be a dog in the parking lot.
Then after about 30 seconds, the beam of light just cut off. It was too dark to see if the dog had left, but when the beam of light shined on the dog it did not run away as I had expected it to. It seemed to be frozen in it's tracks. This seemed strange at first but then I remembered that a deer will freeze in it's tracks when in the headlights of a car.
Then after the beam cut off, the rest of the lights seemed to begin spinning clockwise and elevating slowly about another hundred feet or so, then they shot into the night sky at an alarming rate of speed. I could not even guess how fast. But faster than anything I have ever seen before. It was at an angle of about 45% until they just vanished or went out of range of my sight. I know this sounds hard to believe, but I saw what I saw, and I have never have seen anything like this before. I just wish I had my camera with me because nobody would have believed me if I told anyone, so I kept it to myself and my wife. Thank you for this opportunity to get this off my chest. I have been wanting to tell this account to someone other than my wife, who still does not believe it. source: www.mufon.com
Indiana-Flying Object Disappears
05-13-08-I don't believe in all of the hype of UFOs and frankly I can't stand to hear about sightings and see horrible pictures. But, about a year ago I was outside and looked over in the field, a plane seemed to have come down from the sky very quickly, so I thought. I started to freeze up thinking that it was going to crash not far from my home. Then like nothing at all it slowed down to turtle speed and stayed above the fields for a minute and disappeared, I mean literally disappeared. If it was a plane or whatever and flew back up, then it was way too fast for the eye to see.
While it was over the fields, it appeared to be oval or round in shape and it was fairly bright. Honestly, I froze in shock more or less, trying very hard to convince myself that it was a plane. I tried to tell my family about it, but couldn't find the words and I didn't want to sound crazy. I am a very level headed wife and mother, so I kept this to myself all this time. I don't why I decided to let it out here, I just know that it was eating me up inside and I had to get it out. source: www.mufon.com
North Carolina-Bright Object
05-13-08: 11:45 p.m. Intergalactic Contact Center received telephone call reporting sighting by 3 witnesses. Caller, a recent ASU (Appalachian State University) graduate, was on cell phone at local restaurant, Mellow Mushroom. He said they had just come out of the restaurant and he was looking North towards Howard?s Knob (mountain) when they spotted a bright object about the size of a dime streaming across the sky leaving a bright ?tail.? The occurrence lasted only a few seconds from initial viewing and disappeared. Witness reported same observation several times, indicating they gave consideration to seeing an airplane or helicopter, but nothing fit.

Ohio-Brilliant Fireball
05-21-08-Porter-This is my second strange object I've seen in four months. Even though I been more aware of looking skyward since the first sighting, both times I saw anything it was pretty well in front of me while driving. I was driving west toward the sunset (though the sun had already set behind the hills, it was still twilight). I was headed toward St Rt 554, two miles east of Porter, Ohio. The western sky was clear and blue. I saw directly in front of me, coming straight down it seemed, a silvery, brilliant fireball. It was in sight from maybe a 30 degree angle in the sky until it went behind some hills. At arm's length, it was as wide as a pencil.
I realize this is probably a meteor or falling satellite, but I have seen plenty of meteors ,this was more brilliant, white light, like a sparkler and bigger than any meteor I ever saw. I assume it was going straight down as it didn't get smaller as it went down(or larger). Most meteors I ever seen went across the sky, instead of straight down, and I never seen any in daylight. The fireball was just like a sparkler, it emitted an even brilliant light. It is nothing like seeing a craft, as I did in February, but it was a little strange. Texas-Silent, Low Flying Sphere
05-20-08-At around 1900 hours I was dispatched to the area of Hwy 59 South near Oak Colony on a shots fired call. The complainant advised there had been several shots coming from the creek behind the subdivision. My zone partner and I responded and checked the location and found nothing out of the ordinary.
After the checking the area, my zone partner and I met at Coletto Baptist Church which is located at the entrance of Oak Colony subdivision. My zone partner and I talked while standing outside of our patrol cars. Just after sunset, while still at the same location, we noticed a bright sphere in the southern sky. The night sky was clear so the sphere was easily observed. The sphere appeared to be a single ball of light, but did not appear to be emitting light. The sphere was moving north and appeared to be following Hwy 59 which runs north to south. We watched as the sphere moved north and I commented that the sphere was very bright to be so high in the sky. I believed the sphere was traveling at a high altitude because it appeared to be moving slowly.
As the sphere came closer to us, we realized the sphere was traveling at a low altitude and at a low rate of speed. My zone partner and I agreed that the sphere was approximately 2,000 feet above ground level. My zone partner was the first to comment that the sphere was making no sound. We both felt this was unusual because of its close proximity to the ground. As the sphere crossed over where we were standing, I noticed there were no side marker (wing) lights or tail lights on the sphere. It appeared there was no other type of structure around the sphere of light itself. Once again, we felt it was strange that we did not hear any sound coming from the sphere.
We watched at the sphere continued to travel north. From our point of view, when the sphere was in the area of Loop 77, it appeared to zig-zag to the right, and then back to the left. The sphere did this at least twice. We lost sight of the sphere when it neared the City of Victoria. In my estimate, we tracked the sphere for approximately 5-7 minutes.
In my opinion, the sphere was no fixed wing or rotary aircraft that I have ever seen. I feel that a normal fixed wing or rotary craft would have produced sound at the altitude it appeared to be flying. Also, there was no marking lights located in the proximity of the lighted sphere.
It should be noted that within two hours of observing the sphere, there were two power outages on opposite ends of the County of Victoria. I observed one of the power outages. The outage I observed was strange in how it occurred. I was driving on Sigfried St. in the City of Victoria. There was a very bright flash in the sky directly behind my patrol car. Instantly after the flash, power was lost in a large area of the city, and also in parts of the County of Victoria. There was not a sound of an explosion after the ?flash? in the sky. Usually it is consistent to hear an explosion and a flash after an electrical transformer blows. source: www.mufon.com
England-White, Disc-shaped Object
05-22-08-I am writing to report a white disc-shaped object with a tail of glowing, white mist shoot past my window while I was working last night 05-22-08 at around 3:05 AM, driving on the M 27 motorway in south England at the Hedge End junction.
It came from the north side of motorway, and shot straight past my windscreen to the south. It was actually so low that I ducked because I thought it was going to smack into the van. It startled me so I told some family members, but they said I was just seeing things and that I was tired, but I know what I saw and have no idea what it was or where it came from.
Please can you email me if anyone else in England that night saw anything or if you know of anything, because I would like to get a idea of what that thing was. I have found a pic on your web site which I have attached in this email similar to what I saw fly past my windscreen. source: www.ufocasebook.com
