UFO Photographed in Great Britain-May, 2006
UFO I am relaying this story on behalf of my father, who swore my mother and I to secrecy when it first happened because he was very scared by his experience and didn't want to be ridiculed if details ended up in the public domain. Over a year later, he's finally agreed to let me share details of this incident with MUFON because I've convinced him it should be recorded *someplace* publicly, even if he doesn't want to go public himself.

On May 1st 2006 my father had to drive from Chester, England to Porthmadog, North Wales, for work reasons. At approx 4:45 PM on the return journey, he was driving south, approaching the village of Gellilydan when he became aware of a "silhouetted cigar shaped object" flying 'gently' below cloud level in an easterly direction about two miles ahead of him. He lost sight of it a few times due to the landscape, but having passed by the village, it became apparent that it was flying slowly north (towards him). Assuming it was a 'regular aircraft' that he couldn't quite visualize properly, he was more interested than concerned at this point, and due to its apparent flight path over the open countryside, he figured it would clear him by less than a mile to the west when it passed. So, his interest was piqued ("is it a helicopter or a plane?" he wondered) and he reduced his driving speed to approx 20-30 mph in order to get a better view.

As the flying object approached a point about 3/4 mile south west of his vehicle, he realized it was actually 'cylindrical'. It had a reflective convex base and a very subtle (barely noticeable) "electric blue" aura. He could only really see the underneath due to its angle. This took him back ("my heart rate accelerated") and having a camera on him, decided to pull over onto a grass verge and take a photo.

As he did this and scrambled for the camera, he realized the object had accelerated in his direction (it was very high up) and a huge shadow enveloped the area for about a mile around. "It was like a very dark thundercloud was right over me." He pushed his head forward in the windscreen and looked up (awkward angle) - and to his horror could see that this thing was about 1/4 mile wide and just hovering beneath cloud level directly above the part of the road he was on. He said it had huge tiles on its convex base. He had never seen anything like it in his life. It was "impossibly enormous". He realizes -- due to the sheer size of this thing -- that he probably underestimated how far away it was previously, but in relaying this event we've decided to use distances as he "perceived them" at the time.

Anyway, his heart was pounding, he was truly terrified because he couldn't make sense of the object and he was in the middle of nowhere (Snowdonia National Park) and decided to get the hell out of there. He hastily started up his vehicle and pulled off when he noticed the shadow just disappear, "like somebody flicked a switch and the thundercloud vanished".

He looked around as he drove, pushed his face into the windscreen and looked up but he could no longer see it. Then (within sixty seconds), as he passed the Trawsfynydd Twin Nuclear Reactors, he became aware of it hovering above some high ground to the west. The camera was on the passenger seat so without stopping the vehicle he just instinctively picked it up, snapped, then accelerated to 70 mph intending to get out of the area as fast as possible. He was overjoyed when he realized this 'object' had appeared on the exposure because it proved he wasn't going mad and he *had* actually witnessed something very unusual. If it hadn't, he says he's not sure he'd have told my mother and I the story in case we thought he was cracking up.

Ever since, he has been scared of driving through rural areas alone, and won't drive at night time at all. (Not that it was night time when this incident occurred.) I can understand that. It's a good job he had to retire last summer really because he'd no longer be able to do his job due to the amount of driving involved.

Saucers In The Sky
UFO By Finlo Rohrer-BBC News Magazine

Wednesday, 4 July 2007-It's 60 years since the term flying saucer was coined and the most celebrated "extraterrestrial" episode - Roswell. Alien believers are dismissed as cranks, but even the earthly explanations of objects in the sky are fascinating.

Sixty years ago Kenneth Arnold saw something which changed his own life, the life of millions of others and impacted on popular culture like a shockwave.

Flying his plane near Mount Rainier in US state of Washington he observed a line of strange objects either crescent-shaped or disc-like, flying with the motion of a saucer skimming on water.

Arnold's sighting, quickly picked up by the press, was followed a fortnight later by the revelation of perhaps the most notorious episode in the history of UFOs, at Roswell in New Mexico.

Having announced it had recovered a "flying disk", the Army airfield backtracked and referred only to a weather balloon.

What followed was perhaps one of the greatest conspiracy theories of all time, involving post-mortem examinations of swollen-bellied grey aliens, the cloning of sophisticated extraterrestrial technology and an epic cover-up. Or not, as the case may be.

In the 60 years since 1947's first major wave of sightings, thousands of ordinary people have claimed to have seen inexplicable objects in the sky.

When the Ministry of Defence released papers on its own investigations into the phenomenon in 2006, it was revealed more than 10,000 eyewitness accounts had been collected.

And for every sceptic who prefers explanations of weather balloons and freak atmospheric conditions there is someone who genuinely believes intelligent life is visiting the planet.

Alien belief

A national newspaper survey in 1998 suggested 33% of men and 24% of women thought aliens had already visited the earth.

Such polls are testament to the powerful impact of six decades of media coverage, disputed science, heated mythology and Hollywood films. We have now completed six decades of projecting our hopes and fears onto the UFO phenomenon.

David Clarke, a lecturer in journalism, has spent 30 years studying UFOs and the sociology of the flying saucer sighting.

He is no believer in little extraterrestrial men, but believes mainstream scientists should recognise the rational explanations for sightings are themselves worthy of study.

"They wouldn't touch it," he says. "It's got such a bad press. Anything that people don't have an immediate explanation for - it must be little green men."

The "ufologists" who study the phenomenon comprise both sceptics and believers. They seek to "resolve" each incident, explaining away each aspect. And there is a wealth of explanations for most sightings that is as fascinating for sceptical enthusiasts as the notion of space visitors.

Cold War projection

Sundogs, or strange refractions of the sun in another part of the sky, burning space debris, weather balloons, ball lightning, meteors, disc-shaped or lenticular clouds, mirages, even the planet Venus low in the sky, are all classic methods of resolving UFO sightings.

But underlying them is a need also to explain people's desire to believe that a UFO sighting can be explained by alien activity. The timing of the start of the golden age of the UFO, in a Western world recovering from World War II and gearing up for the start of the Cold War, is significant.

"We were projecting things to reflect our fears and concerns about the Cold War," Mr Clarke says.

"Organised religion was in decline but when worried or concerned it is comforting to feel there is a greater power looking after us. It is quite nice to think there is another civilisation that has been able to overcome the things destroying our civilisation."

The UFO phenomenon is also linked with the modern reliance on conspiracy theories, a mixture of a need to believe in something more than the mundane in an increasingly rational world and an all-pervading distrust of authority.

As the Fortean Times, which this month dedicates an entire issue to the UFO anniversary, puts it: "UFOs fill a niche in the human spirit that thrives on wondrous ideas."

Earlier generations had also seen UFOs but without the term flying saucer in existence, they were labelled as other things.

UFO students say there are peaks and troughs in sightings that are probably based on cultural, social and political trends.

Golden age

Expert Paul Devereux says a new golden age during the 1990s, particularly after the broadcast of the cult television series the X-Files, has given way to a current wave of indifference.

Mr Clarke concurs, suggesting: "It could be the case that post- 9/11 people are more concerned about the threat from terrorism or the environment."

Mr Devereux has drawn on the work of controversial Canadian academic Michael Persinger and believes many unresolved UFO sightings can be explained by "earthlights", clouds of plasma being charged by strong electromagnetic fields occurring in areas of seismic activity.

Having nearly witnessed a UFO that could not initially be explained, Mr Devereux has dedicated his life to research.

"It bugged the hell out of me, almost gave me a mental breakdown. I couldn't make it fit into the everyday mundane world view."

Pilot Ray Bowyer was the principal witness to the most recent publicised UFO sighting in the UK.

Flying a commercial plane from Southampton to Alderney in the Channel Islands in April this year, Mr Bowyer saw two objects up to a mile across in the sky over Guernsey.

"I saw a bright yellow object, a light in the sky some miles ahead. I could see this specific shape of a flattened disc, like a CD on its edge, slightly tilted."

He says some of his passengers, as well as another pilot, saw the objects and he has been told they were picked up on radar.

Mr Bowyer's sighting may be a prime candidate for the "earthlights" theory, coming just days before the Dover earthquake. He accepts this as a possible explanation.

"I'm open-minded about everything. It would be a fairly perverse universe if we were the only inhabitants."

Despite the drop-off in interest in UFOs, the ufologists and their acolytes carry on their work, and the UFO-loving public continues to believe in conspiracies.

"No matter how much material the authorities produce and release the people who want to believe a conspiracy to hide aliens will never be satisfied," Mr Clarke says.

"It is such an emotional thing. They are convinced they are here, that they are walking among us."

Forum Member Takes Photograph of Bizarre Sky Formation-Staffordshire-ST-16
UFO July 3, 2007-I'm soliciting opinions on this object, photographed by myself outside my home in Stafford (ST16 area) yesterday. Does anybody else in Stafford use these forums? Have you seen anything similar? It's very odd, but I'm not convinced it's extra terrestrial in origin. It just seemed so... real. Well it would wouldn't it? Despite the weirdness of the object though, I'm skeptical. Maybe it does have a plausible explanation.

The picture was taken around sunset yesterday. It was a funny day. Cloudy one minute, rainy the next, the clouds clearing... before returning and raining again. The weather got stuck in a loop. But around sunset this amazing affect occurred with (as you can see) strobes of sunshine piercing through a thick cloud across the entire sky. My wife noticed the stationary, very reflective (like blue chrome) object behind the dark grey cloud first and being completely flummoxed about it, told me to grab my camera. As I raised the camera and increased the zoom, the object suddenly started moving at an incredibly fast speed (seemed to be heading in our direction but going upwards) so I just pressed the button several times. We got several pics, but it only appeared on the first one.

The object was definitely cylindrical, but with a strangely contoured convex base. There was a cross of incredibly bright light across the base, but a blinding (bright as the sun) ball of light at the front. (I say 'front' based on its trajectory.) I assume the whole top of the craft was bathed in this 'light' because you could see its aura around the entire thing.

It was gone in an instant... and we were left feeling a bit frightened for a few minutes. I suggested we look up a UFO site on the internet and post it anonymous seeking opinions because we have nothing to lose by doing so.

If any of our readers would like to comment on what this object may be, please comment on the existing forum thread, or you can direct your opinions directly to me.

Thanks, B J

Where are all the UFOs?

UFOs: The First Encounters

Alien Abductions

Photograph of UFO at Florida Air Show, 2005
It was practice for the 2005 Air & Sea Show in Ft. Lauderdale beach. I work in Opa-Locka Airport where the jets are stationed for storage and practice before heading off to the beach.

I was just taking pictures of the Thunderbirds practicing by our facility and DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING. When I went to my computer to see the photos I came across this one and THERE IT WAS! A real UFO, it can't be the other jets because they were flying in patterns behind the two in front doing the manuever, and this thing looks nothing like an F-16.

This is genuine and freaky. If you are a photo analyst please look at this photo with professional scrutiny and let me know what you think, thaanswerv@hotmail.com

New details on UFO case released
UFO Tom Bourton- BBC Wales news website

It's 60 years since the term flying saucer was first coined, and I have to admit I hold a rather cynical view when it comes to UFOs and alien life.

But no matter how much of an unbeliever you are, the idea of extraterrestrial life cannot fail to quicken the pulse and the notion has captivated the imagination of people all across the globe for decades.

And it's not likely to go away - the lure of the unexplained has long proved irresistible and, with space tourism becoming a reality, our fascination with close encounters can only grow.

Thirty years ago, a corner of south west Wales was caught up in a "flap" - a wave of sightings in an area - that became known as The Broad Haven Triangle.

So when details about these cases were released at the National Archive in Kew recently, I couldn't resist some Mulder and Scully action.

Leafing through the documents at Kew, the story began to unfold. It was April 1977 and Rosa Granville, who runs the Haven Fort Hotel in Little Haven, was in bed at around 2.30am when she was awoken by strange noise and lights.

Looking out of her window, she described seeing an object which looked like an "upside-down saucer" in the field next to the hotel and two 'faceless humanoid' creatures with pointed heads.

The incident, she said in a subsequent letter she wrote to her MP Nicholas Edwards, left her "agitated and disturbed and not the least bit desirous of another encounter".

"I would be pleased to hear of an explanation, it would greatly help to relieve the sense of shock I feel since my encounter," she added.

I shouted 'Hello, what are you doing there?'. They looked faceless. I couldn't see their features

Speaking to BBC Wales' news website, Mrs Granville recalled the object: "It was a bit like an upside-down saucer - it looked like a jelly to start with."

"There was so much heat - I was by the window - my face felt burned.

"There was light coming from it and flames of all colours. Then [the creatures] came out of these flames, that's what I don't understand.

"I shouted 'Hello, what are you doing there' - they looked faceless. I couldn't see their features."

She said she went to find other people in the hotel to show them, but that when she returned to the window a few minutes later, the objects and the men had gone.

When she visited the site of the alleged landing in the morning, she added there were "two inches of burned ground there".

On receiving Mrs Granville's letter back in 1977, Mr Edwards contacted the Ministry of Defence and Flight Lieutenant Cowan, an officer from RAF Brawdy, then visited the hotel.

In his report to MoD chiefs, Flt Lt Cowan wrote: "[Mrs Granville] told me that one night in April of this year she saw a round object 'like the moon falling down' land in a field at the back of her property. Two very tall, faceless 'humanoids' got out of this object (about the size of a mini bus) and appeared to 'take measurements or gather things'."

Flt Lt Cowan said he examined the landing site but "could find no evidence of a landing" and could offer no further explanation.

He added finally that, "should a UFO arrive at RAF Brawdy we will charge normal landing fees and inform you immediately".

Other incidents reported in the Broad Haven area at the time included a class of schoolchildren who claimed to have seen a spacecraft near their playground. Then a family said they saw several UFOs in the space of a week, as well as several sightings of silver suited creatures.

In his report, Flt Lt Cowan did mention the possibility that "a local prankster" was at work, and when contacted recently, he said the description of aliens from many witnesses "fitted exactly the type of protective suit that would be used in the event of a fire at one of the local oil refineries at Milford Haven".

This indeed seems to have been the case as in 1996, the Western Mail carried a report in which a 44-year-old businessman Glyn Edwards admitted he had wandered around the area in a silver suit in 1977 as a prank.

The fact the RAF did an investigation of a UFO encounter is unique, as far as I'm aware Dr David Clarke "Alien sightings were all the rage, so I took a stroll around for a bit of fun," he is reported as saying.

However, Mrs Granville remains insistent that she had not been the subject of a hoax.

"You will always get silly people pretending, but what I saw was definitely humanoid," she said.

Looking back now, Mrs Granville said she wished there had been an explanation from nearby RAF Brawdy, but that they had always denied their plane or their men were involved.

Researcher and lecturer Dr David Clarke, who has written a book called Flying Saucerers: A Social History of UFOlogy, said Mrs Granville's account was a big part of "a UFO flap" at the time.

"Despite the fact we know there was hoaxing in the area, the fact that Mrs Granville's account has remained consistent over 30 years shows she did see something unusual," he said.

"The fact the RAF did an investigation of a UFO encounter is unique, as far as I'm aware."

The truth is still out there...

'Out of the Blue': Do Aliens Exist?
UFO Fascination With Life Beyond Earth Inspires New Documentary

A new documentary called "Out of the Blue" examines the history of alien spacecraft sightings.

July 6, 2007-As the documentary "Out of the Blue" rightly points out, brilliant and reputable scientists believe that the conditions for intelligent life exist on thousands of planets. But then there's that other question that separates the scientists from the believers, the witnesses from the skeptics — if aliens are out there, have they come to visit?

James Fox, the producer of "Out of the Blue," says that aliens are out there. "They're flying around. They're here and they've been here."

He also believes that they have incredible technical ability, saying that they can "fly rings around our fastest jets. Yes. That's what I've been told. They can literally almost disappear in place."

"Out of the Blue" is an attempt to weed out the wackos and present credible witnesses who say they saw what looked like alien spacecraft. Witnesses like former President Carter, who said, "I saw one, but I don't know where. It just disappeared." And Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper, who says he saw "this typical saucer shape, double-cylindrical shape, metallic."

Flying Saucers

"I looked up and all of a sudden there was this, you know, I got to say it, flying saucer," said Sean Thackery, from Marin, Calif., one of the eyewitnesses in the film.

"You've got this phenomenon taking place that's never been properly explained," said Fox. "You know, people — people wanna know."

The subject of UFOs is one of those things that never gets a satisfactory answer, and never quite seems to go away. Now, 60 years after the reported crash of a UFO in Roswell, N.M., and with the French government releasing its UFO archives, there are new efforts to prove alien spacecrafts really exist.

The documentary begins with an odd, but in a way undeniable, incident that occurred in Phoenix in March 1997, known as the "Phoenix Lights."

Hundreds and possibly thousands of people, many of them looking at the Hale-Bopp comet, reported seeing an array of lights and an enormous delta-shaped craft. The first report of a strange flying object came about 8:20 p.m. from a former police officer in Paulden, Ariz. Over the next 40 minutes, people gave similar reports of an object along a 20-mile route south to Phoenix and Tempe.

"It's coming across the sky," said witness Tim Ley of Phoenix, "and as it's moving, it's blocking and unblocking the stars. There was actually a shape."

"It passed right in front of us. It was just about right above eye length," said Mike Fortson. "My estimate of the size of the craft from the nose as it passed us where we lived to the end of the left wing that passed in front of us was over 5,000 foot long."

There was such an uproar about what people described seeing that ABC News did a story about it back in 1997. At the time, then Arizona Gov. Fife Symington called a news conference, spoofing the whole thing by bringing an "alien" into the room.

'I Know What I Saw'

What Symington did not say then was that he also had seen the object over Phoenix. But in "Out of the Blue," he says that "we all experienced a very exciting sighting of some kind of a craft of unknown origin. Nobody's ever been able to explain it. … Most of us feel that it was definitely, you know, of alien origin. Enormous. Inexplicable."

Symington is an Air Force veteran, and a pilot. When asked whether he was worried about speaking out, he said, "I know what I saw and what I believe and I'm not afraid to say it publicly. … I'm, I'm really not concerned about somebody's opinion about that, frankly."

Among other claims, Fox focuses on a 1980 report of UFO sightings at an American air force base in England — the so-called "Bentwaters" incident. Three former Air Force security officers told Fox about actually touching a small, strange craft that landed outside the base.

"There's no doubt about it, there's some type of strange, flashing red lighting ahead," said Lt. Colonel Halt in the documentary. "The closer we got, the more the white light dissipated, but what appeared was a triangular craft. When we approached it, it was, I'd say it measured probably about nine feet long, maybe six feet high."

Sgt. Jim Penniston made drawings of what appeared to be symbolic drawings that, he said, were on the skin of the craft.

'That's Not How Science Works'

But when it comes to UFOs, there are plenty of skeptics. One man who makes his living as a professional skeptic is, well, skeptical.

Michael Shermer, the editor of Skeptic Magazine, says, "The parade of astronauts or police officers or politicians like Jimmy Carter — it's irrelevant. Because they're human and they're brains and nervous systems and sensory apparatus are structured just like the average Joes."

Shermer spends a lot of time with reports of UFOs and space aliens, and has this to say about the documentary: "Um, the facts are true. The, uh, the story is well told and well produced. But that's not how science works. In science we have to have some way of testing to get an answer. It's this or this. And we have to have some way of weighing the evidence. And short of an actual experiment to run you have to have debate."

UFO sightings, even the most interesting ones, tend to share similar characteristics. There are no pictures, or the pictures are blurry. Or maybe there are pictures, but they disappeared into government archives never to be seen again.

That's what the late astronaut Gordon Cooper said, but the documentary says that, "Not every government chooses to deny the existence of UFOs. Since the fall of communism in 1989, information surrounding the subject has become much more accessible in Russia."

A Leap of Explanation

The documentary ends by saying that, "The discovery that we are being visited by extraterrestrials would be one of the greatest in human history. Such a discovery would profoundly alter the perception of ourselves and our place in the universe."

But Shermer remains unconvinced. "You can't discount the fact, unfortunately, that people lie … or they misperceive and then tell the story incorrectly or exaggerate. Everybody knows about the human foibles of deception and self-deception and exaggeration. We all do it. So unfortunately we can't just, we can't always count [on] eyewitness accounts being reliable."

Shermer says the problem comes in a kind of leap of faith — with UFOs it's a leap of explanation.

"In science it's OK to just say, 'Let's just withhold judgment for now and do more research. We don't have to commit to some big, grand theory of aliens visiting us. Let's just say we don't know what it is.' … But we have to follow the standards of evidence in science that we apply everywhere else. In no other science would anybody accept just a few random anecdotal stories and grainy videos and blurry photographs."

"The question itself I think is legitimate," he said. "It's interesting, it's fascinating. It's mythic in scale … one of the grand questions. It's like the God question or, you know, the meaning-of-life question. It's one of those, on that scale. So you'd have to be made of wood not to be interested and, you know, have they come here? Are they up there?"

Strange UFO sightings over Didim, Turkey
UFO Posted on Tuesday, July 03 @ 10:17:08 CDT by editor

DIDIM became the UFO sighting capital of Turkey when several people reported seeing strange lights in the skies.

The strange yellowish melon-shaped ball was spotted by the Police Academy in Yesilkent, while regulars at the Ark Cafe Bar, in Hunters Valley, spotted the same UFO-style lights at about 9.30pm last Saturday night.

Phil and Lorraine Quibell said they spotted the strange lights heading towards them but hundreds of metres off the ground as they walked on the Yesilkent road, close to the police academy at about 9.30pm.

They described how the melon-shaped object was moving fast and in a straight line before swerving towards the police academy direction and towards the sea before disappearing over the horizon.

Mr Quibell, aged 52, formerly from Preston, said the object was a bright sun colour at the top but faded to a yellowish-moonlight colour below.

There was no noise coming from it either before or after they had seen it.

He said: “It was something that I had never experienced in my life and I am still trying to explain it away rationally 48 hours after we had seen it.

“But both of us have said that we have never seen anything like it in our lives.”

The UFO-sighting ironically comes nearly 60 years to the day when the unidentified flying object phenomena began.

Mr Quibell said: “There were two guards at the police academy who saw it and they were looking in the air and could not believe it. The object did not have wings or landing lights so it was definitely not a plane.

“It was probably the size of a plane. It is very difficult to explain it. I only wish I had taken my camera with me. I watched the object for what seemed a few minutes but may have been only seconds before it veered away and out to sea.”

Meanwhile, Mark and Alana Weatherall , who were with children Paige and Josh, had been with friends at the Ark Bar when they spotted the bright light over the Yesilkent area at about the same time.

Alana said: “It was like a bright light but nothing like a plane or a helicopter. It seemed to hover for a number of seconds and burn like a white ball of light and then it just faded out altogether.”

Mark added: “What surprised us was that it seemed to go vertically up from its original position. It was a weird experience but it definitely wasn’t a plane. It must have been a UFO.”

Captain Achille Zaghetti's Close Encounter
UFO The Western Daily Press newspaper, of Bristol, England, reports on June 15, 2001:

On the night of 21 April 1991, the term 'close encounter' took on an altogether more significant meaning for the crew and passengers of a London-bound airliner. At 9.00 pm Captain Achille Zaghetti, who was piloting a McDonnell MD-80 aircraft, was amazed to see an unidentified flying object pass his aircraft as it flew over the coast of Kent at a height of more than 22,000 feet. As the UFO was no more than 1,000 feet above the airliner, and the incident therefore classed as a 'near-miss', an official inquiry was launched by the CAA.

Approximately two weeks later the following brief statement was issued:

"The pilot said the object was light brown, round, three meters long, and did not describe any means of propulsion, "The aircraft was under the control of London air traffic control center who had no other aircraft in the vicinity, but consistent with the pilot report, a faint radar trace was observed ten nautical miles behind the Alitalia aircraft. "Extensive inquiries have failed to provide any indication of what the sighting may have been." But more was to come. The next incident to occur took place on June 1, 1991, when a yellow-orange cylindrical object, ten feet long, was seen at close quarters by the crew of a Britannia Airways Boeing 737 en route to London from Dublin.

Sixteen days later, yet another cylindrical-shaped UFO was sighted, this time by one Walter Leiss, a German engineer aboard Dan Air flight DA 4700 as it headed toward Hamburg.

Air traffic controller: "was it an aircraft?"

January 6, 1995, Captain Roger Wills and copilot Mark Stuart were beginning their descent towards Manchester Airport in a Boeing 737 twin jet with 60 passengers on board. Seventeen minutes before touchdown, a mysterious, triangular-shaped UFO flashed past the right-hand side of the aircraft at a distance described as being "very close" - so close, in fact, that the crew instinctively "ducked" in their seats.

This is an extract from the conversation between crew of the B737 and the radar controller. B737: "We just had something go down the RHS just above us very fast." MANCHESTER: "Well, there's nothing seen on the radar. Was it an aircraft?" B737: "Well, it had lights; it went down the starboard side very quick [and] just slightly above us, yeah." MANCHESTER: "Keep an eye out for something, I can't see anything at all at the moment so, must have been very fast or gone down very quickly after it passed you I think." B737: "Okay. Well, there you go!"

06-29-I was in the bathroom and saw a bright light outdoors and it was coming from the sky and I looked up and it was a odd shaped thing that had every possible color I've ever seen, then the light went off and it was hovering low to the ground and suddenly it sped off faster than anything I ever saw. source: www.mufon.com
California-Two Orange Lights
06-29-I live on top of nob hill, seen from angel island to south San Francisco., early Fri morning, I saw 2 orange lights due south. the lights were one object, were hovering, and though far away was silent. I had some drinks but saw these lights. I ran and got my camera took a shot - nothing, but kept watching. it seemed then to do a 180, saw a white light in the rear and it disappeared. the sky was clear, little fog.

I looked around in the area and saw nothing, it was gone. my view is was to the left of Sutro tower. I thought it may be a plane, but no other traffic and it was too late to fly. I get a lot of copters, but news and again it was silent and too late/early in am. i have always believed, never saw anything like this, except when I was a kid at my house near Muir woods - different type of sighting (haunting and still troublesome)and too much to type. if anyone saw something that early morning. source: www.mufon.com

Florida-Direction Changing Lights
06-28-My Nephew and I were cruising down, I believe 441 (I'm new in the area) going North when we saw odd-shaped lights up ahead in the distance. They were odd-looking enough to get joking comments from me about it being a UFO. As we got closed, we realized it was moving very slowly, practically hovering.. As we got even closer, it changed directions from traveling south west eventually east. As it got closer and closer, we were very surprised to see how slowly it was moving. It seemed like maybe 40-50 miles per hour.

The "wings" were large - the size of 3 or 4 passenger plane wings. There were lights beneath these wings. As it traveled east directly above us, I opened my window to get a better look. I didn't hear anything. It was a few hundred feet above us. We should have heard something. I got the best look at it through my moon roof. If I would have drawn a picture of it, it would have come out a lot like that picture.

It was absolutely not a plane (it had no body) or a helicopter. It was traveling extremely slow and silently. I have no idea why I didn't try to follow this thing and take pictures with my camera phone. They probably wouldn't have come out but I really don't know why I didn't decide to follow it more. I suppose I didn't really believe that I saw what I saw when I was seeing it... I could have turned right and followed it a little longer, but I didn't. We're both shocked that we didn't look further into whatever this was... It was flying beneath the clouds. The clouds were grayish white - making it very easy to see this object... source: www.mufon.com

Florida-Color Changing Object
06-30-Witnessed a bright red continuous large light coming from the eastside of Indianapolis and proceeded to the southwest side. Object was below cloud coverage when first noticed and then changed from red to orange once object moved through cloud coverage. Upon going through cloud coverage the object started to fade out of sight. No blinking lights were observed coming from the object and approximate speed of an airplane. Nine other witnesses observed the same light. source: www.mufon.com
Indiana-Ball of Fire
06-29-My boyfriend and I was driving down the road. I noticed a ball of fire in the sky. I thought it was a firework, but it wasn't it didn't go out. It was an overcast night, so there was just a wall of clouds. It was heading North on the east side of Indianapolis, then it changed and went West. We watched it for 4 mins. It started to go up, and then disappeared into the clouds. It was going about as fast as a airplane. source: www.mufon.com
New York-Unknown Object Photographed
06-23-on Saturday June 23, approximately. 11:30 am three sets of two USA fighter jets flew over our camp ground area and seemed to be flying very low. Didn't think that was normal? Within 15 min later I was near the open water setting up my beach chair and this object caught my eye. I then grabbed my camera and two pictures. source: www.mufon.com I have had the film developed and have proof of this event. The location of event was on the Hudson river, nine miles north of lake Lucerne. If your organization is interested in my photos, feel free to call me at home. 518-731-7580 source: www.mufon.com
