Interpreting the MUFON Stephenville UFO Radar Report: What does it say?
    Steve Hammons
    written by Steve Hammons

July 14, 2008-What are some of the key points in the report released Thursday, July 10, 2008, that was prepared by Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) investigators?

The "special research report" is titled "Stephenville Lights: A Comprehensive Radar and Witness Report Study Regarding the Events of January 8, 2008, 4 pm to 8 pm."

The report's authors, Glen Schulze and Robert Powell, are identified as highly-trained experts in technical and scientific fields relevant to this investigation. Schulze in particular is reported to have an extensive background in radar systems.

Although the report itself includes many sections of a highly technical nature, much of the language in it is plain-spoken.

    POINTS TO CONSIDER

According to Schulze and Powell, the following elements emerged in their investigation:

    1) Several radar facilities in the region surrounding the Stephenville, Dublin and Selden region provide radar coverage for that area. Some of this data was provided to the investigators.

    2) Military commands in the area did provide some helpful information, but other information did not seem to be forthcoming in response to Freedom of Information Act requests by the investigators.

    3) Several military aircraft were in the skies the evening of Jan. 8, 2008, and were conducting flights in the nearby military operating area (MOA). Some of these military aircraft had transponders turned on and some had transponders turned off. Some military flights veered into civilian airspace over the Stephenville region. There is no immediate explanation for this.

    4) The investigators suspect that an Airborne Warning and Command System (AWACS) aircraft was circling the area, based on radar data.

    5) A very large unidentified craft or object was detected by radar. According to the report, "This object had no transponder and was tracked on radar for over an hour. Most of the time, the object was either stationary, or moving at speeds of less than 60 mph. At 7:32 pm, the object was tracked accelerating to 532 mph in 30 seconds and then slowing to 49 mph only 10 seconds later."

    6) The location and direction of flight of this object correlated with the reports from reliable eyewitnesses on the ground.

    7) In the report summary, the authors state, "As to what these witnesses saw, it is difficult to determine. It was not any known aircraft. The enormous size of the object, its complete silence, and its ability to travel at high rates of speed and to also remain stationary or travel at slow speeds, is not explained by any known aircraft."

    8) The object or craft proceeded in a direction toward the Bush ranch at Crawford for over one hour and eventually was detected as being 10 miles away from the ranch. According to the report, "There was no indication that any of the military jets reacted to the unknown aircraft that was without a required transponder ..." (However, see point number 9.)

    9) Witnesses on the ground did report that military jets were apparently in pursuit or accompanying an unusual object. The report's authors point out that, "These jets do not show up on radar. If their altitude was under 2000 feet, as described by the witnesses, then they would have been too low to be detected by the nearest FAA radar."

    NATURAL QUESTIONS

There are many other important points in the MUFON report by Schulze and Powell. If we read these details and also read between the lines, we might come up with the same kinds of questions that the witnesses in the Stephenville area have about the UFOs they saw.

Some of these questions might include the following:

    1) Was the object seen by multiple highly reliable witnesses, including several experienced law enforcement officers, a secret advanced or experimental U.S. craft or device?

    2) If so, why would it be operating over a populated area where it could be easily observed?

    3) Is it an unknown or truly unidentified object that has not previously been seen or encountered by U.S. defense and intelligence personnel?

    4) Is it a known flying object or craft that is familiar to U.S. defense and intelligence personnel?

    5) If so, what is its point of origin?

    6) If so, is the object or craft dangerous or was it trespassing in a manner that was unacceptable?

    7) Was the object or craft believed to be friendly, hostile, neutral or is this unknown?

It is natural for intelligent Americans to wonder about these kinds of questions. Although we realize that there are sensitive matters that cannot be released to the general public (and our adversaries around the world), it could be helpful for American citizens to understand more about these kinds of puzzling situations.

In fact, people around the world have had similar strange encounters and the governments, researchers, media and the public in other countries also wrestle with these kinds of situations. According to some sources, there is an ongoing process of acclimation to prepare Americans and people internationally for more information about these kinds of scenarios.

Keeping our feet on the ground, with strong hearts and calm minds, we can continue to learn more about the Stephenville UFO incidents and possibly even more useful information.

Perfect Circles Found in Ground in New Mexico
New Mexico Circles New Mexico-07-12-08-My husband found these circles Monday, July 14, and called to see if I knew anything about them. He was going into the horse arena to spread with our manure spreader when he noticed them. I was home all weekend, and did not hear anything out in the arena.

The only thing that I can think back about that was unusual was that sometime late in the night on Saturday, I woke up to find my lab pup up on the love seat in our bedroom looking out at the arena. Once I spoke to him, he just gave me a strange look and laid back down. When there is someone or something on or near the property, he and my other dogs bark quite loudly. He did not even growl!

The circles are approximately 20 ft. in diameter and approximately in the ground about 1-2 inches. There are absolutely no tracks leading up to the arena from anywhere on or near our property.

If you would like pictures, I can send you an e-mail and also there is a video that a local tv station did on Tuesday the 15th. If you go on KOAT.TV and type in the search engine "crop circles in east mountains" it will pull up the page with the segment that they did along with the aerial view of the arena.

You will see tire tracks in the arena, which was made by us with our manure spreader, but no other tracks can be found.

    'UFO' Claim Brings MoD Response
    UFO-Recreation by Witness
Lights in the sky: One reader sent in this recreated image of what he saw.

    Published Date: 18 July 2008

    By Luke Page

The Diss Express has been handed exclusive images following last week's article about mystery lights seen in south Norfolk. One image came from Brad Roberts, of Bressingham, who took photos of a party in the village and noticed a strange light in the top corner of one.

He said: "I thought it must have been a flash, but I can't really see any reason for it.

"I thought it could have been the moon, but it wasn't out that evening, and it was too late in the evening for it to be the sun reflecting off something. Aircraft lights look much smaller as well, like stars."

Mr Roberts, who has lived in Bressingham for about eight years said he had never seen anything like it before, but said it possibly could have been some kind of military aircraft.

Another reader, from Diss, has sent in a recreated image of what he saw, similar to the description of Jeremy le Poer Power's sighting, featured in last week's Diss Express.

His reconstructed photo shows a beam of light, which he described as white with a faint yellow centre, which was flashing on and off, and was moving quickly.

The reader did not want to be named but said: "I can't explain what I saw and I certainly don't want the public to think I am mad or anything, I just thought these may help jog people's memories or help in some way."

Many readers have speculated that the sightings could be linked to military aircraft due to the amount of airbases in the region.

A statement from the Ministry of Defence department responsible for UFO sightings, said they had not received reports of any in the area, but were unable to confirm aircraft activity in the area at the time of the bulk of the sightings.

The MOD has however released what it describes as 'X-files' on the National Archives website, which include UFO files dating back to 1970.

An MOD statement said: "To date, independent experts have concluded that there are realistic explanations behind alleged UFO reports, such as aircraft lights or natural phenomena.

"Reports are examined by the Ministry of Defence, solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.

"If required, sighting reports are examined with the assistance of the Department's air defence experts.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, no further work is undertaken to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

Author Fueled America's 1950s Fascination with Flying Saucers
    Gray Barker
    Published: July 13, 2008 01:29 am

    By Tricia Fulks

    Charleston Daily Mail

CLARKSBURG — The late Gray Barker inspired the “Men in Black” movie.

The popular author from Clarksburg wrote extensively about the Flatwoods Monster, Mothman and other weird subjects.

In one magazine article after another, Barker helped to fuel America’s fascination with flying saucers in the 1950s.

    But that’s not all.

“I found that there was more to this guy than UFOs,” said Bob Wilkinson, a notable West Virginia filmmaker who’s now producing a documentary on Barker. “He’s a complex character.”

As for the documentary, “It’s a West Virginia product, so I’m pretty proud of that,” Wilkinson said.

Barker was born in the tiny hamlet of Riffle in Braxton County in 1925. He went to nearby Glenville State College and got his degree in teaching.

He taught for a while in Maryland but then came home to West Virginia where he booked films and managed theaters in the Clarksburg area.

“He would find these films that Marilyn Monroe was in as an extra, and he would acquire them for the drive-ins and advertise them as Marilyn Monroe double features,” said David Houchin, special collections librarian at the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library, which has a room dedicated to the life and works of Barker. It is crammed with books, articles and manuscripts.

“Maybe he was the type of person who could fool you and you never resented it,” Houchin said.

And fooling is exactly what Barker specialized in.

In 1952, Barker went to Braxton County to investigate the infamous Flatwoods Monster.

Residents claimed to have seen a glowing object fly across the sky, and went to the woods where it landed.

They said they saw a creature with glowing red eyes that smelled like something they’ve never smelled before.

Barker’s report about the strange beast was published in “Fate” magazine.

Houchin said this represented Barker’s “entry into the field of paranormal.”

That’s when Barker began asking around in earnest and writing about extraterrestrials and UFOs.

Houchin said Barker was really fooling his audience. He said Barker himself didn’t believe in these conspiracies, but would simply write about it and pass it off as fact.

Houchin said Barker was “not profoundly committed to the limits of fact,” so he was essentially writing science fiction.

This is the type of writing Barker did until he died in 1984 at the age of 59 in a Charleston hospital.

Throughout his career he published his own UFO newsletter in Clarksburg and wrote multiple books. His most-recognized book was his first one, “They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers.”

In that book, a central element was friend and fellow writer Albert Bender.

Bender was the editor of “Space Review,” a UFO periodical for which Barker was a correspondent.

In the last issue of “Space Review,” the newsletter’s overall theme was that the mystery of UFOs was no longer a mystery.

It was reported that Bender was visited by three men in black suits who had threatened him.

This story gave Barker the opportunity to poke fun at the situation, writing that extraterrestrials were actually the “men in black,” which was the basis of his final book, “MIB: The Secret Terror Among Us.” This became the inspiration for the hit 1997 movie.

Barker was published in many different newsletters, including his own called “The Saucerian.” He also investigated the Mothman creature in Point Pleasant, which resulted in his book “The Silver Bridge.”

But besides his career as a writer, Barker was living another life that was quite controversial at the time.

Houchin said there was a reason Barker left teaching in Maryland. He said he was most likely blackballed for being a homosexual.

“Either he hated teaching, or he was forced out,” Houchin said.

Houchin said Barker was a “smart guy in a pretty uncomfortable situation.”

“He was leading the life of a clandestine gay man in Clarksburg, W.Va., in the ’50s and ’60s,” Houchin said. “Barker was reasonably accepted. Nothing serious happened.”

But despite a few run-ins with the law and his reputation around town, Barker was very well known locally for his writing.

“He was that guy that came to your school and talked to you about flying saucers,” Houchin said.

Houchin said too much alcohol consumption for too long probably contributed to his death, though many suspected he had AIDS.

“It’s hard to say,” Houchin said. “We don’t know.”

Houchin said Barker was never a serious UFO researcher, but was more a “folklorist” who would hear other people’s stories and publish them.

“Barker was frankly lying to people about UFOs,” Houchin said.

But he added, “Barker’s contribution to popular culture is significant.”

If ETs Landed Tomorrow by Steve Bass
    UFO-Depiction
Steve Bass is a Ufologist who believes in the scientific approach to the UFO phenomenon. He is an investigator for the Mutual UFO Network, and a Fellow of the Research Institute on Anomalous Phenomenon based in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

July 14, 2008-There are those who believe that aliens are already among us in some capacity. In this context, we are not talking about aliens from other countries, but aliens from other worlds. The scientific term for otherworldly aliens is extraterrestrial biological entities, or EBEs. Some believe that EBEs have been communicating with and/or helping the American government since the infamous Roswell, New Mexico crash of 1947.

These EBEs are secreted in some classified location, maybe Area 51 or in secret underground structures at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, assisting us with technological innovations such as fiber optics, Kevlar, and Velcro.

Others believe that EBEs actually look like humans, either by virtue of similar biology or some progressive form of disguise, and walk amongst us daily. Possible, but not likely since they would be exposed to the same dangers of society that all humans experience, such as drive-by shootings or traffic accidents.

I have yet to hear of an EBE involved in a traffic accident, transported to an emergency room somewhere, and having to explain why his heart is on the wrong side of his chest or why he has two stomachs! Hmm.

I don´t think there are "Men in Black" running behind EBEs hiding or rendering explanations for these anomalies. Assuming that EBEs are not already among us, how would Americans react if there was a public landing of an obviously alien craft?

Studies done decades ago by the Brookings Institute on this subject said American society would basically fall apart at the seams. People would lose their belief in government, rule of law, and religion. Anarchy would rule the streets similar to the riots that occurred during the New York City Blackout of 1977 and the Rodney King Riots in Los Angeles on April 29, 1992.

Some (not all) Christian faiths do not allow for life to exist anywhere but on planet Earth. They carry the belief that Jesus Christ died for our sins and no one else´s because no one else exists. In reality, though, the Bible does not say there are no other life forms in the universe, and Christ does make reference to other flocks, of which we know not. The big question would be whether these faiths accept these new alien beings as more of God´s creation or as the Nephilim referred to in the book of Genesis, fallen angels corrupting mankind.

Current studies show that a majority of Americans believe in the existence of aliens. As noted in Stanton Friedman´s new book Flying Saucers and Science, this belief increases in direct relation to higher education, meaning that the more intelligent or educated a person is, the more apt they are to believe in the existence of alien life.

Exposure to the concept of alien life through such venues as the science fiction genre of movies and books, documentaries on such channels as SciFi Channel, History Channel, and Discovery Channel, and public education from organizations like the Mutual UFO Network has taken a good amount of the notoriety and fear from the subject.

Previously, reference was made to the crash of an alien craft. In July 1947, a debris field was found on the Foster ranch near Roswell, New Mexico by ranch foreman William "Mac" Brazel. Debris ranged in size and description and was spread over a very wide area.

Nearby, the remains of a craft vaguely shaped like a saucer was located, obviously the same craft that the debris belonged to. Several EBEs were found beside the craft, at least one of which was still alive, others dead and exposed to the desert climate for several days.

This crash and the subsequent recovery operation had numerous witnesses, many of whom gave statements to the media, UFO investigators, and researchers about their experiences.

Again referring to Friedman´s book Flying Saucers and Science, I find it interesting that the psychological trauma that was predicted by the Brookings Institute did not manifest in the lives of these witnesses, some of whom testified to seeing alien bodies both living and in various states of decomposition.

These witnesses went on to live quiet, successful, and happy lives, raising children and grandchildren, going to work, and going to church. If they did not manifest this troubled psychology, why expect the majority of the American public to experience this?

Humans do have a fear of the unknown. This natural fear manifests to ensure survival. This fear of the unknown does not deter the human spirit. Humans also have courage and a hunger to understand and to learn. I´m sure there will be some screaming ninnies, but it seems more reasonable that the American public will simply incorporate this new fact of life into their daily routine, and continue life as usual with minimal changes that such knowledge would result in.

Glowing Object Videotaped in San Antonio, TX
UFO Image San Antonio, TX-06-18-08-On June 18, 2008, a bright glowing object was filmed traveling west. As I was returning home from the store, I noted an extremely bright, gloqing object. It had no FAA lights visible, and the object appeared to be pulsating.

The unknown object was very low in altitude. I used the top of the trees as a reference point. When zooming in, a bright, orange glowing object can be observed. The UFO can be seen descending below the trees, and out of sight.

The unknown object was not an aircraft. I am sending you a still frame grab, and the video clip for you to analyze.

    thanks,

Who Are the People Who have Seen a UFO?
    UFO-Depiction
Submitted by SHNS on Tue, 07/15/2008 - 16:33. By DANIEL COLLINS, Scripps Howard News Service national

Helen Rhine was 16 when she saw a UFO in Amarillo, Texas.

She had just finished watching a lunar eclipse at 2 a.m. one day in 1958. Suddenly, she saw three lights traveling swiftly and silently in a V shape across the sky.

"I was instantly terrified," said Rhine, now 66 and a retired software engineer in Wylie, Texas.

    Rhine's story is hardly unique.

A survey conducted by the Scripps Howard News Service and the University of Ohio found that about eight percent of Americans say they have seen a mysterious object in the sky that might have been a visitor from another world.

Earlier this year, Marshall Franks of Gulf Breeze, Fla. was at a neighbor's house when he took pictures of an unusual rain cloud passing overhead. When Franks, a 52-year-old musician, uploaded pictures of the clouds to his computer, he noticed three orange, pill-shaped objects in a V formation.

Survey respondents said they saw objects in the shape of lighted orbs, hovering without making any noise, either alone or in V formations.

"I just know I got a picture of something strange," Franks said. "I'm not going to say it's anything, but I'd like to have some professional's opinion."

Franks said he believes the government has withheld information about mysterious incidents.

He sent his photos to the Pensacola News Journal, but otherwise only told a few close friends about his experience.

Some respondents, like 53-year-old Mai-Janne Merklein, feel uncomfortable sharing their stories with others, fearing they'll think they're crazy.

The school bus driver from Springfield, Mass. said she twice saw floating orbs, the first in 1980 outside Dover, Del. when she and three friends pulled their car over to switch drivers. They noticed a vaguely spherical orb of light moving overhead; it hovered silently then quickly flew away.

"When I told my father, he said it was probably a military something or other. I didn't argue," she said.

On another occasion, while hiking with a friend in Holyoke, Mass., Merklein saw a similar object.

Rhine said she didn't tell anyone her story until nearly forty years later, when her half-brother said he also had an experience he believes was extraterrestrial.

He was in Amarillo when an extremely bright white light began pouring into his friend's home. Peering out a picture window to investigate, Rhine's half-brother and his friend saw the silhouette of a humanoid creature, just over four feet tall with a large cranium out of proportion with its small frame. Before summoning enough courage to open the door, Rhine said, the light had disappeared.

Rhine said she is no longer afraid to tell her story.

"I don't have any reservations now; I'm old," she said.

The survey revealed that people living in rural areas of the country or in suburbs were twice as likely than urban dwellers to report UFOs. Some respondents said this might be due to light pollution in urban centers blocking the night sky.

    Still, seeing isn't necessarily believing.

Respondents like 69-year-old Lindsey Ivey of Ellijay, Ga. aren't convinced their sightings are actually extraterrestrial.

Ivey said on two occasions he saw four mysterious lights hovering in a T shape near his former home in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Despite this, Ivey does not believe intelligent life exists beyond earth, partly because of his Christian faith and also since he believes there are too many circumstances needed for a planet to support life.

"If God had made another planet, it would have to have the right amount of oxygen and things like that," Ivey said. "Could there be life out there? There could, but that would have to be proven to me."

The survey revealed that people who have attended church recently are also about a third less likely to report having seen a UFO.

Ivey said he believes students at nearby Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University caused the lights.

Robert Garner, a 62-year-old safety-training supervisor in Nesbit, Miss., isn't sure if his experience was extraterrestrial or divine.

He was deer hunting before sunrise one December morning in 1995 when the wooded area around him suddenly became brightly illuminated for about seven seconds before returning to normal. He said he never saw any object or source of the light.

"There was no sound, no shaking, no movement; all of a sudden, it was as if someone just turned on a light, this beautiful green, golden color," he said. "It was either an angel, or a UFO came down and took a picture of us."

Garner said for weeks after the incident he no longer needed his glasses to see.

Not all encounters with UFOs are so isolated.

On March 13, 1997, Fran Chodacki, a 62-year-old Page, Ariz. resident was one of thousands who witnessed the "Phoenix Lights," a mile-wide V-shaped formation of lights visible over Phoenix. The lights reportedly moved slowly across the city's skyline for about three hours. Chodacki was living in nearby Scottsdale, Ariz. at the time.

She said she does believe aliens exist and have visited the Earth. But she's not sure if her sighting was extraterrestrial.

"Maybe it was a military thing; I don't know. Everything is mysterious in this world," she said. "It's a possibility."

Multiple Black Triangles Witnessed by Two People in B.C. Canada
    UFO-Depiction
British Columbia, Canada-2004-I don't know how to start. First off, I will say I am of sound mind! But what my fiance and I saw one night in the summer of 2004 was crazy! I wish more people were around to have seen it with us.

It was 3:00 AM, and we were wide awake from the heat and in love, so we thought we would talk a walk to the wharf. We live in Maple Ridge B.C. Canada. We stopped for some reason unknown and started to look up in a blank daze.

    We were almost hypnotized.

We saw at least 4 football field-size black triangles with a white light on each point, just floating in the sky, without a sound. And there were several little black triangles with white lights on their points going into the larger triangles!

We were in awe. Our sighting lasted for over an hour

But we couldn't move: we were both crying, unable to move. And then a very, very hot blow dryer-type effect wind came over us and burnt our arm hair off. Then they were gone. Gone! Where? How? We could move and talk again, we were astonished at what we saw.

The lady who reported this experience is currently seeking medical treatment from an endocronoligist. She is suffering from a damaged pituitary gland, and has what is called Polycystic ovary syndrome. She and her partner both now suffer from severe arthritis.

Polycystic ovary syndrome abbreviated PCOS or PCO (also known clinically as Stein-Leventhal syndrome, Sclerocystic ovary syndrome, Hyperthecosis, ovarian, Polycystic ovarian disease PCOD ) is an endocrine disorder that affects approximately 10% of all women .

    Arizona-Triangles Seen
1981-Yuma Desert-In August 1981, me and my friend Andrea (we're both from Italy) decided to cross in the night the Yuma Desert (AZ) on our way to California. During our ride we noticed this: A small central (red?) light, and TWO TRIANGLES at her side, both made of 3 different lights. And the 2 triangles started to move up and down, like dancing around the central light. I remember also a ray of light like exploring the field. We were scared to death, and we switched off the motorcycle lights to run away fast. It was incredible. Thanks again, Francesco Taddeucci, Roma, Italy. source: www.ufocasebook.com
    Colorado-Low Flying Orb
06-20-08-It started 4-5 weeks ago, my mother and I on the front stoop having a smoke shortly after dark. We saw a low and slow orb headed N by NE. The object made no sound as it came across our view. We had it in our view for 30-45 seconds, it turned upwards at a 45 degree angle, and shot off at a speed so fast if you were to blink it would have looked as though it disappeared.

This was late June. The next night around the same time(8:30-9 PM) while walking the family dog and that image of the orb still in my mind, I kept looking skyward and was on my way to check the mail. I saw a few bright stars, got the mail, and headed back to the house.

That's when I noticed one of the brighter stars was out of place, and was moving W to E. Now, every night, mother, brother, brother's girlfriend, and I sit out on the front stoop and watch the skies. Four weeks later, we watched what look like stars move across the sky at high altitudes move in ways I've never seen any aircraft do. No FAA lights(as seen through binoculars).

Denver is the mile high city with the largest airport in the nation. We are very accustom to seeing planes and their normal flight paths. I have seen satellites before, these objects appear and disappear, speed up, slow down, and change direction. We also think one of the objects might have tried to signal us, as we were trying to signal them with a green laser keychain lite and a flash light. This took place last night(7/13/08)as we got excited with a total count of 24 objects.

The event started at 9:15 PM, and lasted until about midnight. No photos were taken as the objects appear to look like stars to the naked eye. Although, through binoculars they appear to be glowing orbs that are zipping out in to space (I say zip as the only way to describe the way they move). I was wondering if this was a hot spot? Has anyone in this area seen something like this? source: www.mufon.com

    Ohio-Rapid Moving Light
July, 2008-I wanted to report a sighting in north Ridgeville, Ohio. I was at my sister-in-law's outside hanging around a pit fire with some family members. I was looking in the sky as I always do because I see things in the sky that I can't explain, so I just keep looking to see if I might catch something and on Saturday night I did. Also, 6 other people in my family saw it. It was a rapid moving light, and it was not moving in a particular way.

It was sort of darting here and there and it looked like it was leaving trails. It was like when you see a light move from one spot to another. I have been paranoid since then even though it was only 2 days ago. My grill is sitting outside and I cannot even go out there to put it into the garage because my boyfriend is asleep and won't accompany me outside. I hate this feeling. I saw a "ghost" when I was 19, and I've been scared since. I am 28 years old and now this? I am not in any way mental or in need of attention. I was told to report this sighting so here it is. Norway-Hovering Lights
1990s-Hello!I want to tell you about a very special incident that happened to me in the mid 90`s.I was at a place southeast in Norway. The day before I was leaving, I saw two very bright lights in the sky about 2-300 meters away from me. The lights was hovering about 50 m above the ground. I became very exited, and I was convinced it was alien crafts.

I observed the crafts for about two hours. The strangest thing was that I tried to communicate with the occupants telepathically. The message was: Come closer... Suddenly the UFOs came closer to me! I was a bit shocked. There were at least 15 people who witnessed this incident. he second strange, but common thing that occurred was that the electrical power was cut off in the whole local area. I think it was done by electro-magnetic powers fom the crafts. It happened in the evening. Yours sincerely, J. Larsen, Norway. source: www.ufocasebook.com

    Spain-Strange, Blue Light
07-07-08-Santiago de Compostela-My name is James, I´m from Santiago de Compostela, and what I´m going to tell you is a transcription of my grandmother´s words about a sighting that happened two days ago, the 7th of July. It was almost dark, and my grandparents usually close the windows of their house that face the street. It´s a really small village 25 kilometers away from Santiago, and it´s aerial space can see some planes per day at a very low height, but easily seen as planes because of the shape, movement and sound.

Well, my grandmother told me that, while closing the windows at 11:00 p.m., she saw a very strange blue light in the sky, near a big hill or small mountain (Northeast, nearer to the north than the east) and at the altitude of some telephonic towers (around 25-35 meters high the tallest). She told me that, with her bare eyes, the object looked small and not very bright, but that she felt so intrigued that went to look for a pair of binoculars to see that light with a more detailed perspective. Her surprise was that, with that deep blue illuminated rounded object, there was some kind of tail that exposed alternatively the "colors of the rainbow", as my grandma said, immediately under the sphere. I asked her if she or my grandfather could see or deduce the distance from the mountain of that object, but she only said that it was "high, in the firmament (so the first impression of this object being near the towers immediately fell down).

I also asked about any movement or changes in its intensity, but she said that it was "static" and that the only thing that changed continuously was the rainbow tail. She also said that there was no sound or anything rare, only that anomalous and never seen light. I´ve considered the possibility of that light being a satellite or some kind of burning atmospheric balloon, but I´d like to know if there have been, in other years, any sightings with these features, consider the tail as the strangest or important. source: www.ufocasebook.com

    Sweden-Multi-Colored Lights
07-16-08-Stockholm-02.21-Cloudy, with some wind. I was brushing my teeth before going to bed (although I was not very tired). Looked out my bedroom window and spotted the light. It was a cloudy night and I could clearly see the clouds moving around because in Sweden this time of year it's very bright at night. The light was a small but brilliant point of light (hard to describe) , possibly several light sources, and it flickered in white, red, green/blue and my first thought was that it was a helicopter. But then it jumped!

Two times in short distances and I nearly choked on my toothbrush. I stepped over to my desk to get my camera just to discover there was no memory card in it. I looked out the window again and it was still there. In a matter of seconds I had a memory card inserted and once again went back but just I was about to snap a picture it went behind a big fat cloud. About one minute later I got a glimpse of it again a bit further away. It was going in the opposite (south) direction of the clouds (north). I went outside but could not seem to find it again as I watched the skies for about 20 minutes. source: www.ufocasebook.com
