Thanks to the coming forward of Dr. Edgar Mitchell, former United States astronaut of NASA, maybe the United States government will finally let the whole government and the public know about the flying saucer they have kept secret. There is a huge disclosure project pertaining to releasing the truth about the Roswell, New Mexico flying saucer retrieval in parts and the one intact. There are many places to read the stories on the astronaut´s revelation and a video on you tube.
There have been over sixty years pass on earth since they Roswell incident. There have been many people on earth lead to believe cover ups and disinformation.
There have been many human beings on earth doing their part to share the truth and to expose the lies and deceit that have been offered as disinformation to the media in the past. The public and the media have been under a rue as a part of a long time cloud of secrecy about extra terrestrials and the spacecraft called flying saucers and UFOs in the media.
Due to all the government cover ups of nation states and the secrecy the whole world has been lead on a dark path of deception.
In the 1990´s, there was a new air about being in a democratic world because a wall went down separating East and West Germany. There was hope for the future. Many of the old gumshoes of government known as investigators, covert operators, and spies for governments were all hoping to have some relief from the pressure of covert operations of the cold war. The relief actually was not felt in 1993 as expected from the intelligent agencies. It took another fifteen years for the real truth to come out about aliens, UFOs, extra terrestrials, and what many covert operations kept in the aura of a "Need to Know" Basis in Clearance Levels. Government covert operations will still continue to have secrets just as certain public corporations will such as those who are inventing and patenting new discoveries. New inventions are always protected.
But, that does not mean that the whole global planet needs to function in secrecy about knowledge that all human beings of earth have a right to know since it does concern every living being on earth. Dr. Edgar Mitchell states that he "happens to be privileged enough" regarding being in certain circles or loops of people with knowledge of the extra terrestrials or those who were scientists who were working on the alien or other than this world discoveries. That is one way to put it. Identifying what has been physically found on this planet and releasing the information to the public via the media regarding the UFO phenomena being real was what most human beings believed was supposed to happen.
Who decided what could, would, and should be made public was up to certain governments and public figures apparently in the past. Hopefully this will change in the future. Media may receive a black eye for not actually presenting what was known to be the truth. Editors of publications may have some guilt regarding their decisions on what could and could not make the front page as news in the past.
The global public out cry for the truth to be known on the "UFO Phenomena" as Dr. Edgar Mitchell calls his news may just be tip of the iceberg. Dr. Mitchell may be the straw that broke the camel´s back. There are many topics that have not been released to the public and what we now need to decide is who will be in charge of releasing information to the total population of earth.
This is good news for all not just Larry King, Stanton Friedman, Ufologists, the UFO Hunters, History Channel, and movie moguls, this is a great time for celebration by all! This means that the media will finally have to admit that they have been mislead.
The media that was once respected by the public may have a chance for redemption. The media whether in print, visual, or any other technology should use this new global epiphany to make sure that being treated like mushrooms and kept in the dark never happens again. There are plenty of us freelance journalists that are willing to share our knowledge on the Internet. There is still honor and respect to be found in freedom of the press.
Now, maybe MUFON and other organizations that involved discovering the truth will appear more reputable and professional in the public domain. Websites like UFO Association and Roswell Connection will be appreciated for sharing information with the public. The Internet business, as well as, shows like the Larry King Show will become more about revealing the truth and this will make for less controversy in the media.
In the past, as in Rome, some things were seen as power trips with the ruling governments and the churches. Whether this is an empirical way of thinking, living, and being on earth in the past ruled only by the richest beings and most powerful may be a thing of the past. Only time will tell.

NASA Tests Confirm Water on Mars

(July 31) - NASA scientists said Thursday they had definitive proof that water exists on Mars after further tests on ice found on the planet in June by the Phoenix Mars Lander.

"We've seen evidence for this water ice before in observations by the Mars Odyssey orbiter and in disappearing chunks observed by Phoenix last month, but this is the first time Martian water has been touched and tasted," he said, referring to the craft's instruments.
NASA on Thursday also extended the mission of the Phoenix Mars Lander by five weeks, saying its work was moving beyond the search for water to exploring whether the red planet was ever capable of sustaining life.
"We are extending the mission through Sept. 30," Michael Meyer, chief scientist for NASA's Mars exploration program, told a televised news conference.
The extension will add about $2 million to the $420 million cost of landing Phoenix on May 25 for what was a scheduled three-month mission, Meyer said.
Phoenix is the latest NASA bid to discover whether water -- a crucial ingredient for life -- ever flowed on Mars and whether life, even in the form of mere microbes, exists or ever existed there.
Phoenix touched down in May on an ice sheet and samples of the ice were seen melting away in photographs taken by the lander's instruments in June.
Boynton said that water was positively identified after the lander's robotic arm delivered a soil sample on Wednesday to an instrument that identifies vapors produced by heating.
Mission scientists said the extension would give time for more analysis of Martian samples. They plan to dig two additional trenches -- dubbed "cupboard" and "neverland" -- using the robotic arm on the Phoenix craft.
"We hope to be able to answer the question of whether this was a habitable zone on Mars. It will be for future missions to find if anyone is home on this environment," Phoenix principal investigator Peter Smith told the news conference.
Mission scientists said in June that Martian soil was more alkaline than expected and had traces of magnesium, sodium, potassium and other elements. They described the findings as a "huge step forward."
Meyer said the scientific proof of the existence of water meant that Phoenix could "move from looking for water to seeing whether there were habitats for life.
"We are moving towards understanding whether there were or could be places on Mars that are habitable," Meyer said.

Could Aliens Become Spiritual Mentors?

LANCASTER, Texas, July 28 /Christian Newswire/ -- Is our society about to acknowledge the existence of aliens?
A second credible member of the public has spoken out on the topic. Just last week former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell, speaking on BBC Radio, said aliens exist and have been observing earth for "quite some time."
The 77-year-old Mitchell, one of only 12 human beings to have walked on the moon, also said that events like the reported 1947 alien spaceship crash at Roswell, New Mexico, occurred and were hushed up by the U.S. and other governments for various reasons.
In a May interview with Italian newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican's chief astronomer, the Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, said there is no conflict between believing in extraterrestrial intelligent life and believing in God.
"How can we exclude that life has developed elsewhere?" Rev Funes asked, even implying that some aliens might not have been subject to the separation from God described in Genesis. "There could be (other beings) who remained in full friendship with their creator."
Any extended discussion, apart from the existence question, about intelligent non-human life heretofore has been limited primarily to speculative fiction. Most works in these genres eschew any direct talk of spirituality, religion, or faith, alien or human.
There are some exceptions, however, and if our society is now more open to aliens, then a look at how we have portrayed alien faith and spirituality is worthwhile.
Enemy Mine, a 1985 science fiction film derived from an award-winning novella, depicts an intergalactic war between human beings and an alien race called the Drac. Marooned on an isolated, inhospitable planet, a Drac and a man start off as enemies. Out of survival necessity, however, they make a wary peace and eventually become dear friends.
The Drac shows a sense of his own spirituality and the divine, reading frequently from a small book of religious/philosophical text, and pondering the larger questions of life.
Ultimately, the alien's faith and friendship motivate the human being to consider something other than his prestige as a top-scoring fighter pilot. The alien reminds the human that life is so much more than just a scramble for conquest and material success. The human being is much better off for having encountered an alien of great faith and courage.
An example of fantasy that directly addresses alien spirituality is the Green Stone of Healing epic series. It features an intelligent non-human being, a Mist-Weaver, who exhibits capabilities that human beings more readily ascribe to the supernatural. The Mist-Weaver is able to appear and dissolve at will, transitioning from material to non-material realities in much the same manner as the divine heralds of earthly religious traditions.
As would an angel, the Mist-Weaver assumes physical form to converse easier with the human characters. The Mist-Weaver clearly has a profound sense of the divine and his connection to it and to all life, and tries to encourage that spiritual connection in his human counterparts.
The Mist-Weaver's presence spurs his human students to examine the limitations of their faith and their spiritual understanding, just as the burning bush, signaling God's presence, presented Moses with challenges of faith and self-growth.
His spiritual teachings often leave the human beings baffled, however, because they are so different from human understanding. The Mist-Weaver never tries to dictate human behavior or beliefs, solve human problems, or protect his students from the consequences of their actions.
In taking a hands-off approach, he might seem indifferent to some, but the Mist-Weaver simply refuses to intervene out of his abiding respect for free will. Perhaps that's what makes this alien truly strange. The Mist-Weaver doesn't suffer from that all-too-human inclination to run other people's lives or to proclaim God as a similar micro-manager.
A third example of speculative fiction portraying intelligent non-human beings with a highly developed spirituality is Alien Nation. Most of these on-screen "Newcomers" are just regular folks, although there are villains in their midst, too. But the average alien Joes and Jills have jobs, houses, children, and try to live peacefully among their human counterparts. They also have extensive religious rituals and traditions that are depicted throughout the TV series.
Like Enemy Mine and the Green Stone of Healing series, Alien Nation asserts that non-human beings can teach the human variety a thing or two about life and spirituality. The Newcomer police officer is paired with a human detective who is initially very unhappy about the arrangement. But the former earns the latter's respect and affection through his courage, smarts, initiative, and loyalty. The Newcomer demonstrates that these enduring and spiritual character qualities are not the sole province of human beings. Again, the human being is better off for having known the alien.
Tragically, on earth today the concepts of spirituality and faith seem far more alien to many than does the assertion of intelligent non-human beings.
Aliens may give God far more credit than we do. If/when the day comes that we openly encounter intelligent non-human beings, we may find that the experience brings us much closer to reclaiming and living our own spirituality than we ever believed possible.
We can always choose to embrace the unknown--the alien--instead of fearing it.

Flying Saucers from the US Patent Office

The technology for building saucer-shaped aircraft that have amazing flight characteristics is available directly from the US patent office (and most of these patents are now in the public domain).
They aren't exactly alien.
UFOs, or unidentified flying objects, have been observed for most of the existence of Western civilization. But these observed objects may not be as foreign as previously assumed. Patents from the US patent office and other nations throughout the world show that people have at least been attempting to build craft that match the descritption of these so-called "flying saucers."
Patent number 3,774,865, published in 1973, describes a saucer shaped craft that could be used as a passenger craft or even as a toy capable of moving at high velocities and of taking off and landing in a vertical manner.
The Avro Car was developed somewhat along these lines except that it utilized a ducted fan to achieve its lift. It could never get out of its own ground effect (whereby the air pushed down creates a cushion below the craft that it sits on) and the research project was discontinued.
While the above patent utilizes known technology the craft would still have the appearance and maneuverability of that ascribed to UFOs. However, there is more than just a single patent utilizing known technology. There are patents for things like plasma propulsion and magnetohydrodynamic propulsion. It operates by sending high frequency, high voltage electricity from the top of the craft to the sides or the bottom of the craft. This approach was utilized in Nazi saucers during WWII.
A craft that crashed in White Sands, NM in 1996 appears to utilze the other of the two mentioned technologies; that is plasma propulsion. Plasma propulsion creates an envelope of plasma around the vehicle allowing the vehicle to not only soak in all incoming signals (making it invisible to radar) and to move at unprecidented speeds. A patent published in 1955 boasted 60 times more power than present day rockets.
One thing must be considered and that is the two ways a patent can be validated. The first is with a working model and the second is it is logically provable using main-stream science. The technology powering the craft that are seen doing amazing things has been patented and is mostly within the public domain now. The craft exist and the technology does as well. It is only a matter of time before it is utilized and mankind moves into the space-age.

July 29, 2008-Some leading astronomers are quite confident that mankind will make contact with intelligent alien life within two decades. The search for extraterrestrial life will leap forward next year when NASA launches the Kepler space telescope. The instrument will be constantly scanning the same 100,000 stars over its four-year mission with the exciting objective of discovering Earth-sized planets in the habitable zones around suns.
This will allow SETI to hone in on where the odds of life are possibly greatest. Currently, SETI’s mission to find life on other planets is like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack. But now, whenever Kepler identifies planets most likely to sustain life, the team at SETI will be able to focus in on those solar systems using deep-space listening equipment. This will be a huge upgrade from their present work of randomly scanning the outer reaches of space for some kind of sign or signal. Also, upping the ante, is the recent discovery of Earth-like planets outside our solar system, which has led astrophysicists to conclude that Earth-like planets are likely relatively common in our galaxy.
"Everything has caused us to become more optimistic," said American astrophysicist Dr Frank Drake in a recent BBC documentary. "We really believe that in the next 20 years or so, we are going to learn a great deal more about life beyond Earth and very likely we will have detected that life and perhaps even intelligent life elsewhere in the galaxy."
However, some astrophysicists have warned that we humans may be blinded by our familiarity with carbon and Earthlike conditions. In other words, what we’re looking for may not even lie in our version of a “sweet spot”. After all, even here on Earth, one species “sweet spot” is another’s species worst nightmare. In any case, it is not beyond the realm of feasibility that our first encounter with extraterrestrial life will not be a solely carbon-based occasion.
Alternative biochemists speculate that there are several atoms and solvents that could potentially spawn life. Because carbon has worked for the conditions on Earth, we speculate that the same must be true throughout the universe. In reality, there are many elements that could potentially do the trick. Even counter-intuitive elements such as arsenic may be capable of supporting life under the right conditions. Even on Earth some marine algae incorporate arsenic into complex organic molecules such as arsenosugars and arsenobetaines. Several other small life forms use arsenic to generate energy and facilitate growth. Chlorine and sulfur are also possible elemental replacements for carbon. Sulfur is capably of forming long-chain molecules like carbon. Some terrestrial bacteria have already been discovered to survive on sulfur rather than oxygen, by reducing sulfur to hydrogen sulfide.
Nitrogen and phosphorus could also potentially form biochemical molecules. Phosphorus is similar to carbon in that it can form long chain molecules on its own, which would conceivably allow for formation of complex macromolecules. When combined with nitrogen, it can create quite a wide range of molecules, including rings.
So what about water? Isn’t at least water essential to life? Not necessarily. Ammonia, for example, has many of the same properties as water. An ammonia or ammonia-water mixture stays liquid at much colder temperatures than plain water. Such biochemistries may exist outside the conventional water-based "habitability zone". One example of such a location would be right here in our own solar system on Saturn's largest moon Titan.
Hydrogen fluoride methanol, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride, and formamide have all been suggested as suitable solvents that could theoretically support alternative biochemistry. All of these “water replacements” have pros and cons when considered in our terrestrial environment. What needs to be considered is that with a radically different environment, comes radically different reactions. Water and carbon might be the very last things capable of supporting life in some extreme planetary conditions.
At any rate, the odds of there being some type of life somewhere out there are good. As for intelligent life, well, that will depend on the definition of intelligence. There are a lot of other intelligent species here on Earth besides humans, that we don’t generally regard as such. In spite of many Star Trek episodes to the contrary, the odds of alien life forms having evolved to talk, look and act exactly like super hot humans are slim to none. If life is out there, it will have evolved according to it’s particular niche in the universe and will likely be quite foreign to us in the way it looks, communicates and thinks. We might not even be able to recognize hypothetical life forms as alive in the sense that we understand life. In fact, it would be more “miraculous” if we could effectively communicate with extraterrestrial life than to find that it exists. From that perspective, even if there are other life forms out there, we’d still be alone in the universe. Of course, that doesn’t mean we should look for the answers.

Like Scully and Mulder, James Stewart, interim dean of social science at Tougaloo College, believes the truth is out there and doesn't believe in hiding it.
Stewart has taught courses about government secrecy and conspiracy theories, using the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico, incident - an event that some believe involved an alien crash cover-up - as an example of why open government practices are better in a democracy.
"I use Roswell as a tool because it's something the students are interested in, and they will pay attention to it," he said. "I argue that the enemy of democracy is secrecy, because you can't make informed decisions if you don't have the information."
Stewart said the Roswell incident, which government officials later revealed was a downed weather balloon, is an important example of how secrecy works against government.
Stewart said a rash of UFO sightings were reported between 1977 and 1983 that involved triangular-shaped objects or crafts, but what many were seeing was the top secret F-117 Nighthawk stealth ground attack aircraft that was revealed in 1988, or perhaps the stealth blimp.
"Government secrecy can cause people to distrust government," said Stewart, adding that he finds it interesting that many alien abduction stories parallel night visitation stories about demons that were popular hundreds of years ago.
"They are kind of our new mythology," said the skeptic, who believes most unexplained sightings are optical affects, weather phenomenons or secret military projects.
"I don't deny the existence of extraterrestrials at all, but it seems if they have enough intelligence to fly across the universe, they would probably have enough intelligence not to be seen."
Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center in Washington State, says 90 percent of the reports he receives are false and can be attributed to planets, stars, satellites and aircraft, but the other 10 percent have made him a believer.
"My position is based on the evidence available to me, and it appears that our planet is being visited on a regular basis by these things we call UFOs," said Davenport, who believes outsiders are curious about us just like we are curious about other places.
"Why do we want to go into space?" he asked. "Why do people take vacations and travel to other parts of our planet? I suspect that they (extraterrestrials) detect the electromagnetic radiation of our planet, so if they come within a 150 light years of us, we stand out like a beacon in a night. They would realize that there is technology on this flyspeck of a rock and would want to come and take a look.
"Based on the diversity of craft that have been reported in UFOs and the creatures that are presumed operators of these crafts, we probably live in a galaxy that is teaming with life, but we don't have any proof of that statement."
Davenport encourages the public to look at the data before forming an opinion.
"We are all skeptical," he said. "We all don't know the full answer to this mystery yet. But is every one of these reports wrong?"

Incident:
Just after nine o'clock on the night of December 19, 1979, I was copilot of a
National Airways flight from Tauranga to Auckland. We were just climbing
through 12,000 feet heading towards our cruising altitude of FL130 headed
for Auckland. The weather was rotten with heavy rain and a strong
southwesterly with a little ice and light turbulence.
There were several large Cumulonimbus clouds buried in general cumulus overcast. We skirted a
couple of thunderstorms, and were just changing our altimeters from QNH to
1013 mb when I noticed a strong light out my copilot's window to Starboard.
I told the captain and Dave had a good look as well. We told the passengers
and everyone on board immediately shifted to the spare seats on the
starboard side and they all reported seeing the light. We then turned off
all aircraft lights including nav, landing and cabin lights just in case we
might have been seeing some form of reflection of our own lights.
The light
was still there paralleling us.
It was difficult to estimate the distance
away from us, because we had nothing to compare the light against in cloud
and at night, but it couldn't have been far away or the cloud would have
obscured it.
As a precaution, we then turned on ALL of our lights to ensure that we
weren't going to collide. We turned 30 degrees to port and called Auckland
Radar to ask whether they had any other aircraft operating near our flight
path. They said 'no,' but then confirmed that we had a 'bogy' very close to
us that was paralleling us and that the two radar echos were almost merging.
The bogy kept paralleling us, and we again turned all our lights off to get a
better look. The bogy had been paralleling us for over 3 minutes at this
time. By this time we were leveling off at our cruise altitude.
We then turned all our lights on again and gingerly began to turn back to
starboard towards the bogy. It again paralleled us and Auckland Radar again
confirmed that our radar echo and that of the bogy were very close, almost
at the limit of the radar to discriminate between us.
Suddenly the bogy
accelerated around in front of the aircraft, and held station directly ahead
of us.
Auckland said that our individual echoes merged. Then the bogy
climbed over us and we lost sight of it as it passed over the cockpit.
Auckland Radar tracked our radar echo on as well as the radar return of the
bogy, as our echoes rapidly separated with the bogy heading south at very
high speed, apparently climbing until Auckland Radar lost it well before it
would have left Auckland radar coverage laterally.
That's what happened. To this day I have no idea what we saw except that it
appeared to be a strong light. We discussed the possibility of ball
lightning but its movement didn't fit any reported sighting of ball
lightning, and ball lightning doesn't reflect radar or hang about for long
periods of time formatting on aircraft.

California-Multiple Blinking Lights
07-25/26/-2008-Santa Clara Valley-The reason I was up late is I usually stay up watching for meteors, listening to the radio and smoke a cigar or two before turning in. The sighting occurred around midnight Friday 25/Sat 26 July. An irregular circle of many blinking lights traveling slowly in a Southeast direction.
Visible for about 10 seconds before they faded. About halfway between the constellations of Sagittarius and Persus. They were blinking in perfect unison about 5 to 7 times/second. When the lights were at their least brightness, I could still discern the points of emanation - or it could have been the result of the brighter pattern imprinted on my cornea.
I would guess there were at least 15 of these source points. They were all blinking at the same magnitude. Tightly packed together.They appeared to be on or near the same plane or surface. I could see no larger surface around them such as a blimp message board, heard no noise, as if from the motors of a blimp and saw no other flashing wing, tail or nose lights. E. Nevada-Two Groups of Unknowns
2007-Las Vegas-I call the objects of my sighting UCFOs-Unidentified Controlled Flying Objects. I had reported this sighting to MUFON back in December of 2007. This was such an event that I can hardly stop thinking about it. On December 13, 2007, at 2:04 PM, Pacific time (U.S.A.).
I was on my way to an appointment. I approached my car, and as I was about to get in, the sound of an airplane caught my attention. As I looked up, the aircraft was headed west but already in a turn heading north. Right behind the plane was what I termed as four balloons. I thought they were following the plane, but as the plane made its turn, they just stayed there in the sky.
That's when I said that these were the oddest looking balloons I ever saw. To describe them, they were spherical, gray in color. Around the perimeter of the sphere there was a thin, black line completely around the object. This was surrounded with an incandescent light. As I watched them motionless right above me, five more objects came into view.
The only difference physically with the first four objects is that they illuminated with a sunset color, which made me speculate that all of the objects were reflecting sunlight. In other words, the second group were reflecting sunset from the East Coast of the U.S.A. They were way up. The second group appeared to float across the sky. Again, I thought these were the oddest balloons I ever saw.
Both groups were separated in the sky by perhaps a mile, although as I said, the second group appeared to be much higher in altitude. By this time the airplane was well on its way north. The plane was as big as a passenger liner. ts wings and body seemed larger and narrower. All of a sudden, the first group of four objects broke into two pair, changed altitude, lined up, and shot off at incredible speed.
Catching up, they appeared to take up positions a few hundred feet off the wings on both sides of the plane. The second group of five objects then formed a semicircle in the sky, reduced altitude, and lined up next to each other and again shot off at incredible speed forming a V-formation hundreds of feet behind the plane.
There were no wings, no tail sections, no noise, no vapor trails, no smoke, and no sonic booms. I know they were not balloons. After this sighting, I've done much research into strange phenomena. I again have speculated that these things were NOT FROM NOW. They are either from the future, or a different dimension. It might be easier than we know to travel interdimensionally, than to travel across space and time. Thanks for allowing me to share what was an incredible event which I will never forget. Texas-Unknown Lights Seen
2007 & 2008-Bowie Co, near DeKalb-I saw a white light last year that I could not identify. I am not sure of the month maybe around August 15, 2007, around 8:30 at night. I was on my cell phone talking to my dad on my front porch when I noticed a very white light coming at me from the WNW. It was not very high up in the sky, maybe 150 feet because when it passed over me and over the trees, I could no longer see it. I saw it for a total of three to four minutes, and then it was gone.
It made no sound at all. I watched it approach from the WNW and come right over my head. I told my dad and called my son out to see it. It had a round light that was white that seemed very bright, but it did not reach the ground or us. After it passed straight over the top of us and headed for the trees, I saw that there was something else above the light, or the light was attached to something else. I only saw that the color seemed to be a metallic-like cooper with different colors in it. It passed over us and scared my son. It went over the tops of the oak trees and I could no longer see it. The sky was clear. I did not notice anything else at the time just that light.
Last night (7-24-08) around 11:00 PM, I went out on my back porch to smoke, the sky was clear. I always look at the sky and stars or moon. I noticed a light twinkling as I watched it. I saw it was a plane just over the horizon and the tree line in back it was far off. It seemed to be moving slowly, because it was so far off. After the plane passed a point in the tree line, I saw a white burst behind it about even with the tree line.
I thought I might be seeing stuff, and I looked around for another plane, but saw none at that time. About 4 seconds after the first burst, I saw a second higher up above the tree line. Both bursts were quick and white with little white light points off of them. I looked for another 5 minutes higher up in the sky and saw nothing else.

United Kingdom-One or Two Objects Seen
2008-26/7/2008 Time: 10:50-11:15pm (roughly)-Duration: 20-30 minutes, 1 light, possibly second object or same object in second location-Size in distance appeared size of plane, close up aprox 2-3. I could only see the light/glow so hard to judge actual size.
Very bright, when first spotted brightest object in sky, and from my best assupmtions I would say it was at distance and altitude of usual planes in sky.
St Agnes Road, Moseley, West Midlands (looking east)-I was walking down the street with my girlfriend, and stopped to look at it.
I was standing in the street looking upwards, looked like it was at common commercial plane height 45-65 degrees?
Distance: (Refer to landmarks) originall seen at far distance, appeared to be similar distance to that of a commercial plane you would see at night in the very far distance. Second sighting appeared to be 30 - 100metres away. This is hard to say exactly, as it appeared to bee about two gardens away, and the height of 3-4 storeys in altitude. However I could only make out the light from it, no physical scale so it's very hard to say exactly... however from the direction it moved I would say that is pretty accurate.
Movement Of Object: at first distant sighting, it was moving at a set constant speed, similar to what a usual commercial jet would be moving. This is when I first noticed it. Around 2-3 minutes later it appeared stationary at the same height, however the light was much smaller (but still had the same very distinctive bright orange glow). Could possibly have been moving off into distance so appeared stationary?
We then continued walking down the road as it was then just a distant light. Aproximately 2-5 minutes later I came round the corner and between 2 houses, (a 100 metre gap roughly) the same light was hovering MUCH closer. It was very hard to judge the size distance as all I could see was the light, and what appeared to be either the halo effect from very bright lights or a circular glow. But this appeared to be aproximately 30-100 metres away and at about the altitude of 3 storeys.
The second time I saw it (assuming it was the same thing and not another one) it was completely stationary very close to us. It remainded stationary for around 30 seconds, then started to move off east, there didn't seem to be any sudden acceleration, a very slow almost drifting movement, that then appeared to speed up as it dissapperaed off into the distance. (for an idea of location, it was spotted at b13 9pl = google.co.uk/local and then moved directly east over the golf course and disappeared).
Aproximately a minute after the light had dissapeared from view, (and my girlfirend was going on about how it was robably a helicopter or something) I was saying haow it was completely silent, and I heard a plane in the opposite direction (at a VERY far distance - it was a very quite area), this then seemed to folow the smae path, but was at a much higher altitude (assuming it was a commercial airliner as it had the usual to white lights, two outer red lights blinking). For a comparison, the lights on this were roughly 10% the size of the solid constant orange light of whatever it was we saw.
Meteorological Conditions: clear sky , very minimal high level clouds. Almost windless, and had been a very hot sunny day.
