Glowing Creature-Strange Lights Reported In Pennsylvania
|
From Researcher Stan Gordon
On October 4, 2008, two hunters in Elk County, Pennsylvania, encountered something strange which they are still trying to find an explanation for. The two men entered the woods at about 4:45 a.m. It had been raining, and it was very dark. For lighting they had only a "hat light" and a mini mag light.
As the fellows walked further into the wooded area, they heard the sound of a coyote howl and the two men stopped. A short time later, they heard coyotes howling from various locations all around the woods. It appeared to be three different packs of the animals. The men had hunted quite often. The one witness told me that he had never heard so many coyotes howling like that before. At times, it was hard for the two men to communicate with each other.
Suddenly about 150-200 yards ahead on the other side of a field, they noticed two very dim glowing lights. The lights were about the size of a baseball and about two feet apart, and estimated to be about 15 feet above the ground. They glowed, "like the indiglo color of a watch." The two men thought the lights were odd, but considered that maybe there were some hunters ahead. The men shut off their lights. As they walked forward, in the distance toward where they saw the first glowing lights, they now observed what looked like a flashlight beam flashing back and forth between the tree line.
They did not think this was odd, since it was archery season, and there was the possibility that other hunters were in the area. Within minutes of seeing the single light beam, about 10 individual white beams of light suddenly appeared. These light beams which "flashed around," seemed to originate from one point, and were not moving around as if being carried by someone. The beams appeared to be about 10 feet above the ground, and projected parallel with the ground, and extended straight out from the originating location.
The other hunter asked out loud, "how many are there?" It seemed odd to the two hunters that these lights did not seem to be trying to find a path through the woods. The men were confused as to what they were seeing. Their attention was then drawn to a glowing figure, moving from the area of the beams of light. "It seemed as though one light beam led it to the field." The glowing human-like form moved about 20 feet out into a grass field. The grass in the area was about six inches tall. The other beams of light suddenly went out.
One witness described the being as similar to "a silhouette of a person just glowing, completely glowing." The man said the best way to describe what they saw was if someone took glow in the dark paint, and rubbed it on a person's body. The being was estimated to be about three feet tall, the head may have been a little larger than a human, and the upper part of the body seemed to lean forward.
The arms appeared to hang straight down, and were longer than that of a human. The legs were hard to see, as the glow was blocking out the shape. The color of the glow was described as a light green, lime color. The being seemed to be moving at twice the speed of the two men, who were walking fast. It actually gave the impression that it was gliding, and no sound was heard.
The one man recalled that he was becoming quite shook up during the incident, and he began to whistle out loud. Moments later, the being, which had been moving steadily, just"stopped on a dime." It remained motionless for about 30 seconds. It then moved about 20 feet into the field, "then suddenly just vanished." It disappeared in front of their eyes, and was not seen again. Within about two minutes after the being disappeared, all of the coyotes in the area suddenly stopped howling. The entire incident lasted a total of about five minutes.
As one witness told me, "I know what I saw. I just don't know what it was." The men went back to the location later that day and looked around for any traces where they had seen the lights and the mysterious being, but nothing was found. The men tried to rationalize what they had experienced, and would be interested to know if anyone has seen anything similar in that area.
This incident occurred amongst a series of other UFO reports, which have been ongoing across Pennsylvania in recent weeks and months. Actually, UFO activity has been active all year across the state. My PA UFO Hotline, as well as the National UFO Reporting Center, and the PA MUFON, have all been receiving sighting reports. While there have been numerous observations reported in the eastern part of the state, there has also been UFO activity in the southwestern areas as well. Among the recent UFO sightings which I have been investigating are the following.
About 2 a.m. on the morning of August 12, 2008, a witness who lives in a rural area between Greensburg and Youngwood, PA, in Westmoreland County, observed a bright light shining in a window. Upon looking outside, the witness observed what was described as two huge double headlights side by side. The lights, which had a yellow cast to them, were just across the road in front of another house, and very low above the ground. At first the observer thought that it must have been a helicopter, but there was no sound, and no rotor blades were apparent. After several minutes, the lights rose very slowly, and moved off into the sky over the trees.
There were a number of independent UFO reports from Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, reported during the early morning hours of September 5, 2008. About 12:30 a.m., near New Stanton, a witness observed some oddities in the sky. In the distance, what looked like a fire in the sky above a tree line was observed. (Another similar report came in later from another area.) The luminous display soon disappeared, and a strange object was soon observed in the western sky. This object was round and glowed white, with flashing blue and red lights at the bottom area. The object suddenly vanished, as though someone turned off a power switch.
A second object soon appeared toward the south. This object was moving and was larger in size than the first, and somewhat football shaped. This object moved rather fast, and appeared to drop close to the ground in the distance. With binoculars, the glowing white object, appeared to be perfectly round, with glowing red rectangular lights that did not flash, and were evenly spaced around the outside perimeter.
At almost the same time, another report was received from a man who was driving near South Park, outside of Pittsburgh. The driver suddenly observed two brilliant lights which were equally spaced, which he noticed as they came into view above his windshield. The lights came from the back of his car, and had moved towards the front. Within seconds, a second set of similar lights came into view. These lights were about three feet in diameter and did not blink.
The driver indicated that the layout of the lights would mimic the proportions generally of a standard piece of typing paper with a large light at each corner. The lights seemed to be attached to an object, which was estimated to be about 20 feet wide, and 50 feet long. The object was no more than 100 feet above the ground and was completely silent. The object made a sharp bank and accelerated into the sky above some trees.
At about 2:50 a.m. that same morning near Jeannette, a large orange ball of light was observed moving slowly across the clear sky. The light was estimated to be about a 1,000 feet up, moving east to west, and seemed to be almost floating. It suddenly vanished from sight as though someone shut off a switch.
I am looking into a number of other recent UFO reports. If you have any information on these cases, or if you have seen anything strange in Pennsylvania, please get in contact with me.

Repeated Sightings of Triangle in Virginia
|
I live in southwest Virginia, a very rural area with lots of pasture land surrounded by mountains. Not much happens here.
Last week, I went to the grocery store in town with my friend who has a convertible-the weather was fabulous, and we had the top down enjoying the breeze. At about 4:30 PM, on the way home, I noticed a large airplane hovering in the sky. I thought it was a bit unusual, so I kept my eye on it-and as we drove down the interstate we actually passed the plane as it hovered in one place!
I couldn't see the plane very well because of the sun, but after we passed it, I looked back, and saw it hovering there. I assumed it was a Chinook helicopter, as it was very large and hovering in one spot-but upon looking back at it, I realized it didn't have propellers. It was a wide triangle shaped plane, with flashing lights like an ordinary plane... but it did not behave as an ordinary plane would.
It was weird, but I didn't think too much about it.
Later that same night around 11 PM, I was in the laundry room, when I happened to glance out the window and saw the thing again! Hovering in relatively the same area, completely silent. It moved slightly. There was no breeze moving the trees, but the thing went behind the tree line several times. This time, I got my husband to look, and he had no idea what the thing could be. We watched it for a while, and then it flew away, much faster than a normal plane.
All in all, I have spotted this thing 6 times-always in the same general area, and always hovering silently just over the tree line. I have seen other planes crossing the sky normally while this thing stayed stationary.
It seems to be able to reach extremely high altitudes. It is completely silent. I live about a mile from the interstate, and the sound of the cars reaches me clearly because the sound bounces off the hills here. This thing made NO sound! It had regular flashing lights-one white one that remained constant, and two flashing ones-red and blue/whitish blue. It is coming back to the same location again and again... and seems to be just hanging out in the sky.
I would think it is a satellite, but-it isn't always there. I would think it was a helicopter, but it has no propellers. I would think it was a new kind of hovering aircraft, except it makes no sound at all. There are fighter jets that come over sometimes-more within the past few months than I've ever noticed, and they are very, very loud.
Again- the area I live is very hilly, so sound bounces off the hills here and echoes like crazy. The fighter jets make a HUGE noise! This thing was completely silent.
I don't think it is "alien" because I can't imagine aliens using lights on their ships in the same way we would. I think it must be some sort of new military plane... but why would it be hovering Here? There's literally nothing here but farmland!

Photograph of Unknown Object over Cypress Mountain, Vancouver, BC, Canada
|
I am sending you acopy of one picture with a UFO in fast movement (in the left side above). I and group of friends of mine (Mladen Komnenic (took a picture), Sanja Garic-Komnenic, Safet and Jadranka Alispahic, my wife Nerma and I) went to Cypress Mountain over West Vancouver last Sunday, September 28, 2008. It was beautiful sunny day, without clouds in the sky.
During our hiking Mladen took many pictures. When he came home, he started to watch pictures on his computer, and he realized that he spotted a UFO. He sent it to me and I decided to send it to you, because I am sure that is the object made somewhere outside of our planet.
To me, that was un object covered by moonlike light in a fast movement. It was flying across Earth's atmosphere and making some kind of tail after it. I have seen UFO's several times covered by similar kind of light, but not in so fast a flight as this one (in the history of your web site there are some of my reports).
Could you please let me know what is your opinion about this picture.
Best Regards,
Rifet Bahtijaragic

The Truth is Out There, says Philip Mantle
|
UFOs have been here since 1947 8th October 2008 By Gemma Wheatley
A BRITISH expert says a UFO crashed in the States in 1947 and there is “no doubt aliens were here”.
Philip Mantle – editor of UFO Data Magazine – is unveiling his findings at an international conference this month.
But he has given the Daily Star exclusive details.
He investigated the site in New Mexico and has been analysing rock, earth and vegetation.
The area is surrounded by charred trees and bushes and a mysterious blue bubbly substance dribbles down rocks.
A top US scientist says high levels of radiation point to a ship landing there in the 1940s.
In his extensive report, physician Dr Ronald Rau said: “Would I tag it a UFO? Probably.”
The area in the Nogal Canyon is close to to the well-known Socorro desert site where experts say another object appeared to have landed in 1964.
Philip explained: “A good friend of mine Ed Gerhman first found the site and I flew over as soon as I could.
“It was a real find and as soon as I arrived there I knew what a special and peculiar place it was. There is nothing around it for around 70 miles, it is literally in the middle of nowhere.
“Us Brits really have beaten the Americans at their own game and it is really great that we have done that. It really is revolutionary for the UFO world.”
Philip has been swamped with TV offers and will reveal the full findings at a conference in Leeds.
Former MOD official Nick Pope said: “This looks to be a potentially very interesting and significant development.”
The UFO Data Annual Conference will be held on October 25 and 26. To book tickets visit ufo data.co.uk or call 07957 223358.

Photographer Inadvertently Captures Unknown Object During Shooting
|
New Mexico-09-27-08-I was near the end of shooting about 300 photos of local autumn scenery, and stopped at a friend's house to shoot the panoramic view of the Moreno Valley. I knew it could be seen from his main deck.
While returning to my car, I noticed a flower pot on another small deck which juts out from the living room of his house about 12-15 feet above the driveway. The flowers hanging over the pot looked pretty against the bright blue cloudless sky, so I shot four pictures in a row of them, from about 20 feet away, using a telephoto lens. (The first shot was a "single;" the next three were a "burst.") The shots were aimed up toward the sky, slightly north, but mostly to the west. If there was any wind, I didn't notice it.
I noticed the object in photo one (of the four I shot of that scene) when quickly scanning through the photos as I transferred them from my camera to my computer. Since I hadn't noticed anything in the sky when I shot the photo, I thought maybe the "object" resulted from a "glitch" in the camera. I made a copy of the photo at full size and enlarged it in Photoshop, then enlarged the section with the object in it again and "enhanced" it using the Photoshop Unsharp Mask filter at the following settings: Amount-500; Radius-25; Threshold-15. In the enlarged enhanced view, the object appeared to be solid, and not the result of a camera malfunction. I checked and rechecked the other three photos of the same scene and found no trace of the object in any of them.
I mentally retraced my activities to determine the time when I shot the photo and then did test shots with the same camera to determine the amount of time which elapsed between the first and last photos in the scene (five seconds).
I emailed copies of both the original photo and the enhanced enlargement of the object in the photo to folks I know in the UFO community asking for opinions. One person emailed back recommending I report to MUFON to learn if someone else saw the same object.
Camera: Fuji S100, 12 megapixels. Setting for all four photos: automatic. I have saved all four original photos.

Airborne Ring Photographed over Salt Lake City, Utah, 2001
|
The report included here was originally posted on the Coast to Coast AM web site with photographs.
On 03-01-01, A Salt Lake City truck driver was making a delivery in downtown Salt Lake City, when he became aware of a bright flash. As the driver looked for the source of this flash, he saw a ring-shaped object in the sky. Fortunately, he had a digital camera in his truck. He took several photos of the object, one immediately after the other.
The photographs (seen below) clearly show the object as a dark, ring-shaped object. Ultimately, the ring would disappear into the cloud cover. The truck driver was interviewed by Art Bell about his sighting and photographs. There were two additional witnesses to the events, one a truck driver who was driving behind the first truck. He did not wish to be interviewed, and subsequently what he saw exactly is not known.
The third witness was working on Beck St, and saw the ring-shaped object. He was later contacted, but never responded.
More information: The primary witness and photographer of the object also related to an investigator that he took the photographs with an Aiptek pen camera. He stated that the ring did NOT appear to be smoke, and was clearly seen. This is evident from the photographs.
When looking at the photographs in sequence, the object seems to move from left to right. With the truck moving from right to left looking at the object, at least part of the object's movement could be attributed to the movement of the truck, as the driver took the photographs.
Another interesting aspect of the photographs is seen in photos 6 and 7. There is a type of hook seen only in these two picture. What this is, is anyone's guess. The ring-shaped object is also strange in that it appears to change shape slightly from photo to photo.

Alabama-Three-Lighted Object
|
08-11-08-Last night I was watching the pre peak of perseids meteor shower in my back yard. I was facing east-north east. I have light pollution in the sky to the southeast and trees to the west that determine where I watch. At 2:15 AM, I was getting up to refresh my coffee, standing and turning south my attention was caught by a bright light through the trees at about 30 degrees off the horizon.
I knew immediately what it was-my wife and I had seen something similar in early June in the southeast, only at a much greater distance. This time I could plainly see a three-lighted object that looked like a standing triangle. The lights were blinking, trading places, and were amber/white and red.
It was swinging like a pendulum and played hide and seek behind the trees. I ran in to get a witness. My 13 year old was my choice for his good eyes. After sufficiently freaking him out, he went back to bed and I jumped in the car to go get a better look. It seems as if it knew I was watching. As I was driving down CR 124, it was moving away from me at a great speed. When I stopped at the top of a large hill it was off to the west and much farther away. Continuing to watch, all I could think was "What are they doing, surveying, taking inventory?"
One minute it would swing north and south, the next it would shoot straight up, only to settle down to where it was. By 3:00 AM, it was very far away to the west or much dimmer. My jaw is still on the floor. source: www.nuforc.org

Indiana-Triangle-Shaped Object
|
10-02-08-My daughter and I were coming home from a quick trip for milk. Suddenly, I saw something strange to my left in the sky.
I turned, and asked my daughter, "What is that up there to your left?"
She looked out her side of the car, and at first, she didn't know, but said it must be a plane of some kind. No sooner had they replied, than the object slowly drifted right in front of our car, about 100 foot in the air. It was definitely a triangle shape with rounded corners. It has a white light in the front, and a blue and red light at the back corners. We couldn't hear any noise from it, nor did it affect our car.
I tried to follow it, as it was moving over the very road we going to turn on, Shiloh and Corydon. I had to speed up, and as I got closer, it veered off the road to the right, as if to circle back. As it did, it tilted on its side, and oddly, stayed in that position as it flew straight ahead. We had heard a lot about the sightings in Indiana, but this was the first time that we had seen one. It was as big as a commercial airplane. source: www.mufon.com

Pennsylvania-Object Disappears
|
10-05-08-We saw star-like object tonight that totally dissipated in mid air. When I first saw it from my porch, I jumped down and went out in the yard to get a better look. I thought maybe it was a plane, but as it got closer I could see it wasn't. It was like a star, but was hovering in a weird manner. I called another family member to come out, and she saw it also, and said it was not an airplane. We have had a lot of sightings in our state, and a lot of people are watching the skies over Pennsylvania. They have even been on television. source: www.mufon.com

Virginia-Sphere-Like Object
|
10-06-08-We reside close to the Blue Ridge Mountains. This night we were having a movie night with some friends and I went out on the deck to smoke a cigarette. As I was looking up to the sky towards the west, I noticed a sphere-like object hovering above in the distance. It was moving slowly towards the west and and composed of various colors.
I proceeded to gather my friends and family to witness the event. They were baffled by the sight of this also. We were amazed by the sighting, however, we had seen another object about a year ago. That one was of a large triangular shape so we were not totally shocked, but our friends were shocked because they were non-believers until this incident enlightened them. We lost sight of the object as it continued to slowly head towards the west. source: www.mufon.com

Canada-Unknown Light
|
10-06-08-I live in Oshawa, Ontario and I am somewhat a believer in the UFO phenomenon, I was walking my dog in the evening of October 6th 2008 at around 7 pm. It was fairly dark, but not totally, and a very clear sky.
I happened to look up and I saw a very bright, white light heading southeast. It moved at a steady pace no deviation of direction, no noise what so ever, It wasn’t tens of thousands of feet in the air but maybe 2-3000 feet. This most definitely was not a plane, the light was too large and there were no other flashing lights normally associated with aircraft or helicopters. Toronto is to the west of me and I see flights originating from Pearson Intl Airport heading due east all the time so I would have recognized it had it been one, we also have a local airport but normally for light aircraft usage, and as I had said, no noise. This light had about the same speed and look as the object in the video of Tamaulipsas, Mexico. The light was about the size of a dime at arms length. source: www.ufocasebook.com
