Strange Encounter at Edwards Air Force Base
|
I live in California, Lancaster, to be exact I am a 15 minute drive from Edwards Air Force Base and not far from Las Vegas (about 3 hours drive). For the many years I've lived here I can recall strange things in the sky. Very Strange. There was a time back when I was only 16 that me and some friends took the "day off" from school and headed out west of Lancaster towards the Federal Pen. If you pass it some 10 to 15 miles you will find yourself leaning to make a right. We decided to hang out and a have a little bon fire that night. All day long we kept seeing weird objects flying around in the middle of nowhere. There were 15 of us that day, as the it started to get dark outside the things in the sky began to move more rampant and faster with no sound. We later saw some really bright lights that came right to the deserted area of the back and it just stayed. We weren't drinking and we didn't do drugs: we were geeks ditching school. After a while we could see a Sheriff car sitting outside on the outskirts watching us watch the sky.
We tried to listen to music but, instead we got strange static that almost blew our eardrums but, seemed as though we could understand it somehow. Some of us thought it said "can you see us?" as it got closer talking through the stereo which was I might add on CD not Radio, supposed to be playing "Stone Temple Pilots" (a CD I still have with a strange burn on it to this day sits in my CD case.)
What went on later that night I can't be too sure: we are all still very hazy on the subject and most of us don't talk anymore. In any case the officer sitting in the car came over to us and walked closer while keeping his eyes up above in the sky at now 7 objects all of the same size and same shape (a pyramid like shape with a hole in the bottom and a bright light shooting from the same direction as though it were surveiling the area where we were standing) at this point I ran away and hid in my boyfriends truck. For a moment or two I could've sworn everyone disappeared but, I'm not sure. It just looked like I was the only one there and my nose began to bleed really bad and I started choking because I wasn't paying attention and panicked. I was by myself. I don't know why but, I got out of the truck and started looking for my boyfriend who I found after I walked all around in several circles for at least 30 minutes maybe longer. He was lying down (face down) in the dirt and wasn't moving. When I touched him I got a weird shock and he sat up after a while and said "don't touch me", which was odd. in the tone he used. After a while walking back everyone seemed to resurface as though nothing had taken place and 2 of my other friends came out of other parked cars shaking and not knowing what had happened, but said they saw everyone gone just like me. The lights were still there though they had moved back up, but they were still only about 4oo feet above us. The police officer was the last one to be found, everyone kept saying "where's the cop?" He was completely undressed and had scratches all over his back. He got up and we moved away trying to help find his clothes (which we found about 50 feet from him nicely laid out on the dirt as though placed gently) it was very eerie.
Once the lights moved further away we saw 2 jets fly over us (very loud) and looked as though they were chasing the objects but, they had no luck at all. I distinctly got the feeling whatever it was intended something unwanted. What we did after that was even stranger because we just sat there and said nothing to one another for what seemed hours.
When we finally decided to go home after we made sure the officer whose first name was Chris was OK we came upon another obstacle. We were stopped about 10 minutes into our way back by the Military who had blocked the entire highway leading to the direction we were just in. When they asked us where we were we told them "in the desert by an old beat up house in the back yard".They made us wait and then had us moved by making us follow their jeeps (one in front of us one behind us). We though we were in deep shift for ditching school it was almost as though we had forgotten everything we saw. Unfortunately for me my grandpa was at that time a General in the Air Force. One of the MPs knew who I was and contacted him.
He came out to the area they now had us in some 20 miles northeast of where we were but it was still desert. No lights no cars other than theirs and ours. Grandpa did come out and wouldn't even approach me so I though he was pissed. They brought some sort of weird team with them that had scanner like devices and told us nothing other than to "stand still and don't even think of moving". We felt terrorized and insulted when they asked us to remove certain clothing (not nude or anything but, still). They patted us down and even did this to the cop who was still disoriented. At this point I could still see those lights in the sky out of the corner of my eye.
We were allowed to leave after another 3 hours and it was then 2:30 am. Myself and my 2 other "car hiding friends" who had emerged earlier were asked to go with the MP's to "make sure we weren't injured by THEIR testing". (I thought this was funny because it wasn't THEIRS whatever it was) I didn't have a choice and went with them. They put us somewhere out on North Edwards in a large weird shaped building where finally we saw some normal people....nurses. They separated us so I don't know what ever happened to my other girl friends and they never spoke of it again. Myself...I was taken into a doctors waiting room where I was forced to put on a little robe and wait to be put into the ex-ray room. It was at that point my grandpa came in and got me. "Get dressed and lets go now!"
He took me to another hospital called Antelope Valley Hospital which is located off of 1st street west in Lancaster. It was there that I was looked at by another Doctor named "Peck", he told me I had pieces of metal that "need to come out" he said he didn't "Know what they are" but, "wanted to get them out". He took a small knife and a syringe where he numbed me in 24 different places and began to basically "dig" into my skin. I watched but, didn't feel a thing as he poked and removed 7 small triangular pieces of what I think were metal. At one point I picked up one these and bit into it but, it chipped my tooth. This is how I figured it was metal. there were 4 removed from my upper left thigh, one from the back of my neck on the right, another on my right thigh, one in the right butt cheek (sorry). The others he couldn't get to without hitting major veins so he left them and took the others to the nurse who took them to the lab tech.
This is where it gets weird. There were no tests done, I was sent home with my grandpa and 2 days later I received a phone call from the Lab Tech asking if the Doctor had "contacted me?"... NOPE. In fact I told him I tried to go back the day before and see him this same doctor and he stood there in front of me and my boyfriend and stated "he never treated me nor saw me ever in his life" and straight out LIED. He told me to "leave him alone and go away"....so I did. Since then I tried to get a copy of my medical records from that night but, they stated that I had never been to the hospital. Funny though this happened in 1992 because in 1994 I had a son and to this day they still say even after I went and had kid in the hospital that "we have no medical records of you ever having been here". My Grandpa has since retired he sits around and listens to radio waves all night long and hasn't spoken a word of the incident to me since then. He just smiles at me real big and takes pictures of me.
My friends from that night all disappeared moving out of the area and my boyfriend at the time passed away in 1994. He was my son's father. I graduated just before I had my son but, every time I visit the hospital even now years later they will tell me "we have no records of you ever having been here". So My question to you is this WHAT IS SO FACINATING ABOUT ME THAT MY MEDICAL RECORDS WOULD DISAPPEAR????
NO ONE WILL TELL ME ANYTHING. THE POLICE OFFICER RETIRED 3 MONTHS AFTER THE LIGHT THING CAME IN THE SKY.
I once saw him at Wal-Mart he recognized me and kept on walking after stopping only briefly to smile at me. That was 2 years ago I am now 31. My immunities also changed so allow me to indulge:
1.) I am immune to Hepatitis A, B, and C... the first two OK but hepatitis C? I can't give to anyone and I can't catch it either for all 3, so I'm not a host.
2.) I am immune to the FLU... yeah I know. I also can't give it away like a host.
3.) I am immune to certain cancers in the plural!
4.) My immune system is one of the "best ever seen" as far as doctors are concerned. Considering I never get sick.
5.) I have a high quality of vitamins that seem to never disappear and my body produces a high volume of vitamin K.
6.) My mitochondria DNA is "weird" (this is what I was told, by 3 doctors), I have NO TESTOSTERONE in my body. When I get old I won't go through menopause like other women instead they told me that I have more Estrogen and therefore I won't ever need any estrogen pills to reduce testosterone levels from taking over so to say. So I guess I'm "all girl". There is only a few women in the world who are like this.
My children also have all my immunities. I have 1 son and one daughter. They never get sick either. My son is a little genius he has a high IQ like I do and he goes to a virtual school for smart kids like I did. My daughter knows things she should not like I do since that night.
Thank you for your time

Reader Reveals 1965 Encounter in California
|
This happened in 1965-March 15th in North Hollywood, California, at 13064 Saticoy Street about 9:00 PM. The weather was cool and clear. I was 14 years old.
I had been at a friend's house all day. I was walking home (about a mile). I was about a half a block away from my house right in front of the trailer park. I looked up for some reason and there was something coming towards me. When I first saw it, it was probably 300 yards away from me heading east.
There were 3 rectangular lights on the front bottom. They were big, 4ft by 3ft with a space of about a foot between them. They were flashing left to right, one at a time-Yellow, Bright red and Blue.
I stopped walking as it got closer and closer. At first I wasn't scared, just curious. When it was about 50 feet above me I realized there was no noise coming from it. At first I thought it was a helicopter but when it got close enough there was no noise or wind like there is with a copter. I was trying to figure out what it was. At that age I don't even think I had heard of UFOs before. It was hovering in front of me about 30 feet off the ground.
Then suddenly, the colored lights went off and a spot light came on. By this time I was starting to freak. I ran into the trailer park and hid in the bathroom for about 30 minutes. I decided to go see if it was still there. It was gone. I ran to my house and that was the end of that.
At that time there were no Police helicopters, and if there were, they would have sent a patrol car to see what was going on.
I never told anyone until about 20 years later when I heard of a UFO sighting in the Midwest that matched what I saw back in 1965. That's what I was waiting for: so people wouldn't think I was wacko or something. I did start talking about it then, but I still think no one believes me. They say they do.
I think I came close to being abducted but who knows. I wish I could see it again. Well... that's it. Has anyone seen the same one as I did?
I would love to talk to someone who has.
Thanks,
David W.

Plan 9 from Outer Space: The CIA and UFOs
|
November 3, 2007-In January 1979, The New York Times reported that despite repeated, feverish denials, the CIA had indeed investigated the UFO phenomenon: "CIA Papers Detail UFO Surveillance" screamed the headline. The report is said to have so upset the then CIA director, Stansfield Turner, that he reportedly asked his staff: "Are we in UFOs?"
The answer was yes - since the late 1940s, apparently. But exactly how, what, when, why and who remained layered in mystery, leaving grist for the conspiracy mill.
But this year a raft of newly unclassified CIA documents revealed that the remote possibility of alien invasion elicited greater fear than the threat of a Soviet nuclear attack.
More interesting still, the CIA documents show that despite decades of repeated public denials, behind the scenes there raged a series of inter-agency feuds that involved the highest levels of the US government.
The subject of UFOs - and dabbling in psychological warfare techniques - not only focused the attention of the US government elite for 50 years, but of some of the greatest scientific and military minds of the era.
Throughout the 1950s CIA files clearly document an explosion of activity by US intelligence and military bodies concerned with studying every possible implication for the US, and other Western democracies, of UFOs. The phenomenon, so adored by the cinematic world, was reflected in the CIA's fixations. Indeed, while highly educated CIA employees experimented by giving each other surprise LSD trips in 1953, there were others, in other parts of the agency, dealing with a flood of UFO reports.
But significantly, after a burst of intense scrutiny in the early '50s, the available documents effectively go cold. Why? The Kafkaesque explanation provided is that few files were kept because these would only confirm that the CIA was investigating UFOs. A 1995 CIA review stated: "There was no formal or official UFO project within the agency in the '80s, and agency officials purposely kept files on UFOs to a minimum to avoid creating records that might mislead the public if released."
But the wildly eclectic UFO files cover everything from "flying saucers over Belgian Congo uranium mines" to Nazi "flying saucers".
A 1953 memo shows that the physicist John Wheeler, while critically involved with Edward Teller in the creation of the hydrogen bomb, was available to the "CIA attack on the flying saucer" problem. The urgency of the H-bomb race was his priority, but he "would be pleased at any time to discuss the issue briefly", the memo said.
Wheeler recommended two "foreign nationals" who could help with the "problem", including the "mysterious problems of ion paths and magnetic focusing" and "cosmological electrodynamics".
A secret 1995 report was titled: CIA's role in the study of UFOs 1947-90: a diehard issue. Collated and written by Gerald Haines, the CIA's National Reconnaissance Office historian, its detailed summary of CIA involvement inadvertently undermined its "UFOs-don't-exist" conclusion. The document begins with a June 24, 1947, report from the pilot Kenneth Arnold, who spotted nine unidentified objects near Mount Rainier, Washington state, travelling at an estimated 1600 kmh. Haines did not mention that days later, on July 8, 1947, the Roswell Daily Record reported a US Army press release below the headline "RAAF captures flying saucer on ranch in Roswell region".
The report noted that that controversy, coloured with Byzantine denials, dogged the CIA and its UFO investigations for decades. Using operational names like Project Blue Book, Story, Grudge, Sign, Saucer, Moon Dust and Twinkle, the US Air Force and other entities always looked into UFO sightings with the CIA peering over their shoulders.
The US Army, of course, promptly retracted the Roswell story but it and the "flying saucers" spotted by Arnold triggered a flurry of sightings and conspiracy theories that continue to this day.
The US Air Force finally admitted in 1994 that there had been a cover-up at Roswell - of a secret project known as Mogul, created to monitor Soviet nuclear tests using high-flying balloons - and that the "aliens" were crash-test dummies.
"Ufologists", naturally, were sceptical of this belated explanation. For 50 years now, right across the globe, people have been reporting sightings of giant, luminous flying saucers, cigars, globes, triangles and doughnuts. Aliens have allegedly abducted, probed and impregnated scores of hapless earthlings. Some believe that a top-secret entity, called Majestic-12, was formed in 1947 by the then president, Harry Truman, in an attempt to deal with the Roswell event. It was supposedly established to aid interaction with aliens. The FBI labelled the Majestic-12 documents a hoax, but the story persists to this day.
Intriguingly, the unclassified documents show that within the CIA, there was an uber-intelligence group called ONE, created by a CIA director, General William Bedell Smith. His tenure spanned the period between October 1950 and January 1953. These documents confirm that ONE was concerned with UFOs.
In 1978 the CIA came under strong pressure from a series of freedom of information requests about UFOs and reluctantly released about 800 documents. The reasonable claim by The New York Times at the time was that the files confirmed intensive government concern about UFOs.
This was branded by the CIA as the press being sensationalist. According to the CIA's self-critique on the issue, bureaucratic clumsiness, charges that witnesses were being asked to keep sightings secret, and CIA officers talking to civilians about UFOs while wearing air force uniforms, had added "fuel to the growing mystery surrounding UFOs and the CIA's role in their investigation". The 1995 Haines report concluded: "The belief that we are not alone in the universe is too emotionally appealing and the distrust of our government is too pervasive to make the issue amenable to traditional scientific studies of rational explanation and evidence."
My painstaking review of hundreds of unclassified documents reveals that the CIA at the highest level, far from being incompetent, displayed good faith in its efforts to examine the mystery of UFOs over a period of decades. These investigations covered a gamut of inquiries: scientific, political, cultural and military.
And although the air force was the agency given the task of investigating UFOs from 1948 onwards, the CIA remained deeply involved. This is best reflected in a memo to the agency's deputy director for scientific intelligence, titled Flying Saucers and dated August 3, 1952: "It is recommended that CIA surveillance of subject matter (flying saucers), in co-ordination with proper authorities of primary operational concern at the Air Technical Intelligence Centre (ATIC), be continued. It is strongly urged, however, that that no indication of CIA interest or concern reach the press or public, in view of their probable alarmist tendencies to accept such interest as 'confirmatory' of the soundness of 'unpublished facts' in the hands of the US government."
Although most reports were "phoney" or explainable, it said, "caution requires that intelligence continue coverage of the subject".
On July 28, 1952, Winston Churchill wrote to his secretary of state for air: "What does all this stuff about flying saucers amount to? What can it mean? What is the truth?" The minister's response on August 9, 1952, provided the ground rules for most official responses that continue until today. These were that a 1951 study had found that all reports could be explained by astronomical or meteorological phenomena, mistaken identification of aircraft, balloons, birds, optical illusions and psychological delusions, or were deliberate hoaxes.
But in the CIA at the time, two other responses were countenanced: the need for vigilance and caution because extraterrestrial life could exist, and the potential for "psychological warfare", including fears that popular hysteria could be exploited by an enemy.
The sceptics are best represented in a memo in March 1949 from a Dr Stone in the CIA Office of Scientific Intelligence to a Dr Machle that states: "A rapid perusal of your [flying saucer] documents leaves one confused and inclined to supineness."
Yet with a deluge of UFO reports over the next four years, the matter suddenly assumed a modicum of gravitas, reflected in many top-secret documents. General Smith said: "There was one chance in 10,000 that the phenomenon posed a threat to the security of the country, but even that chance could not be taken." On July 1, 1952, there was an about-turn: General Smith wrote to the director of the Psychological Strategy Board established by Truman the previous year: "I am today transmitting to the National Security Council a proposal in which it is concluded that the problems associated with unidentified flying objects appear to have implications for psychological warfare as well as for intelligence and operations. I suggest that we discuss at an early board meeting the possible offensive and defensive utilisation of these phenomena for psychological warfare purposes."
Searching for this "proposal", I found versions addressed also to the secretary of defence. Some of their highlights, quoting directly from the documents, include: "[Since] 1947 there have been about 1500 official reports of sightings and [of these] the air force carries 20 per cent as unexplained." And: "Operational problems are of primary importance and should be attacked at once [including] determination of what [use could] be made of these phenomena by US psychological warfare planners and what
defences should be planned in anticipation of Soviet attempts to utilise them."
This memo suggested a plot that transcends Stanley Kubrick's Dr Strangelove: the CIA, in the face of unknown phenomena - or even an attack from outer space - was seemingly more concerned about what the Russians might do with UFOs than with the objects themselves. The CIA's interest in the Soviet and Chinese study of UFOs continued for decades. But on October 2, 1952, General Smith received this ominous note from his Office of Scientific Intelligence: "Flying saucers pose two elements of danger which have national security implications. The first involves mass psychological considerations and the second concerns the vulnerability of the US to air attack." In January 1953 the Office of Scientific Intelligence convened a committee to review the UFO "problem". Its members reviewed "75 case histories of sightings", taking intense interest in a Tremonton, Utah, sighting that included a Kodachrome movie of "1600 frames".
At the air force's request, the US Photo Interpretation Laboratory spent 1000 hours making "graph plots" of the film frames, concluding that the objects were not birds, balloons, aircraft or reflections and that they were "self-luminous". In a tone of reasonable scepticism, it suggested that the public be educated to avoid hysteria.
But the Office of Scientific Intelligence panel dismissed the military conclusions, suggesting instead that the mysterious objects were seagulls reflecting sunlight.
On January 21, 1953, another memo concluded that the panel had found no evidence of "physical threat to the security of the US". The convoluted memo stated: "The subject UFO is not of direct intelligence interest. It is of indirect intelligence interest only insofar as any knowledge about innumerable unsolved mysteries of the universe are of intelligence interest." But it also noted the potential for "interference with air defence by intentional enemy jazzing", the possibility of interference by "overloading communication lines", or the possibility of "psychological offensive by the enemy timed with respect to an actual attack".
This report and the original Tremonton "seagull" film were then made part of an Office of Scientific Investigation briefing on January 29, 1953, to the entity known as ONE. The air force briefed ONE on UFOs the next day and its 11 members included "Dr Edgar Hoover [sic], William Bundy, General H. Pull and Admiral B. Bieri [Eisenhower's chief of staff]".
These documents reveal that ONE was an elite think tank within the CIA and that General Smith created the Office of National Estimates on the issue.
But it was said its "ultimate approval should rest on the collective judgment of the highest officials in various intelligence agencies". This was to give it the prestige of the best available and most authoritative advice from the government.
General Smith created the Office of National Estimates under the auspices of the National Security Act of 1947. His opinion was that ONE would form the "heart of the CIA and of the national intelligence machinery".
William Langer, a Harvard historian, was its chairman, and while there is no record of whether ONE thought the Tremonton film showed seagulls or UFOs - or of what the air force told them the next morning - ONE is as close as we get to a documented version of the rumoured Majestic-12 group.
With the Cold War in full swing, the CIA was also watching for UFO activity behind the Iron Curtain. Field stations were to be alerted to any mention of flying saucers by Iron Curtain countries and the CIA discovered that the Soviet establishment mirrored its own ambiguity about UFOs.
The files spotlight Soviet articles in 1968 that show some scientists thought they were real, while others ridiculed the sightings as US propaganda.
One Soviet sceptic noted, with tongue firmly in cheek: "The number of saucers always grows sharply on the eve of presidential elections. This is difficult to explain.
"Maybe people on other planets lay bets on who will win in the next elections - the Republicans or the Democrats."

Russellville, Arkansas: Nuclear One Power Plant UFOs Over Plant
|
Posted: October 27, 2007
Date: N/A Time: 10:00 p.m. -11:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Russellville, Arkansas: Nuclear One power plant. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 2 Shape of objects: N/A.
HBCC UFO Research Note: Of course all personal information of the witnesses will remain between the person and I.
Full Description of event/sighting: To set the scene it was a clear Fall night and the stars were everywhere in the sky. You could see what looked like to be common airliners on route to Little Rock Airport.
We were out on some country road (we got lost), had been driving the dirt roads for about an hour. We needed a restroom break so I found a little entrance into a farm that had no gate. We didn't plan on staying any longer than it took to finish our business and leave. My friend said, "what is that?" He pointed to the sky and I just said, "that is the red light on an airplane." I was in the USAF and you see a lot of incoming and outgoing aircraft of many different types, so when I saw the light that is what I first thought of, and then he said, "Look at it man!" I looked at it again and the light just stopped and then resumed course. I zipped up my pants and we sat on the hood of my car and watched this light move around for about 10 minutes, then to our amazement and out of nowhere a second red light appeared far behind it. Too far to had been a single aircraft.
The lights were steady and moving along the same course for about another 10 minutes, then one light went out completely and the 2nd light seemed to speed up instantly and took the place of where the first light was last seen. My friend then pointed out a cloud. This cloud was coming from the cooling tower of the local power plant in Russellville which is about 22-25 miles away. The light remained near the steam for nearly 5 minutes then in the blink of an eye went from a dead hover to a diagonal up and right. Now I'm not good enough to tell you the speed of this object but I can tell you that the speed of this object was so extreme that the only thing I can judge by it is like trying to watch a bullet leave the barrel of a gun and follow it to the target. My friend was a bit shaken by seeing this, and so was I. We were speechless and didn't talk the rest of the time we were watching. I saw the angles in which this light was traveling and I don't know any craft we have that can allow a pilot to make such drastic changes in speed and angle without becoming unconscious or being killed by sheer G-force. It was truly a remarkable sight to see.
Just when we thought it was all over and done with the 1st light reappeared in the same place it had vanished and the 2nd red light came back to the same distance when it had first appeared. The two lights kind of made like a subtle flash (as we had been watching it, we had not see any fluctuation from these lights at all). Then Poof! they were gone. We sat there for another 30 minutes hoping they would show up again, however they did not.
(Now, I'm telling you this and have not posted it anywhere else on the web. I do not wish to be made public. I just hope this helps confirm similar accounts if you even have any like this. Your feed back to me would be much appreciated.)
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Quapaw's 'Lights' Remain A Mystery
|
By David Zizzo
Staff Writer
Tuesday October 30, 2007-QUAPAW -- One night, Bill Blalock and some friends were sitting
in the dark on a country road in a car with the engine off.
People do that a lot around here, especially around Halloween.
"We were just talking, watching," said Blalock, of nearby Miami.
That's when Blalock spotted a car coming up from behind.
"The closer it got, the more it didn't look like a car
headlight," Blalock said.
It wasn't. When the light appeared to be about 100 yards from
the group, "it went up in the trees."
The yellowish light "probably the size of a bass drum," as
Blalock described it, darted around and came out on the other
side of the group's car. It dropped toward the ground, Blalock
said.
For 15 minutes, the display continued.
Everyone knows
The more people you ask around here about the lights, the more
stories you'll hear. Everyone knows about the "spook lights"
even if they don't know what they are. The lights are well known
in this area of abandoned mines and rolling hills at the edge of
the Ozarks.
Suggestions have been made that the lights, which have been
reported for generations, result from a physical aspect of the
environment, such as an escaping gas or vehicle lights from the
nearby turnpike.
The story long has been told that the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers even tried to figure out what the lights were, but
corps spokesman Edward Engelke said his agency has no record of
such involvement.
"It just wouldn't make any sense they'd send our agency out to
do something like that," he said.
Even if the scientific side is legend, this mystery has plenty
of better legends.
"It's supposed to be two people madly in love that died, blah,
blah, blah," said Pam Lovell, who works at the Miami News
Record.
Or the light is a lantern carried by the spirit of an old miner
who disappeared while wandering the fields. Or it's a torch
carried by an American Indian searching for the head that was
chopped off by his wife, a task that would seem difficult, given
such a handicap.
Whatever the myth or explanation, one thing is clear: Lots of
people say they've seen something, whether it's a small green
dot or an orange fireball.
"It's really cool," Lovell said.
Terry Tyree, principal of the Quapaw High School, recalls seeing
the light when he was younger. "It was like a bright white ball
in the sky."
"It's just interesting to watch," he said. "It's not scary at
all."
Seeing is believing
Blalock's granddaughter, Alisa Blalock, 20, had always heard
about the light, but she wasn't sure it existed. Until one night
driving a dark road with her mother, the women spotted an orange
"ball of fire" hovering over a pasture about 20 yards from the
road.
"I didn't really believe it until I seen it myself," Alisa
Blalock said.
Occasionally, when the lights get publicity, usually around
Halloween, roads east of Quapaw get a little less lonely. During
the height of the UFO scares of the mid-1950s, northeastern
Oklahoma mystery lights got so much publicity that The Oklahoman
reported the "Dancing 'Fire Ball' Causes Road Jam" near Sand
Springs, 80 miles to the southwest. Turns out that "spirits"
causing that mystery light, which was said to be accompanied by
a low moan, were two Tulsa teens with flashlights and green
towels perched on a cliff.
But these spook lights have endured. They've been reported for
generations in the corner of northeastern Oklahoma, southwestern
Kansas and southeastern Missouri, an area sometimes described as
the "Spooksville Triangle" or the Devil's Promenade, the latter
a name of an old Indian settlement in Ottawa County. In
Missouri, the phenomenon is goes by several names, including the
"Joplin Spook Light" and the "Hornet Ghost Light."
The lights for a time inspired impromptu "museums," such as
Spooky Joe's near the Oklahoma border and the "Free Spook Light
Museum." The museums are gone, but the tales, the mystery and,
apparently, the lights continue.
"A lot of people are saying, 'It's just your imagination,'" Bill
Blalock said. "I don't think I've imagined it 20 times. Whatever
it is, it's real."

Stopped at night on the side of the road, two Russian truck
drivers were astounded by the sight of a spaceship before them
and amazed when one of the drivers was welcomed aboard.
On the night of 2nd November, 1989 the air temperature dropped
very suddenly to below freezing. Two professional Russian truck
drivers, Oleg Kirzhakov and his companion Nikolai Baranchikov
were driving their truck from near the area of Arkhangelsk to
Moscow. They were hurrying home to finish all the formalities
related to their business trip before the holidays. In the
vicinity of Emtza railway station, the road was blocked by heaps
of sand and gravel. The road in front of them was under repair
and Oleg had to turn onto a dirt road to detour. On one bend in
the road, the truck's headlights fell upon a huge structure,
which was standing off to the right of the road.
"I thought it was some kind of construction equipment," said
Oleg. "There were many machines there because the road was under
construction. However, when I drove closer, I saw a big object,
that in the headlights had a metallic sheen to it. When we got
to within 8090 feet of the object, our motor stalled, and our
truck coasted several feet further and stopped. The headlights
that were connected to the back-up power source were still on.
My partner and I couldn't understand what had happened. The road
at this point had a bend in it and trees on the right side of
the road blocked our view of the object. We understood that we
were seeing something very unusual in front of us, and were
afraid that something unavoidable would happen. Hence, I asked
Nikolai to remain in the truck and observe events while I
approached the object. I left the cab and decided to approach
the object to examine it more closely. After I had passed the
hood of the truck, I began to feel, with each step I took, an
increased resistance from the air. My body seemed to meltit
became difficult to move, and I knew that if I got any closer to
the object, I would not be able to move at all."
Oleg turned back toward the truck and tried to approach the
object from another direction. He moved carefully, stopping
after each step. He felt the same, constantly-increasing
resistance from the air. He succeeded in coming to within about
3036 feet of the object. He stopped on the shoulder of the road
and began to examine it very carefully. Very quickly, he came to
the conclusion that this object was not of Earthly origin.
Truly, it was something very unusual. In front of Oleg, there
stood a huge disc-shaped object, approximately 120140 feet in
diameter, with a dome-shaped top, on which no other structures
were visible. Along the perimeter of the disc, there were some
dark holes evident, which Oleg at first thought were portholes.
Extending from the lower part of the object, there were two
structures visible, which seemed to support the ship. The far
edge of the disc was slightly elevated, and was resting on some
birch trees, two of which were broken. The object looked dark
and uninhabited and there were no traces visible of windows,
doors or hatches.
A fiery request
Why is this object here, in the middle of the forest, at night?
What is its purpose? Maybe something has gone wrong and it needs
assistance? All these questions flooded Oleg's mind and at that
very moment, in front of him, at a distance of an outstretched
hand, right in the air, appeared a glimmering red, dotted line.
This line formed a transparent, square-shaped screen, 150 mm x
150 mm in size, with rounded corners. Several words, written in
red letters, appeared on the screen. Oleg did not remember the
exact phrase, but the essence of the phrase was a request for
"burning fire".
Oleg continued, "I realised that the screen was illuminated on
the body of the object. I mechanically turned to look back at
Nikolai, who was still sitting in the cab of the truck. Once
again, I observed the screen, but this time it appeared to be in
front of the truck.
I attempted to look from one side to the other, but no matter
where I turned my eyes, the screen remained in front of them.
The distance to the screen remained constant and I reached out
my hand to try to touch it. My friend, Nikolai, who was watching
these antics from the cab of the truck, later asked me why I
moved my hands.
The screen remained in front of me for the duration of the
contact. However, the inscriptions which appeared on the screen
remained only as long as was necessary for me to understand each
one and only then was the last inscription replaced by a new
one."
Only after Oleg understood what was being demanded of him, he
carefully backed away from the object, constantly looking back
toward the truck, and still sensing the same resistance. He
returned to the truck and tried to open the right door of the
cab, in order to obtain some kitchen matches. Despite the
combined efforts of both men, they were not able to open the
door for a considerable length of time. Suddenly, the door was
able to be opened quite easily. Oleg removed the box of matches
from the truck's cabin, together with a bottle of laboratory
alcohol, which was used as an anti-freeze in the braking system.
Again asking Nikolai not to leave the truck, Oleg returned to
the same place on the shoulder of the road where he had stood
before. However, this time he was able to move easily and he
experienced none of the resistance he had encountered
previously. He gathered some dry leaves into a pile, poured on
some alcohol and ignited them. Upon lifting his head, he
observed that a passage appeared on the surface of the object,
which extended into the interior, forming a corridor. At the
distant end of this corridor, he could see a glimmering, bluish
light.
"At first, I had the impression that a shadow was moving inside
the corridor, but then I realised that something was moving in
the corridor toward the opening. When I finally realised what
was occurring, I began stepping backward and fell into the ditch
along the side of the road. I jumped back onto my feet and
continued to observe what was happening. Something approached
the opening and I saw that it was a dark "mass," which reminded
me of a bag or sack. As the "mass" moved, it swayed and bent
from side to side, and its periphery was vague in appearance. At
this moment, a shaft extended from the object, bent and
descended to the surface of the ground. The "mass" slid down the
shaft, and while increasing in size, approached the fire of
burning leaves. I was paralysed by fear! The "mass" stood by the
fire for a moment and then began to return to the object, taking
with it the box of matches. Returning along the same path, the
"mass" disappeared in the corridor, together with the box of
matches! Only then did I finally succeed in extracting myself
from the ditch. I returned to the road and glanced back at my
truck again. The truck's headlights blinded me, but I
nevertheless could see the frightened face of Nikolai, which was
pressed forward tightly against the windshield."
An invitation to enter
For a long time, Oleg remained standing on the road, and was
unable to recover his senses. Realising that he was witnessing
an event that he might never again experience, he decided to
wait and observe what would happen next. He had a sudden wish to
observe the ship more closely and immediately an invitation to
enter the ship appeared on the screen, which remained visible in
front of him. After a short pause, Oleg decided to approach the
object.
The first thing that caught his attention was several round
openings, approximately 300 mm in diameter, which at first he
interpreted to be portholes. Inside these openings, at a depth
of 300350 mm, a "grid" of intersecting lines, light grey in
colour, was visible. The central axis of the openings was
displaced approximately 30 degrees from the plane formed by the
surface of the object.
Oleg was also able to examine one of the support legs that the
object rested on. The leg consisted of two parts, which were
connected at an articulating joint. The cross-section of each of
the two parts of the leg was in the profile of a three-sided
channel beam, with the lower part being smaller in diameter,
such that it could be folded inside the upper portion. On the
bottom of the ship, recessed areas were clearly visible into
which the legs could be retracted. However, because of poor
illumination in the area where the leg was located, Oleg was not
able to examine in detail the actual construction of the leg.
The far side of the object was resting on trees and was slanted
toward Oleg, such that the lower portion of the opening was just
above the level of his head. In order to establish the material
that the object was made of, Oleg wanted to touch it with his
hand. A shaft came out of the portion of the object that was
nearest to him. It appeared to be a round, smooth tube, with a
diameter of approximately 50 mm. The tube was cold and felt
metallic. Then, events developed in the following manner:
"I had a desire to look inside, but since the door was above my
head, I decided to grab hold of the tube and jump. The instant I
grabbed the tube, I found myself standing just inside the
opening. There was nothing there in the form of either steps or
an elevator. I did not feel any kind of external influence, but
rather everything seemed to happen naturally, or by itself. I
thought of the possibility of danger to me and decided to be as
careful as possible. At that instant, I received a message on
the screen that I had nothing to be afraid of, and that I could
enter. Upon entering the corridor, I looked at the walls and
noticed the absence of doors. The corridor was significantly
wider than the opening, the floor was flat, and the walls and
ceiling formed an oval shape.
"I went along the corridor toward the shimmering light and felt
that I was walking on a flat, metallic floor. Somehow, I got the
feeling that the surrounding walls did not have simply a
decorative covering, but rather they were structural, and
something was connected to them from the back side. There
clearly was some sort of strengthening device attached to them.
I did not want to touch the walls, so I am unable to say exactly
what it was that served to strengthen them."
Masses of Lights
Oleg had to proceed along the corridor for approximately 2025
feet. At the end of the corridor, he saw that it entered into a
large hall with a diameter of approximately 60 feet. On the
periphery of the hall, there were five other entrances, similar
in appearance to the one through which he had just entered. The
ceiling in the hall was domed and it was emitting a soft,
diffuse, blue light. Between the other entrances and along the
walls, there were panels of flashing lights. Each panel appeared
to consist of five or six vertical elements. To the left of the
entrance through which Oleg had entered, two walls had no
panels. In place of the panels, there were horizontal recesses
in the walls, which were dark in colour. Also to the left, he
observed two dark, vague spots that looked like bags, which at
first were motionless, but then began to move toward him. The
bags were identical to the "mass" which he had seen near the
fire.
Oleg stopped, and stood motionless at the entrance to the hall.
"As soon as I looked around the hall, certain questions came to
me, answers to which appeared immediately on the screen. But
then I noticed that answers appeared in my head before I was
able to read them on the screen. Several answers were
accompanied by demonstrations of the operation of those
structures that interested me. In such a manner, my question of
the significance of the dark, horizontal recess in the wall off
to my left was demonstrated to me. The recess was a three-
dimensional information screen, on which I was shown the
interior of another sister ship, with the same moving 'masses'
(during the demonstration, the two 'masses' in our ship were
motionless). Then, they showed a ship in space, among the stars,
and at the end of the demonstration, they showed the presenter
of a Soviet television program called Vremya.
"Off to my right side, there was an oval control panel, or desk,
located about five feet from the wall, on which there were many
switches and lights. All of the illuminated buttons had a flat,
square shape. Some of them were elevated above the level of the
control panel, and others were flush with the top of the panel.
On the upper surface of the lamps, there were some symbols in
the form of geometric figures, e.g. circles, triangles,
quadrilateral figures, lines, etc., and combinations of the
above. The black switches on the panel were similar in
appearance to toggle switches. There were no meters or scales on
the control panel at all."
In addition, Oleg described a long, straight divan, which stood
next to the control panel, and a circular crack in the floor,
which surrounded the central part of the hall. The crack gave
him reason to believe that the central part of the floor was
able to rotate, allowing the control panel to be positioned in
front of any of the vertical panels situated along the walls. On
the vertical panels, Oleg noticed the same types of lights that
were on the control panel. Many of these lights were flashing.
The entire interior of the hall was white in colour, including
the floor, and only from the ceiling shone soft, blue light.
Looking upward, Oleg tried to locate the source of the light,
while simultaneously asking about the nature of the light. No
answer to his question appeared on the screen. Then, in response
to his question, "Who are you?" and "Where are you from?" the
dome in the hall slowly started to dim, and like in a
planetarium, a star map appeared on the ceiling.
While Oleg was trying to find some familiar star system, one of
the stars suddenly began to pulsate and descend slowly. The
dark, almost black starlit sky, combined with the pulsating star
suspended over Oleg's head, as well as with the flashing lights
of the control and vertical panels, emitted enough light to
permit him to see all elements in the entire interior of the
spacecraft. In a minute, the pulsating star slowly rose and the
dome reilluminated with the diffuse blue light. Oleg was unable
to carefully study and remember the star map shown to him. He
asked where this pulsating star was located. They answered,
"This is in your galaxy".
"I asked question after question. The answers I received were
heard in my head before I saw them on the screen. I asked, 'What
kind of ship am I on now? What kind of propulsion system do you
use to make it fly?' In response I was told that this spacecraft
was a scout ship and used electromagnetic fields to fly. I was
also told that they were studying our planet, which they need as
a springboard to the future.
In response to my question 'Do you have any connection with
Bigfoot?', they said, 'Yes' and added that they watch Bigfoot
continuously. As I was asking question after question, I
suddenly noticed that a third 'mass' had appeared in the hall
and then a fourth.
I watched a conversation take place between them and came to the
understanding that the time for me to leave had arrived. My next
thought was to leave something with them for a memory. I took
off my watch, and wanted to put it on the floor, but at that
moment, I was told that they had a complete knowledge of the
Earth and needed nothing. For the first time during this visit,
they asked me, 'Why do I use a watch made in another country?'
"Then I asked, 'Is it possible to see you once again?' They
said, 'If you are in danger we will find you within 15 seconds'.
"Backing out a few steps from the hall, I turned and went along
the corridor towards the opening. As I came up to the opening of
the spacecraft, I took hold of the tube by my right hand and I
immediately found myself standing on the ground. Not looking
back, I went to the ditch and crossed over to the road, to the
same place where I had stood a few minutes before. When I looked
back, I noticed that the tube and the opening had disappeared.
After a few seconds, I saw the outer rim begin to move in a
clockwise direction. The dome began to move approximately 30
seconds later in a counterclockwise direction and a luminescence
surrounded the spacecraft. As the revolutions became faster, the
luminescence enveloped the spacecraft and it became a ball of
light."
Oleg noticed that the rotation of all parts of the craft and the
luminescence was happening in absolute silence. At this moment
he saw on the road two more cars with their headlights on. For a
few seconds this distracted his attention from the spacecraft.
The sound of the trees cracking made him turn and look at the
spacecraft. The ball of light slightly shifted position and
slowly began to rise. Abruptly accelerating, the craft shot out
of sight towards the north east. His friend Nikolai got out of
the truck and together with the occupants from the other
vehicles, came up to Oleg. They asked him a lot of questions.
Oleg was impressed by the experience but at the same time, was
too moved to speak or fully realise all that had just happened.
His hands and legs were trembling. When he got into his truck,
he was unable to use the accelerator or to shift gears. He had
to let his partner drive.
Oleg leaned back on the truck seat and looked at his watch,
which he still had in his hand. From the moment the truck had
stopped, 20 minutes had passed. They still had a day and a half
to get to Moscow, their destination. ?

Kansas-Shiny Object, No Wings
|
11-03-Four people were traveling in a car eastward on Kansas Highway 50 toward Dodge City. About 4 miles east of Cimarron, KS, at 9:40 A.M. on Saturday, November 3, 2007, an aircraft was sighted flying at low altitude over the fields north of the highway. It appeared to be flying approximately 500 to 1000 feet above the ground. The aircraft, from a distance, appeared to be low flying crop-dusting aircraft making a wide counter-clockwise arc around the field less than half a mile from the highway. Two people witnessed this object: the driver and front passenger.
As we drove further along, we noticed that the craft was shiny silver in color with some areas of red along the side and rear of the plane. However, when we were nearest to it, we realized it had NO WINGS. It had a crumpled appearance, as if the outside shell of the craft had large dented areas. It also had a single rear fin. It left no vapor trail and was completely silent. The front passenger of the car watched the object continuously and exclaimed that it had suddenly disappeared. The driver was looking at the road briefly while driving then looked back out the left window and saw that the aircraft was gone. It had not landed or flown out of view. It had simply disappeared. The two witnesses scanned the entire clear blue sky, and the aircraft could not be located.
Both witnesses are familiar with various kinds of low-flying aircraft that are normally visible in the area, such as crop-dusting propeller planes and ultra-light aircraft. This aircraft was neither of those. It was not a conventional aircraft. source: www.mufon.com

Michigan-Triangle Object
|
11-02-My wife and I were sitting on our deck watching the sky for shooting stars, it was a very clear night. My wife noticed it first, a triangle, dark in the middle with lights on each point. It appeared out of nowhere and traveled across the sky and over our house at a very high rate of speed. She brought it to my attention and I saw it as well. It was completely silent. The object took about 5 or so seconds to cross the sky and went over the house where we lost site of it. It traveled in a east/south east direction towards the town of Brighton. The object appeared to be solid because as it traveled it blotted out stars behind it. Hard to tell how big or how high it was due to not having a frame of reference. My guess is that it was about 1,500 to 2,000 feet up. As for size, I'd guess bigger than an airliner. All three lights were white and equidistant to each other. It flew in a straight pattern. I called this sighting into the local Sheriff's department. source: www.mufon.com

Nebraska-Wishbone Shaped Objects
|
11-02-High, strangely moving cirrus clouds that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere turned our direction skyward. We witnessed two flat, noiseless objects within five minutes of each other. They appeared to have a skeletal, wishbone like frame and moved across the sky like a glider might move. We could not make out any defined body but there did seem to be some kind of dark area within the frame. The back end or tail had no real definition it seemed to almost fade into the sky. The crafts were in sight for approximately ten seconds each, before we lost sight of them. These two crafts came out of what appeared to be high altitude cirrus clouds, moving in a east-southeasterly direction. The clouds were long, thin and transparent, localized to a specific area in the sky. The clouds themselves seemed to last no more then two hours in duration. I noticed the clouds at eleven PM central time and they had completely vanished out of sight by about one fifteen am.
The crafts seemed to emerge directly out of the cloud bank and both crafts heading in a southeasterly fashion. The overall feeling of the event was very negative. source: www.mufon.com

South Carolina-Elongated Triangle
|
10-20-We were driving home that evening; and as we turned to enter our neighborhood, I spotted lights in the sky. When I looked through the windshield and then out my side window (by this time it was almost directly overhead, flying toward us), I clearly saw a fairly large, elongated triangle shape that was darker than the sky. There were multiple green lights running lengthwise down the center. The shape was very distinct--no protrusions anywhere, just straight edges. Because of the terrain and trees which obscured my view as we turned, I could only get one more brief glimpse--this time from the rear. All the lights appeared yellow from that angle. I was unable to see a side or top view at any point, only the underside. My husband did not see it (though he was certainly aware that I did!), and we did not stop the car or cut off the engine; however, in retrospect, neither of us remember hearing any sound. I know it was not an ordinary airplane; and it seemed too low for a flight approaching the Greenville-Spartanburg airport. It all happened VERY quickly, and I very much regret not insisting that we turn around and try to catch sight of it again. source: www.mufon.com

Texas-Diamond Shaped Object
|
11-01-I stepped out onto the front patio of my house, which faces directly SE, to enjoy my daily ritual of the morning coolness with my coffee and cigarette. The sky was quite clear, no clouds or fog, temperature about 45 degrees centigrade, with a very light breeze from the South. The Milky Way was clearly visible.
I was looking up towards the East at Venus, which is quite bright this time of year, when I noticed a very bright object appear from behind and just above the tree line across the street from my home. When it first appeared, it's angle was about 30 degrees above the horizon and due SE.
The object was unusually bright; I estimate it to be about twice the brightness of the planet Venus at the time. When I first saw it, it was about 20 degrees to the right of Venus. It was moving slowly (roughly 2-3 degrees of arc per second) and I initially thought that it was an airplane. There was no sound. I observed this object for another 10-15 seconds as it moved higher above the horizon, moving NW and eventually above my head. I began to notice that the object was not only getting much brighter, but it had no visible clearance lights of any kind. I also noticed that it began to have a visible shape to it.
It was irregular in appearance, roughly diamond-shaped, but it was still way too small to make out any details. I then thought that maybe I was looking at a satellite or maybe the International Space Station, but I also realized that such objects don't move from East to West. This got my curiosity up.
I ran inside my house to grab my binoculars, a Vivatar 7x50 (297ft @ 100yards). At this moment, the object was directly overhead. Knowing this, I ran to the back of my house to the back porch that faced NW.
At this point, the object had just become visible overhead. I quickly adjusted the focus on my binoculars. What I saw through the eyepieces was a solid potato-shaped object, slightly irregular in appearance, approximately the size of a grain of rice held at arm's length. No details could be seen. No lights of any kind. No visible contrail, glow, or halo. It did not appear to rotate or have any other kind of movement along any axis. It was bright white in color.
After observing this object for about another 10 seconds, I noticed that the object began to quickly change color from bright white to grey and then to a ruddy red. At this moment, the object was approximately 50-55 degrees above the horizon, directly NW.
I deduced that the object was possibly passing through the penumbra and into the shadow of the Earth.
It then suddenly went dark at about a 45 degree angle above the horizon. I checked my watch and the time was 5:41am CDT.
Personal background: I'm a US Army-trained observer, familiar with almost all both civilian and military aircraft configurations and nighttime lighting. I have good knowledge of established civilian air traffic patterns in my area. I am also an amateur astronomer who owns an 6 inch Newtonian telescope which I use for personal enjoyment. I have way above-average knowledge of Astronomy.
Based upon my personal observations of the object in question, along with it's angle and direction of travel, brightness in magnitude and variations in said magnitude as it passed overhead, and other characteristics, I have ruled-out any civilian or military aircraft, or possibly most any low-earth orbit satellites.
The object could possibly have been a stratospheric-level weather balloon, but the wind directions on the ground and higher elevations at the time rules this out (I checked the NOAA reports before I posted this). source: www.mufon.com

Canada-Two Reddish Orbs
|
11-02-It was around 9 PM Eastern Time Canada. I was outside with my room mate taking a smoke. It was chilly outside, around 2 degrees Celsius. So I wanted this smoking time to be as brief as possible. My room-mate and I started talking about a subject regarding the universe and all its mysteries. The conversation lasted about 15 minutes.
I was just about to finish my cigarette when I looked up at the sky and saw two reddish orbs fly about less than 3000 feet across the sky perpendicular to us. At first I thought it was a falling star. But I noticed that It did not leave that typical trail of light. I am a pilot and I know about all flying vehicles. They all standardly hold a starboard green light and a Port red light, strobe lights, and rotating beacon. And at that altitude and thats speed, it would have made an incredible noise. But those objects where flying at about 1000 km and made absolutely NO SOUND.
What I noticed really odd is that they where criss crossing and rotating around each other. Like if playing with each other. This part is the hardest to describe but I hope the reader understand what I mean by this. The flight pattern and the way they where flying was not rectilinear. The flight patterns of those UFOs where constantly moving either in front, back, rotating around each other. They acted as two birds who fell in love. The most impressive part is that they did not make any sound. There where no clouds around. So it could not be a form of projector or light at any kind.
I grabbed my room mate by the arm as strong as I could, started to yell at him, told him to look up because there was an incredible event happening. He did not see anything. My adrenaline went up because I knew what I had witnessed. At that instant I wanted to call the authorities and the news broadcasting company to tell them what I had seen. I ended up not doing that. Those objects disappeared behind the houses. source: www.mufon.com
