    Reader Recounts UFO Crash in Alaska, late 1940s
    UFO From 1947 to 1952 I lived in Anchorage, Alaska. Because that was so long ago I do not have a specific date of this UFO sighting but my best estimate is that it was 1949. Weather was moderate so it happened between May and October and my best estimate is the end of May. There was no snow on the ground but it was about 9:30 PM and it was rather dark out. In later months it would have been lighter at that time of evening.

    For some reason four adults and myself (I was about 9 or 10 years old) were outside in our neighborhood. The location was government housing consisting of two-story duplex houses. This neighborhood still exists but now looks quite different as there are trees and landscape plants. In 1949 there were no substantial trees in this area and one had a good view of the Chugach mountains from just about any spot.

    It may have been that a practice air raid and blackout was being conducted. That was done from time to time. A small plane would fly over the town and report, on public radio, if any lights were visible.

    At any rate we were standing outside and noticed a light in the sky moving from west to east. The Chugach mountains are south of the city, higher toward the east and tapering down toward the west. The light came from behind the end of the lower mountains which were to our right as we faced the mountains. It seemed to be heading west as it became visible emerging from the behind the mountain, then it turned and moved east so the mountains provided a backdrop.

    It was a very bright light, and when first seen, about the size of a pea held at arms length, and as high in the sky as the peaks in the west. As it moved east it came closer, appeared larger, and gradually lost altitude. When it had moved to a point opposite our location it was at (I'm guessing here) three or four thousand feet altitude.

    It now appeared about the size of a dime held at arm's length... or a bit smaller. It was a white/yellow light and I could see the shape as a domed saucer with "ports" above the midline horizontally. As it moved it developed a wobble on the horizontal axis. It was obvious that it was out of control and headed for a crash yet it seemed to try to regain control of its flight path. It seemed that one should have been able to hear a sound, but there was no sound.

    It continued moving west and losing altitude. It was going fast, at least 300MPH I would guess. It obviously crashed, but again there was no sound and because it was dark there was no evidence of a cloud of dust or smoke.

    The next day I was told that several men, who were employed in some capacity by the government such as CAA, were dispatched to see if they could find the crash site. They found something which was crated and sent to Wright Patterson in Dayton.

    I'm sure someone could analyze what I saw and given actual height of the mountains and my distance from the flight path could determine just what the actual size of this object was. Because it was such a bright light there was some optical illusion of a blur on the outer edge. You would not see that if looking at a conventional aircraft so I can't guess with any accuracy just how large this saucer was. It was probably about the size of a medium to large aircraft of today. I do believe this occurred prior to the time when the first fighter jet passed over Anchorage and broke the sound barrier.

    Witness Encounters Triangle on Florida Road: Electromagnetic Effects
    UFO On October 23, 2007, I witnessed an amazing UFO sighting on a long straight road in Eustis, Florida. It was around 3 O'clock AM. I was returning home from a long night shift. I was driving about 55 mph, and about 300 ft in front of me flew a triangular shaped craft.

    An opposite concave triangle with three red dots on each corner and a single purplish light in the middle, hard to explain the exact color of this light. Anyway, about 3 seconds after I initially sighted the object, all the electrical components in my truck ceased, also my wrist watch stopped working!

    The object turned, as to confront me, rose about 50 feet, and the red lights moved towards the center light, and it just vanished with a loud "CRACK" like a whip. Nobody in my family believes me, calls me crazy. I know, however; that as long as UFO sightings continue, people will believe.

    There was absolutely no other mechanical devices in the area besides the object and my truck the object was to the north heading east in a zigzag pattern (up, down, side, side, up, down, side, side)

    The 1958 Fontes Flying Saucer Briefing
    UFO by Ed Komarek

    November 4, 2007-Dr. Olavo T. Fontes, of Brazil was a prominent UFO researcher in the 1950's. He was one of the best informed civilian UFO researchers of the 1950's and he died a untimely and suspicious death from a fast acting cancer while he was still in his 30's. He died soon after he was threatened by two intelligence agents from the United States. His letter was published in the Book UFO Crash Aztec along with other materials relating to Dr. Fontes, if anybody is interested in more information do a net search.

    This letter is so important to expolitics because it gives a very detailed idea of the paranoid mentality of the armed forces in the 1950's as they clamped down on critical people in the know who were leaking information to the public. It also shows how well organized and coordinated the worlds military forces were on the subject of extraterrestrial life. The letter was found in Dr. Fontes files long after his death and was a long letter. The following is what the intelligence agents told him and is excerpted from the much longer letter that even Steinman did not publish in its entirety in UFO Crash At Aztec. The letter was written on February 27, 1958.

    In discussions which lasted for almost two hours they disclosed the following information about the flying saucer problem:

    1. They told me that all governments and military authorities through the world know that flying saucers exist–and that they are craft from another planet. The have absolute proof of both things.

    2. As a matter of fact, six flying discs already crashed on this earth and were captured and taken apart by military forces and scientists of the countries involved–under the most rigid and ruthless security restrictions to keep the matter absolutely secret. One of those discs crashed in the Sahara Desert but was too much destroyed to be of some use. Three others crashed in the United States, two of them in very good condition. The fifth crashed somewhere in the British Islands, and the last one came down at one of the Scandinavian countries; these two were almost undamaged too. All these six discs were small craft – 32, 72, or 99 feet in diameter. In all of them were found bodies of members of their crews.

    They were “little men” and ranged in height from 32 to 46 inches. They were dead in all cases, killed in the disasters. The examination of the bodies showed they were definitely “humanoid” – but obviously not from this planet. In some cases the cause of the crash was determined with accuracy; it wasn’t apparent in the others. All ships had the general shape of a saucer with a cabin on the top; all of them were of a very light metal which was assembled in segments that fitted in deep grooves and were pinned together around the base. There was no sign of this on the outer surface of the ships. Some of the ships had portholes made of an unknown type of glass; many kinds of unknown materials were found inside the ships.

    3. Examination of instruments and devices found aboard these discs showed that they were propelled by an extremely powerful electro-magnetic field. Evidence shows it is a rotating and oscillating high voltage electro-magnetic field. Such a kind of field obviously produces some type of gravity effect yet not understood.

    4. All ships were carefully dismantled and studied. Unfortunately the more important problem was not solved; how these fields were produced and what was the source of the tremendous amount of electric energy released through these fields. No clues were found in any of the discs examined. Apparently they got their power from nowhere. There is , on the other hand, evidence that large UFOs use some type of atomic engines as power source suggests that they were able to transmit electric power through radio beams as we now send it through wires. Some of the devices found inside the small diss would well serve to receive and to concentrate the electric power coming this way. If this is right, a nuclear power-plant operated on a ship or satellite of large dimensions, placed outside our atmosphere. None of these UFOs of greater size was captured till now.

    5. Our scientists could build a ship propelled by a similar rotating and oscillating electro-magnetic field– if they knew some method to change the energy released into a nuclear-reactor directly into electric power. The problem is not solved yet.

    6. These visitors from outer space are dangerous when apprehended and definitely hostile when attacked. We have already lost many planes attempting to shoot down one of them. We have no defense against them till now. They outperform easily any of our fighters, which have no chance against them. Guided missiles are also useless; they can fly still faster than any of them and can even maneuver around them, as if they were toys; or they can interfere with their electric instruments and make the useless soon after launched; or, if they like, the can explode them before they reach their proximities. They have produced the crash of military planes (propeller or jet type) and airliners by stalling their engines through interference with their electrical systems. (We don’t know yet if this is a side effect or their powerful magnetic field, or the result of some kind of weapon–possibly a high frequency beam of some sort).

    They have also a horribly destructive long range weapon which has been used mercilessly against our jet fighters. In one case, for example, an U.S. Navy interceptor with a crew of two, scrambled to go after an UFO. Their mission was, as usual, to make it land or to shoot it down–if necessary. They used their guns. The answer was immediate and terrifying,: instantly all metallic parts of their plane was disintegrated, disrupted into thousands of fragments, and they found themselves suddenly seated in the air (non metallic pieces or objects were not affected by the phenomenon); one of them was killed but the other lived to tell the story. We have evidence that this tremendous weapon is an ultra-sonic beam of some sort, which disrupts the molecular cohesion of any metallic structure. They have means to paralyze our radar systems too, to interfere with our radio and television apparatus, and to short-circuit our electric power-plants.

    7. The have not showed, till now, any interest in contacting us. They are obviously preparing a planet-wide huge military operation to interfere against us. We don’t know what kind of operation will be this. There are, however, three possibilities: (a) total war followed my mass-landings, to destroy our power, slave the remnant of our people and colonize the planet; (b) police-action to stop our plans for the conquest of space, and to avoid our dangerous progress in the field of atomic weapons; this would involve mass landings at strategic points with occupation by forces of limited areas of vital interest for their purposes; (c) “friendly interference” (followed by military intimidation) to make us agree with their plans for us–whatever they may be–avoiding open war or any other kind of direct interference; patrolling and eventual police-action only outside our atmosphere.

    8. All military authorities and governments through the world are informed about the situation. There is an exchange of information through intelligence services, and top-secret military conferences are held periodically to discuss new developments on the subject. The Brazilian Navy, for example, receives monthly classified reports from the U.S. Navy and send back to them any information available here. A similar contact exists among our Army and Air Force and several (similar) military organizations in other countries. Here in Brazil only the persons who work in the problem know the real situation: intelligence officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force; some high-rank officers in the High Command; the National Security Council and a few scientists whose activities are connected with it; and a few members of certain civilian organizations doing research for military projects.

    9. All information about the UFO-subject from military is not only classified or reserved for official uses, it is top-secret. Civilian authorities and military officers in general are not entitled to know. Even our President is not informed of the whole truth.

    10. Military authorities through the world agree that the people are not entitled to know anything about the problem. Some military groups believe that such a knowledge would be a tremendous shock–enough to paralyze the life in our countries for many years in the future. On the other side, the believe that flying saucer reconnaissance (as it is now) might last other 10 years–the people couldn’t be controlled for so long a time and the danger of uncontrolled panic would be high. Besides, the probability of UFO-hostile interference (described on item 7) is still estimated at 50%; there is yet a 10% probability that their hostility is only a consequence of our attacks against their ships; because of this possibility, we are attempting now to make them aware that we would like to make a peaceful contact–so, the orders now (now) are to avoid any further attack against their craft. This policy has been adopted generally, with the exception of some countries which still have fools in their Air Forces–who think otherwise. We don’t know if UFOs will react to these measures recently put under operation. We still hope the will.

    11. To conceal the truth from the public, a carefully planned censorship is under operation for several years. The policy to debunk the whole saucer-subject is the better weapon we are using for this purposed. Ridicule is an efficient tool against most people who attempt to inform the public but other measure are sometimes necessary. Chiefly against persons who possess evidence that, if published, would open the eyes of the people. In some countries force has been used to silence some of them, When this is not possible, all tricks had been used to make their evidence useless. In a few cases, unfortunately, violence had to be used.; we regret this but we have not choice. We are going to keep this thing secret at any cost. We are not interested in the so-called “inalienable rights” of the people. Right or wrong we– the military– are going to do our job and no one is going to stop us.

    UFO spotted over Deline, Ft. Franklin, Canada

    FORT FRANKLIN - An unidentified flying object was seen hovering over Deline the morning of Nov. 2.

    Simon Neyelle was on his way home at 5 a.m. when he first saw a bright light hovering near a ridge just outside of the community.

    "It was just sitting there, it didn't move," said Neyelle. He observed the object hovering over the ridge for an hour, and called other people in the community to see the object.

    Martina Taniton and Dave Taniton also saw the object and Dave took nearly an hour of footage. Martina described the object as a triangle shape with a big light in the middle of it that looked like a bright star. The object was close to the Taniton's residence, and Martina said it was slowly moving backwards.

    Pheobe Esau also saw the object and her husband took a short video. Esau said she could see some sort of laser coming out of the bottom of the object going into a lake below.

    The Taniton video was later shown at the Ehtseo Ayha school. The school's principal Reed Smith, who saw the video briefly, said it was a grainy image of a large glowing object hovering in the sky.

    Greg Wasserman, who works as an observer communicator and normally maintains radio contact with incoming aircraft, said he didn't get any radio communication. He noted, however, that not all aircraft always radio in when they are flying over.

    He said he briefly saw the bright light at around 8 a.m. when he went outside for a weather observation, and assumed it was an aircraft.

    "Usually when you see a bright light, it's a plane flying by."

    Kevin Hyllestad with Sahtu Helicopters, and Jodie Bohlken from Canadian Helicopters, the two companies who fly helicopters for the region, both said they had no aircraft flying close to Deline that morning.

    North-Wright Airways Ltd. would not confirm if they had any aircraft around Deline at that time.

    Ron Singer, a communications advisor with Nav Canada said they didn't received any reports of UFO's in the area at that time. The agency has no staff presence in the area, and Singer said that since UFO's usually don't have transponders they don't pick them up on radar.

    "There's no way of confirming if something was in that airspace," said Singer.

    What Would Alien Life Look Like?

    Life elsewhere in the universe might look like this... or it might look so different from us that we don't even recognize it as life. .. and would we even recognize it as life?

    You’ve seen space aliens in movies and on TV. But what might real alien life look like?

    That’s the question scientists are asking at NASA as they prepare to launch missions in search of extraterrestrial life within our own solar system.

    Earth & Sky talked to Steven Benner, a scientist at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution. He said we should widen our seach for what he calls ‘weird life.’

    Life here on Earth is is carbon-based and needs water to survive.

    But that might not be the case in the rest of the universe. Weird life is life that we’ve never seen and maybe never imagined.

    But how do we search for life that we can’t imagine?

    Benner said there are two ways: We can start with our own genetic code in the lab, and play around with the structure.

    Or we could look at the environment we might be landing on and try to create a chemical structure that might exist there. The only rule is that weird life must be able to reproduce and evolve.

    So the alien life that we find might not look anything like the aliens we see in the movies.

    Two Men Claim Separate UFO Encounters on Same Day
    UFO UFO in Kearney, Nebraska?

    Posted: Nov 9, 2007 08:30 AM CST-This week marked the anniversary of some out of this world occurences. It was 50 years ago, that this station reported an encounter with a spacecraft.

    Back in 1957, a grain buyer known by the name of Reinhold Schmidt was driving through Kearney, when he claimed to have encountered German speaking "Saturnians from Saturn." Schmidt claimed they stalled his car, and took him aboard their cigar shaped spaceship. And now, 50 years later, Bob Ayres is a local resident still trying to piece the puzzle together.

    "I believe he saw something, but I believe it was very possibly enhanced. The encounter that he had, he claims that he went aboard and talked to space people, and they told Schmidt about global warming," said Ayres.

    So some say that Schmidt was a little crazy, but according to official documentation, he appeared to be just fine.

    "They took him in for mental evaluation, and there was rumors that he was a little bit off. But I saw the report at the courthouse ten years later. And it said he passed his mental test, and seemed normal," explained Ayres.

    But something not so normal about that time, was the fact that there was another encounter by a farmer that same day. The farmer's tractor stalled, and he apparently had strange time himself. Bob was lucky enough to interview the farmer's brother, and this is what he said.

    "Well, he said, my brother had a strange experience out there at the same time."

    So definitely some inconclusive evidence. But there are a couple things that we can look for some reasoning behind these reports.

    "There were some movies that came out and I think it could have influenced a lot of things.

    To me, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" comes to mind," said Ayres.

    And the other thing that comes to mind, is of course a hoax.

    "I'm going to think probably 90 percent. Because a lot of people aren't trained observers. And maybe some people drink I suppose." And needless to say, whether it did or did not happen, it is a good story.

    Keith tells us that the Air Force went to the alleged location the very next day. And deemed the whole occurence a hoax.

    Kansas-Shiny Object, No Wings
    11-03-Four people were traveling in a car eastward on Kansas Highway 50 toward Dodge City. About 4 miles east of Cimarron, KS, at 9:40 A.M. on Saturday, November 3, 2007, an aircraft was sighted flying at low altitude over the fields north of the highway. It appeared to be flying approximately 500 to 1000 feet above the ground. The aircraft, from a distance, appeared to be low flying crop-dusting aircraft making a wide counter-clockwise arc around the field less than half a mile from the highway. Two people witnessed this object: the driver and front passenger.

    As we drove further along, we noticed that the craft was shiny silver in color with some areas of red along the side and rear of the plane. However, when we were nearest to it, we realized it had NO WINGS. It had a crumpled appearance, as if the outside shell of the craft had large dented areas. It also had a single rear fin. It left no vapor trail and was completely silent. The front passenger of the car watched the object continuously and exclaimed that it had suddenly disappeared. The driver was looking at the road briefly while driving then looked back out the left window and saw that the aircraft was gone. It had not landed or flown out of view. It had simply disappeared. The two witnesses scanned the entire clear blue sky, and the aircraft could not be located.

    Both witnesses are familiar with various kinds of low-flying aircraft that are normally visible in the area, such as crop-dusting propeller planes and ultra-light aircraft. This aircraft was neither of those. It was not a conventional aircraft. source: www.mufon.com

    Michigan-Triangle Object
    11-02-My wife and I were sitting on our deck watching the sky for shooting stars, it was a very clear night. My wife noticed it first, a triangle, dark in the middle with lights on each point. It appeared out of nowhere and traveled across the sky and over our house at a very high rate of speed. She brought it to my attention and I saw it as well. It was completely silent. The object took about 5 or so seconds to cross the sky and went over the house where we lost site of it. It traveled in a east/south east direction towards the town of Brighton.

    The object appeared to be solid because as it traveled it blotted out stars behind it. Hard to tell how big or how high it was due to not having a frame of reference. My guess is that it was about 1,500 to 2,000 feet up. As for size, I'd guess bigger than an airliner. All three lights were white and equidistant to each other. It flew in a straight pattern.     Nebraska-Wishbone Shaped Objects
    11-02-High, strangely moving cirrus clouds that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere turned our direction skyward.We witnessed two flat, noiseless objects within five minutes of each other. They appeared to have a skeletal, wishbone like frame and moved across the sky like a glider might move. We could not make out any defined body but there did seem to be some kind of dark area within the frame. The back end or tail had no real definition it seemed to almost fade into the sky. The crafts were in sight for approximately ten seconds each, before we lost sight of them.

    These two crafts came out of what appeared to be high altitude cirrus clouds, moving in a east-southeasterly direction. The clouds were long, thin and transparent, localized to a specific area in the sky. The clouds themselves seemed to last no more then two hours in duration. I noticed the clouds at eleven PM central time and they had completely vanished out of sight by about one fifteen am. The crafts seemed to emerge directly out of the cloud bank and both crafts heading in a southeasterly fashion. The overall feeling of the event was very negative. source: www.mufon.com

    South Carolina-Elongated Triangle
    10-20-We were driving home that evening; and as we turned to enter our neighborhood, I spotted lights in the sky. When I looked through the windshield and then out my side window (by this time it was almost directly overhead, flying toward us), I clearly saw a fairly large, elongated triangle shape that was darker than the sky. There were multiple green lights running lengthwise down the center. The shape was very distinct--no protrusions anywhere, just straight edges. Because of the terrain and trees which obscured my view as we turned, I could only get one more brief glimpse--this time from the rear.

    All the lights appeared yellow from that angle. I was unable to see a side or top view at any point, only the underside. My husband did not see it (though he was certainly aware that I did!), and we did not stop the car or cut off the engine; however, in retrospect, neither of us remember hearing any sound. I know it was not an ordinary airplane; and it seemed too low for a flight approaching the Greenville-Spartanburg airport.     Texas-Diamond Shaped Object
    11-01-I stepped out onto the front patio of my house, which faces directly SE, to enjoy my daily ritual of the morning coolness with my coffee and cigarette. The sky was quite clear, no clouds or fog, temperature about 45 degrees centigrade, with a very light breeze from the South. The Milky Way was clearly visible. I was looking up towards the East at Venus, which is quite bright this time of year, when I noticed a very bright object appear from behind and just above the tree line across the street from my home. When it first appeared, it's angle was about 30 degrees above the horizon and due SE.

    The object was unusually bright; I estimate it to be about twice the brightness of the planet Venus at the time. When I first saw it, it was about 20 degrees to the right of Venus. It was moving slowly (roughly 2-3 degrees of arc per second) and I initially thought that it was an airplane. There was no sound. I observed this object for another 10-15 seconds as it moved higher above the horizon, moving NW and eventually above my head. I began to notice that the object was not only getting much brighter, but it had no visible clearance lights of any kind. I also noticed that it began to have a visible shape to it.

    It was irregular in appearance, roughly diamond-shaped, but it was still way too small to make out any details. I then thought that maybe I was looking at a satellite or maybe the International Space Station, but I also realized that such objects don't move from East to West. This got my curiosity up. I ran inside my house to grab my binoculars, a Vivatar 7x50 (297ft @ 100yards). At this moment, the object was directly overhead. Knowing this, I ran to the back of my house to the back porch that faced NW.

    At this point, the object had just become visible overhead. I quickly adjusted the focus on my binoculars. What I saw through the eyepieces was a solid potato-shaped object, slightly irregular in appearance, approximately the size of a grain of rice held at arm's length. No details could be seen. No lights of any kind. No visible contrail, glow, or halo. It did not appear to rotate or have any other kind of movement along any axis. It was bright white in color. After observing this object for about another 10 seconds, I noticed that the object began to quickly change color from bright white to grey and then to a ruddy red. At this moment, the object was approximately 50-55 degrees above the horizon, directly NW.

    I deduced that the object was possibly passing through the penumbra and into the shadow of the Earth. It then suddenly went dark at about a 45 degree angle above the horizon. I checked my watch and the time was 5:41am CDT.

    Personal background: I'm a US Army-trained observer, familiar with almost all both civilian and military aircraft configurations and nighttime lighting. I have good knowledge of established civilian air traffic patterns in my area. I am also an amateur astronomer who owns an 6 inch Newtonian telescope which I use for personal enjoyment. I have way above-average knowledge of Astronomy.

    Based upon my personal observations of the object in question, along with it's angle and direction of travel, brightness in magnitude and variations in said magnitude as it passed overhead, and other characteristics, I have ruled-out any civilian or military aircraft, or possibly most any low-earth orbit satellites. The object could possibly have been a stratospheric-level weather balloon, but the wind directions on the ground and higher elevations at the time rules this out (I checked the NOAA reports before I posted this). source: www.mufon.com

    Canada-Two Reddish Orbs
    11-02-It was around 9 PM Eastern Time Canada. I was outside with my room mate taking a smoke. It was chilly outside, around 2 degrees Celsius. So I wanted this smoking time to be as brief as possible. My room-mate and I started talking about a subject regarding the universe and all its mysteries. The conversation lasted about 15 minutes.

    I was just about to finish my cigarette when I looked up at the sky and saw two reddish orbs fly about less than 3000 feet across the sky perpendicular to us. At first I thought it was a falling star. But I noticed that It did not leave that typical trail of light. I am a pilot and I know about all flying vehicles. They all standardly hold a starboard green light and a Port red light, strobe lights, and rotating beacon. And at that altitude and thats speed, it would have made an incredible noise. But those objects where flying at about 1000 km and made absolutely NO SOUND.

    What I noticed really odd is that they where criss crossing and rotating around each other. Like if playing with each other. This part is the hardest to describe but I hope the reader understand what I mean by this. The flight pattern and the way they where flying was not rectilinear. The flight patterns of those UFOs where constantly moving either in front, back, rotating around each other. They acted as two birds who fell in love. The most impressive part is that they did not make any sound. There where no clouds around. So it could not be a form of projector or light at any kind.

    I grabbed my room mate by the arm as strong as I could, started to yell at him, told him to look up because there was an incredible event happening. He did not see anything. My adrenaline went up because I knew what I had witnessed. At that instant I wanted to call the authorities and the news broadcasting company to tell them what I had seen. I ended up not doing that.
