Description: I’m sending you this picture I took in Grimsby UK, overlooking the dockside. My intention was to get a decent picture of the Lincoln Castle boat you can clearly see. It was an overcast day and I wasn’t too impressed with the dullness of the pictures I took that day. I remember having to take it through a steel mesh fence.

I just took one from this angle and didn’t bother unloading to my computer for a week or so after the event, but even before I did, I noticed something in the viewfinder that shouldn’t be there.

The object looks like the hubcap type videotaped in Mexico! The digital camera is a Photosmart E427 and it was set at 2 Megapixel, auto focus.

I have the photos on PowerPoint without adding anything. I have no idea what the object is in the sky. I’m hoping you can offer me an explanation for what it could be.

What started out looking very insignificant has overtaken my curiosity... I've been wanting to define the object I caught on camera, so along with the original image (blown up picture-in-picture) I have remastered the image through various filters and added pixels to clarify what the image might represent... I'm still none the wiser. I guess the closest thing this could be is a metallic coated helium balloon, but I have niggling doubts. I did a check to find out if there were any blimps in the air that day... the answer was negative.
