March 1993: Electrical power in Watauga and surrounding counties dimmed. This was about 6:45 a.m. Carl was getting the boys ready for school (Justin and Ryan were both 6 years. Ryan was our foster son for nearly two years). Suddenly the TV blasted on. The volume increased and the channels moved and remained at 777.
I called the police. The dispatcher said, "Frankly, I am a little scared! No one here knows what's going on. We have had a lot of calls. Perhaps BREMCO could help." (pun has to be put in... perhaps BREMCO could shed some light on the matter!) Anyway, I called BREMCO. The first person answering the phone said they didn't know what was going on yet. They had no answer. Because it was a whole county-wide event, which is not possible for all the systems to act the same way. I told her about the TV and could she put me in touch with a technician. I spoke to a technician and he could not answer my questions, so he put me in touch with his supervisor. He had no answers for me either. They were as puzzled as everyone else, not only for the TV’s activity but for the rhythmical dimming of the lights all over the county. He asked me if I wanted to report it as a "UFO" related event. Of course, I said, "Sure." He asked if he could use my name. Of course, I agreed. Lori Cordini Boone, NC 828-262-5857 September 12, 1995 at out 1:00 a.m. I was up watching the stars. An airplane with normal flashing lights and sounds traveled across the sky. Suddenly, "one of the stars" zipped across the sky (bright as Venus) and as it caught up to the plane (this is in the southwest sky), it right angled and zipped north, over the house and out of vision. Lori Cordini Boone, NC 828-262-5857 2:56 a.m. on July 25, 1995 The sound awoke me. It was like a slipped fan belt on a car, but loud and piercing, too loud for a car's fan belt. It lasted about 5 minutes. Started outside my bedroom window (like it was either overhead or on a road a few blocks from the house). It was very loud and over the next five minutes softened as it gave the sense of "going away." The dogs in the neighborhood barked and as the sound went away the dogs in the area where it progressed barked. I rushed to the front of the house (north side) where the noise was loudest, but there are too many trees so I couldn't see the sky. There was no motor sound. I rushed to the deck on the south side of the house but the neighbors new security light blocked out the sky. After the sound faded away, my ears were ringing for about 10-15 seconds. Lori Cordini Boone, NC 828-262-5857 May 13, 2008: 11:45 p.m. Intergalactic Contact Center received telephone call reporting sighting by 3 witnesses. Caller, a recent ASU (Appalachian State University) graduate, was on cell phone at local restaurant, Mellow Mushroom. He said they had just come out of the restaurant and he was looking North towards Howard’s Knob (mountain) when they spotted a bright object about the size of a dime streaming across the sky leaving a bright “tail.” The occurrence lasted only a few seconds from initial viewing and disappeared. Witness reported same observation several times, indicating they gave consideration to seeing an airplane or helicopter, but nothing fit. Lori Cordini Boone, NC 828-262-5857
