Naviation Aviation Veteran Comments on USS John F. Kennedy Incident
USS John F. Kennedy
This is in regards to the UFO sighting in 1971 on the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy. I am a veteran of naval aviation. I was an AQB3. (aviation fire control radar bombing technician third class petty officer).

Being that, I was in an electronic warfare squadron, I also worked in aviation communications systems, aviation radio navigation systems, electronic warfare systems, etc. This was in Electronic Warfare Squadron 135 Det 4.

We flew across the country from Alameda, California to Norfolk, West Virginia, and loaded our gear aboard ship. This was September 30. Ship left port October 1.

Within a week's time, myself and 2 or 3 others in my shop happened to pass by a man that was on the Kennedy when the UFO experience happened. He told us about it.

Having seen UFOs or what I believe to be alien craft, I thought his story may have been true. I have read about it in a few places on the Internet. Roadkill Cafe comes to mind as one. Plus there were others. The story never changes.

I have seen several other UFOs since. Some daytime, some night time. If you don't ever look for them, you won't ever see one, unless you are very lucky.

Also, I read about a UFO over a nuclear storage area on an Air Force base in Oscoda, Michigan, in October, 1975. F-4 Phantoms were scrambled from Selfridge Field. The UFO was explained away as a helicopter. No mention was made as to why a helicopter could out run mach 2 fighter jets.

Anyway, I had the great fortune of being an officer in the VFW. I was Senior Vice Commander of my post. At a dinner one day, the commander told me we had an Air Force Colonel in attendance.

Being I was a veteran of naval aviation, I introduced myself to him. I was glad to hear he was a post member.

I found out he was a base commander at Oscoda. I asked him when. He replied "1975." I asked him if he was there in October of that year. He replied "Yes." I asked more specific questions. He knew darn well where I was going. He told me he was going to keep his mouth shut.
