The photo of the anomoly in the sky above the trees was taken in the early afternoon and was not present in the picture while I was taking it. At first I thought it was a bird, and I am pretty careful NOT to take pictures with birds in them. Upon closer examination, I was suprised to see the shape and the pink hue. I don't have photoshop so I am not able to put them together in the same photo, sorry.

The evening shot was taken at 9:00 PM, or so. I was out walking the dog and decided to take some more photos. I was quite suprised to find the red sphere. It was not visible to the naked eye. I was simply taking a reference shot of the moon (bigger white spot), and there it was! Both sightings were located on either side of the ridge that I live on.

Camera used is a Fujifilm FinePix S700, set on the auto setting. No zoom used.
