I have attached a video which was taken last night 8th April, 2009, at United Kingdom, Birmingham. Time 22:29:48 -
Weather: beautiful, very clear - Samsung camera: VIDEO has not been edited - Best Viewed on Full Screen.
Throughout December, January, February, and March, a bright light which pulsates and changes color, has been in our skies over the UK. It appears to look like a star, but much bigger, and acts erraticly and very strange.
It does strange things, like changes from gold to green to red, and the strangest thing it does is to reverse backwards which is very noticeable to the naked eye. It spins around erratically.
We had a beautiful day and it was very warm and it was a very clear night
with a lovely clear full moon. I started to video it last night because before I started filming it, there was a red strip light beaming from under it.
At times, if I use my flash, it goes bigger and brighter, and appears to flash back. It appears after it gets quite dark and starts to reverse backwards at approximately 10.30.
When I was taking this video it started to go backwards and half an hour after, it was almost across the other side of the sky, but remained lit up brightly. But before this, it was there for a good 3 hours or more.
Another strange thing it does, for example when it is cloudy in one half of the sky but clear over the other, it will appear on the clear side. It has also done this when clear the one night I didn't see it over my back garden, but on a walk to the shops 5 minutes away it was there.
I don't know what this thing is. My husband said it is strange for stars to move, although he has never seen a star so big. Neither have I. We've gone through that it might be satellite? Why would a satellite come down so low and why would it stay for a few hours in the same place then back away?
As you can see, it definitely is not a plane or helicopter. Have you any idea what this thing could be? We have never in our lives noticed anything like this. I pause the video on play back, and it shows a shape like a disc with a big light
and 2 smaller lights. It is better to view on full screen.
Please let me know what you think it could be.
Thanks,
Sharon, United Kingdom Birmingham
