In this picture it looks as if the picture is just a staging area for an
aircraft. I have never seen this type of set up on a run-way and I am
currently enlisted in the military and work on aircraft and access the
flight line daily.
When you look closer at the picture you can clearly see
that there is a shadow present, which means the area where the run-way cuts
off stops, the ground is raised beyond it.
Add to that the ground shadowing
which is in the shape of a rectangle directly beyond what I believe is the
opening to a hanger.
Underground Hanger #2
The fact that there is a shadow here just like in hanger #1, plus the ground
in the area has a different consistency than other parts of the same area.
This leads me to believe that it leads underground as well.
However, this could simply be from a blast barrier like you see at airports to keep jet exhaust
from exiting the flight line.
The exhaust burns on the concrete seems to
indicate that it is a blast barrier.
The ground is raised in that area, as
the shadows show to the right of the supposed hanger entrance.
So I believe
that it is possible that this could be an underground hanger as well.
Strange Guide Lines
Like I said before, I work on the flight line daily, and I have never seen
guide lines that go in a complete circle like these do. I am guessing since
this is the back of the workshop/hanger that aircraft could be brought back
here and therefore would have to turn around.
It just seems illogical for
them to do that if the aircraft wasn't under its own power.
Another note,
it would make more sense for the lines to be half circle instead of full
circle being as how if they back an aircraft from the hanger they would turn
it one direction not totally in a circle.
Turning the way that the guide
lines show would take up far more space than just pulling it straight out
and half turning it one direction every time.
When you look at the center
of the guide lines there looks to be a depression in the middle, I do not
have an answer or conclusion as to what that could be because it wouldn't
aid an aircraft when turning, it would most likely break landing gear. I
just thought that this was an interesting site and wanted to know what
others thought.
I am writing because these interested me and I see that Area 51 is a topic
on your site. I check your site everyday, and spend quite some time on it
per day. This is why I send this to you.
If you wish to post my questions
and pictures on the site to get a better explanation than you can give,
please do, for I wish to know what other people think.
