Angleton, Texas - 11-17-09

I live in Angleton, Texas, which is about 45 minutes south of Houston. At approximately 7:25 PM on 11/17/2009, I was opening my front door after coming in from dinner, and my wife, who was following me into the house, told me to come look at something in the sky.

I reluctantly went to see what I thought would be a bright star or satellite traveling across the sky, to seeing what appeared to me as a very large boomerang-shaped aircraft with five or six dull, reddish-white lights on the rear of the object.

The object was so dark that, had you not looked directly at it, you would have never seen it, as it was stealthy looking. It had no other colored lights, and no blinking lights. The craft was flying south at a steady rate, but I could hear no sound.

Due to the lack of distinguishable blinking lights, I thought this plane was violating FAA rules for lighting. I watched the object for about 30 to 45 seconds before it got far enough away that we could not see it. I first thought it could be a stealth bomber, but I thought due to the height it was at, I should have heard the engines.

After discussing the sighting with my wife, who saw it for 10 seconds longer than I, and also saw it fly over her, she said that the whole craft was triangular in shape. She only saw lights on the rear as I had.

I am a police officer and can only say that this was like nothing I have ever seen in the night skies. I am submitting this to you to see if there were any other reports about this craft.

I did call our local dispatch and asked them to call our local airport to see what this might be and discovered that the airport was closed at that hour. I'm in no way saying this was a like object to the California sighting, and not being an aircraft expert it is hard for me to tell how high or how fast this object was traveling, however this seems similar after reading the articles of some of the people.
