Kelowna BC, Canada - 12-25-09

On Christmas day we took a walk and my daughter snapped this picture with her new camera, we cannot figure out what the object could be.

It was around 3-3:30 PM Pacific time, we are two families who took a walk on Christmas day across the apple orchard to look at the valley and city below the bluffs that we live on, once we had put the Turkey in the oven. We live in Kelowna BC, Canada.

There were three cameras working, one a new Lumix DMC-FS4 was a gift to my daughter who is 12 (it's the camera she snapped the pic of the orb with) my camera, which I lent to the Mother of the other family, she was taking quite a few off the hip style pictures. It's a Nikon D70s and a third camera, an older Olympus film camera. (has not been processed yet).

The first thing we noticed about being outside was the number of trails that were etched in the very cloudy (12 to 15) winter blue sky that day. In fact there is one evident in the picture. None of us saw the Orb, I have looked at it and think that is a smaller object which is closer to us rather than a larger object further away, but thats just my opinion.

I also noticed that the spectral highlight in the lower right hand corner of the orb matches the sun's placement on the horizon, very low in the western sky just about to dip below Bear Mountain.

I have found two other pics that show something, maybe. I will let you decide if they are anything, I do not think they are flares though since the sun had dipped even lower by the time they were taken and they are both pointed East.
