Rhode Island - early 1970s
I am a Rhode Island residence with a story you might be interested in reading. It was a summer night in the early 70’s when I spotted something moving in the night sky.
I looked at my mother and asked her if she could see it and she said yes. Together we stood quietly at the door to the side entrance into our home, watching this thing
I quickly turned to her and asked her to shut the outside light off. I wanted to get a better look at this space ship. I also assumed if the lights were out, it wouldn't see us. Dumb I know!
Together we watched this huge, black triangle object move south very slowly over the trees and homes in front of us. I remember 3 distinctive things about this craft.
1. Two corners of the triangle had white lights. I don't remember if there was a third light, because the size of the craft took up so much sky I couldn't see the far side of it.
2. The craft was enormous, black, and appeared weightless and thin. I felt no pressure in the air. I don't know if I can explain myself well, but I will try. I stood there looking up thinking I should feel something, a breeze, or even heaviness in the air due to the size of this craft. I was able to get a rough idea of its shape and size by seeing where the night sky and the craft met. Believe me when I tell you there were no stars or night sky in the area that appeared black. NOTHING!
3. The one thing that stood out more than anything else was this “It made no noise!” Not a single sound, nothing. I made a point of listening. Not one sound, and yet this craft continued to move. I knew then that this thing was not from this world.
The movement of the craft made me feel like it was looking for something, slowly scanning the area. It was creepy and exciting at the same time. It wasn't a weather balloon or a plane. It was not manmade. I know what I saw and what I have told you is exactly what happened. I even looked at my watch before and afterwards and I hadn't lost any minutes.
I have looking for more information on this craft, and if there were any other sightings during the summer of the early 70’s in the New England area. Remember this thing went south, how far south I was hoping you could tell me. I would like to think there were more people who saw it besides me and my mom.
Thank you,
Kathy V.
