St. Louis County, MO, 10-30-09
Dear UFO Casebook, on the afternoon of Friday, October 30, I picked up my father-in-law to give him a ride to the bank. I dropped him off at the front door, and parked to wait for him. It was a nice day; partly sunny with light cloud coverage, appx. 4:35 PM.
While I waited, I rolled down the window to enjoy the weather and was looking up into the sky. This was in South St. Louis County, near the Mississippi River. From behind me an object came flying over that I couldn't identify as anything I had ever seen.
It was black, bigger than an airliner, flying relatively low (under the clouds), and very slow. Its shape was a small triangle in front and a very large triangle in back connected by a straight rod (see attached drawing). The front triangle was actually a little larger than pictured, and made no noise.
It was headed south / southwest and going so slow, and was so big that I could see it for a good 5 minutes. I don't know what this was, but it was NOT a plane!
I just kept watching until it was out of sight. I told my fiance about it a couple of days later and he went to your site to see if anyone else had reported anything. He freaked out when he saw the sighting of triangular lights over St. Louis on the 24th, because I had drawn him a picture of what I saw.
If it was nighttime and all you saw were the lights; this may look like one giant triangle instead of 2 connected by a rod. Just wondering if anything this shape has ever crossed your desk before?
Thanks,
E. Jaggie
