Sometime after 10 PM last night, I spotted a object traveling east to west over the river. At first I thought it was a helicopter.

But it had no sound coming from it, not an engine or a jet and no sound from rotor blades. Under it, it had two sets of triangular bright red lights, three lights in each set, one set in the front and the other in the back.

Also it had white lights on the right side of it. It was moving slowly, maybe 20 mph or less, , and the height was about 200 feet or so and it was about 600 feet to my left.

As it traveled down the river, it looked like it was following the bends of the river until it faded out of sight. Total time of the sighting was about 2 minutes.

Again no planes or helicopters fly up or down the river. They fly the banks and cross the river, but never directly over it.

I'm a pilot, and I was watching departing traffic overhead at MEM, and noticed at approximately 290 degrees, a diamond-shaped object with dull, white lights traveling at approximately Mach 1- 1.5 totally SILENT!

As mentioned above, I was watching departing traffic from MEM looking North in the city of Cordova, when I noticed a triangular- shaped object traveling from East to West at approximately Mach 1- 1.5 (I have been a commercial pilot since 2001).

The object had dull white lights that did not blink, had NO STROBES, and was COMPLETELY SILENT! I passed below some departing traffic, and in relation to the CRJ-200 that I was watching, it was the size of roughly a football field.

I do not drink, or use drugs... have studied aircraft since the age of 4.... have never seen anything like this... it left me numb.
