Here are reports of UFO sightings in Darwin’s rural area.

1st Sighting by Pat; Her first sighting was Wednesday morrning, 5/8/09 around 3 am. She was sitting under her front verandah having a early morning cigarette and saw what looked to be a bright star but bigger.

After awhile she realized that it was no star as its size was much bigger and this object had like a vapor or some type of smoke coming out of it that was clear around the underside of the object.

It also had long arms hanging down under it which gives you the impression of a jellyfish-shaped object, round at the top and long tentacles hanging down underneath. She watched the object for half an hour which just stayed in the one position, just hovering at a height of around 10,000-20,000 feet, same as incoming aircraft as they start descending.

There was no noise to be heard at all like usual UFO sightings. She does not have a camera. After a half hour she went to bed wondering what in the hell she had just seen. She tossed and turned and couldn’t sleep due to the anxiousness and thoughts of what she had just seen. Pat told friends that next morning as it was continually on her mind.

2nd Sighting; Her second sighting was this Thursday morning at 1am. After getting up for the usual cigarette fix she was looking in the general direction she usually does and near the same area another UFO was there just hovering. It was a bright, white circle in colour with red around the bottom half of it.

After seeing the other UFO, she was convinced that something is out there and continued to watch this craft move to the left very slowly, then to the right very slowly, making no noise at all. It was at the same height as the other UFO looking at 10,000-20,000 feet estimate.

At this time the other occupant of the house was doing a dunny run as well and she said to him to get out here and look at what I am seeing. He did this time and was quite amazed to see that there was a large star-like object just hovering in the sky.

He looked for 5 minutes then went back to bed so she still stayed up a little while longer as the fascination crept in. When looking at the object for awhile both witnesses agree that the object had like an aura around it, which is also very common.

After an hour she became tired and went back inside to bed. While the second sighting was happening all the dogs in the area were barking and this is not the case usually, they said - another thing that happens around UFO sightings.

After the second sighting she told her friends about what she was seeing as it was worrying her, so then decided to contact the NT News to see if anybody else had viewed this object. Then the NT News passed her on to UFO researcher Alan Ferguson, who also runs UFOterritory website as that’s his role in researching and documenting UFO sightings.

After Alan went around to her place and interviewed her he was convinced there was something happening and asked her to go on his UFOWATCH radio show on Buzzfm to tell her story. But the next few nights were amazing as they came back for another visit and also Harold of Humpty Doo which is not far from Pat's place also got in contact with Alan to say he is seeing strange things in the sky.

He had seen 4 yellow/orange objects go across the sky in formation before merging into one then another appeared looking the same as Pat's reports - white looking star with red flickering lights which was coming towards him before stopping then disappearing.

Alan then decided after hearing of what’s going on to stay out looking for the flying objects for 2 nights before he came across the red flickering object himself. It looked misty in its appearance with red flickering lights around it just hovering about 5,000 feet above the ground. It was moving from side to side, then up and down, which looked spectacular.

Then when going to get his recording equipment it disappeared, which was a disappointment as it was well worth getting footage of this UFO. He will be out again looking for the next week as the activity is high.

There are also mass sightings down south at Wycliffe Well where workers and guests saw up to 10 separate craft in the night sky. Alan interviewed Julie Zanker who works there on his UFOWATCH show, and she says she couldn’t believe her eyes as the UFOs just hovered there as if to say, here I am.
