Great Britain - 05-21-10

It was the evening of the May 21, 2010, in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England. As it was a balmy warm evening, we had a BBQ and stayed outside in the garden.

Around 10:30 PM, the missus went to bed as she had work in the morning while I stayed out to ‘look at the stars’. The sky was clear and lit by a half moon.

At approximately 11:15, I noticed an extremely bright light due west of Stroud. I ran inside and told the missus to look out of the bedroom window which she did, and commented on the bright light as 'being strange.'

I went back out for a closer look. As the object approached, I could see that the single bright light was actually 2 (like car headlights).

To my utter amazement, the object passed overhead and it was a large black triangle/delta wing shape. It was flying slow and low (1000 ft or so) and was easily the size of a jumbo jet, if not bigger.

I could clearly see the underside of the ‘vehicle’ from an oblique angle, which was entirely black save for a large glowing circular light in the center with 4 adjacent, smaller lights surrounding it.

The large central light appeared to be like a ‘protruding blister,’ but was not entirely glowing but made up of many alternating bright and dark strips or bands.

There were also red and green lights on the rear corners of the vehicle, with a row of small lights along the rear. I watched the object travel due east until it disappeared over the horizon.

There was some associated noise like a jet engine but it was more like ‘humming’. I took photos with my phone, but they don't show anything apart from black! Nothing like what I saw, which totally gob smacked me.

I did sketch the object straight after the sighting though. As it was a warm Friday night, there must have been other people who saw the ‘vehicle.’

I heard neighbors up the street arguing about what they saw. I sky watch quite a bit, and have never seen anything like it.
