AFTER reports of mysterious orange lights in the sky above Carlisle, a walker came forward to report and produce photographs of his very own strange sighting.
Derek Brown was walking with a party of 12 others along Hadrian’s Wall close to the Roman fort of Vindolanda at 3pm on July 29 when an eagle-eyed friend pointed out the strange, disc-shaped object flying some distance away.
“[They] pointed out the unusual shape and zoomed in as much as possible with the camera,” said Derek, a self-confessed ‘non-believer’ in UFOs.
“Looking at all the other photos taken over the three days, there is nothing there that you could compare to planes or birds.”
His ‘encounter’ comes after 65-year-old Peter Brockbank said he saw orange lights in the night sky above Carlisle three times earlier this month.
He spotted one of the glowing lights he describes as “inverted light bulbs” at about 10pm, and they returned the same time the next day and a few days later.
