New York - 12-15-10
My fiancee (Name deleted) and I were driving to a concert in downtown Rochester, NY. We decided to meet up with her
brother at the RIT campus so he could drive us from there.
He knew how to reach downtown without having to go onto any highways so he took us on side streets to reach Water Street Music Hall. (Name deleted) was driving his car, (Name deleted) was in the passenger seat, and I was behind her in the back.
While heading down Scottsville Rd, near an 84 Lumber, (Name deleted) noticed something off to the left of the car. She asked, "What is that?"
To which I replied, "Oh, it's just one of those altitude warning lights. You know, to warn any planes nearby that they shouldn't fly that low in that area."
Right after finishing that sentence (Name deleted) said, "Hmm?, no. It's now moving."
The once stationary object, which had two big white circular lights, multiple blinking white lights, and a red light, that made me initially think it was a warning light of some sort, was now rising from its spot that was 50 ft (approximately) in the air.
As soon as (Name deleted) made me realize that the object was actually moving it made me focus much more. It was then that I
realized that there was no structure underneath it to be holding it up, and then I began to pick out the shape of it.
The best way that I can describe it is if you were to press down on top of a ball and make it look slightly oblong.
The color of it was so dark that it almost perfectly blended in with the night sky.
It took (Name deleted), who was driving, a few seconds to realize that the same light that he saw was the object that we were noticing and yelling about.
He almost immediately pulled his car into a parking lot and stopped so we could watch this object. The trajectory that the object took off in could be best
described as this: if you were to hold a boomerang in your hand so that the part you were grasping was vertical.
After lifting slightly,it then smoothly made the near 45 degree transition and took off into the night sky. This all happened within about 30 seconds and the object moved so far out of our sight that the two big white lights blended into one and we lost visual contact with it.
It was after not being able to see it anymore that we realized that we heard no sounds what-so-ever throughout the entire time that we had visual contact with it.
The only feelings we had afterward was excitement and amazement. We truly couldn't believe that we experienced what just happened.
Two of us instantly called our mothers and told them the story. I proceeded to text numerous friends that are interested in the paranormal, about my experience.
The attached picture is the best way that I could visually describe it. My fiancee has not seen this picture that I drew yet. I am planning to have her draw her
own sketch, without seeing mine, and comparing the two together.
