Cluster of Orange, Unknown Objects over Ohio
Depiction
Published: 10:08 AM 7/18/2010

Ohio - 07-17-10

Greetings,

I send this mail because I don't feel I have any other place to report this and have it retained for the records, so I mailed you.

Driving home tonight, July 17, 2010, at approximately 9:50 PM along Highway 127N into New Miami, OH, I witnessed what appeared at first to be an object or meteor crashing through the sky.

The object was bright orange/red and had a tail. The object split into three parts and disappeared.

I thought at this point it was still some sort of debris from space burning in the atmosphere.

It was not seconds after that many more of the bright, orange objects reappeared, this time without tails. There were at least 4-5 of them.

I then noticed at the time three police helicopters in the area.

The bright, orange objects were no longer moving in downward motion in the sky, they were moving in straight lines and at angles. They were in no way free floating.

The cluster moved quickly to the north-northeast toward the Middletown/Dayton area before I lost track of seeing them.

I was attempting to continue driving into that area to continue witnessing the objects but they were all out of my sight, except the remaining police helicopter.

I called Butler County Dispatch once I got home to see what people had reported.

They were quick to dismiss the objects as some sort of "balloon festival" that was happening in Smith Park.

I'm sorry, but balloons don't fly at angles to each other... plus I don't think police helicopters would need to be in the area for "balloons."

I'd like to remain anonymous, but I figured I'd let SOMEONE know about this. I've been spazzing at my family and friends, and I'm being treated like a loon.

Thanks,
