Vancouver Island, Canada - c.2000

I am from Vancouver Island, Canada, and was in the city of Port Alberni at the time of the sighting.

I had finished a soccer game on a Sunday about ten years ago, and went to meet my friend at his house. He wasn't home yet so I went out to his back balcony which looks over the canal that runs beside Port Alberni, the inlet it is called.

It was a beautiful day at about noon, blue skies with a few clouds. As I was looking out across the canal at the mountains, I noticed what I thought were birds over the canal, but then the objects came in front of the glacier mountain and I could see that they weren't birds.

I would have to say there were anywhere from 15 to 20 objects.

It has to be a few kilometers across the canal, I've drawn some boats in the canal to give you an idea of how far it is across. I thought they might be planes, but I didn't hear anything, and they just didn't look like planes, basically just black and circular looking.

Planes would have made a sound, plus I've never seen that many planes together and I've seen the Canadian Snowbirds a number of times, and other jet fighters and even then you hear them in the distance.

Port Alberni is in a valley so you would think I would have heard something - but nothing. Anyway I felt like I should let you know, maybe someone else has seen something similar.
