I work for a very well known hamburger chain and work the early hours, I start at 4 AM. I drove to Goleta and arrived at 4 AM at one of the many stores we have, and went straight to the roof to do a routine inspection and towards the east I noticed a small plane flying southeast towards the ocean.

I thought to myself, "That was neat, a early morning flyer and directly above me."

I glanced at another light and thought, hey another plane, and turned around to get off the roof and stopped and looked up again because the light caught and struck me as different from the plane lights.

As I looked harder, I noticed the lights were not blinking and this one light was doing a weird, undulating flicker, not the common blinking.

I looked at the plane to compare, and they were completely different and not even close to anything I had seen before. The plane was still in sight and I don't know if the pilot saw what I was looking at, but it was not a normal light or any other thing that I had seen before.

I kept my eye on it and it was hovering in the same spot for about 1 minute, and then it started to go straight up and get smaller and smaller while still doing its undulating movement and as it got smaller from going up, I then realized that it was directly under 3 solid lights that were not flickering or blinking and they formed a triangle.

The other light got to a point where it looked like it disappeared into the middle of this triangle of lights. It was clear and dark - no light above me not a heavily lighted area.

I kept watching and I could make out the outline of this craft - it blocked out the stars that were in the dark, morning sky and I could see an outline of a triangle with lights at each tip.

I was stunned but not scared, then after about a minute it started to rise straight up slowly and it stated to get smaller as it rose straight up into space till it vanished into to the dark of space.

I tried to make sense of what I saw - it was not a plane or helicopter, there was no noise, it was completely silent.

At the time I did not think about it, but when the light rose to the other craft it must have been well into the stratosphere and from the size I was looking at, it must have been about 2 maybe 3 inches big, so for it to be that big at that height it must have been big as a football field.

I’m no expert, but I do know that it must have been huge judging from the distance and size; if it was a plane it would have been the size of a speck.

I have gazed at the sky for years and know the difference from a plane or meteor and this was none of them. After this event I got off the roof and saw the cleanup crew working and I said nothing because I don’t want to be labeled a whack job.

I ended my day and got home and drew out what I saw and told only my wife, and she promptly called my crazy, and said and it was probably a new type of secret government test craft.

I did not believe in them until this day, now I can’t go a day without thinking about it and I’ve been reading and researching everything I can get on flying triangles, and my thought is “it was not from this earth”!
