NASA Teases with This 'Flying Saucer' Photo Cool & Strange NASA Photo: While I was browsing NASA’s photos at flickr, I did a double take when I spotted this picture of what appears to be a flying saucer:

Photo Title: Flying Saucer? Aliens?

Is this proof that NASA has actually been playing us for suckers and been secretly studying and reverse engineering flying saucers?

Sadly no, it's not a flying saucer. This is actually “the domed top to a 70 foot long vacuum tank at the Lewis Research Center's Electric Propulsion Laboratory, Cleveland, Ohio.

The three technicians shown here in protective clothing had just emerged from within the tank where they had been cleaning in the toxic mercury atmosphere, left after ion engine testing in the tank.

Lewis has since been renamed the John H. Glenn Research Center.”

Apparently, NASA has a bit of a sense of humour.
