Motorist Reports Low-flying Triangle over Knoxville, TN
UFO Depiction
Published: 3:28 PM 3/7/2012

Knoxville, Tennessee - 03-07-12

As I was sitting in my car after pumping gas at Shell station less than a mile from my home, I noticed a bright white, fixed light hovering just below the ridge line.

It was low enough that at 1st glance, I thought maybe it was just a light from a home or building on the ridge. I then noticed the light wasn’t fixed to part of any structure, & that it was moving very slowly towards my location.

I sat in my car at the gas pump to watch the light as it sort of drifted slowly & effortlessly closer to my position. It moved closer & closer very lazily, to reveal 2 flashing lights (slightly varying in color, sort of off-white & amber; [note] they were not apparent upon initially seeing the aircraft) on its right side.

I couldn’t make out a shape at that time, & I assumed that it was just a helicopter, as the altitude seemed too low for an airplane.

I rolled down my windows (from cracked to fully open) to see if I could hear any engine noise, there was absolutely no sound; the gas station wasn’t busy, so there was no obstruction in my ability to hear it if there was any sound.

As I said before, the craft was at very low altitude. As the craft flew (almost) directly overhead, its shape & characteristics became obvious; it was distinctively triangular, & the wing span was at least double the size of any airplane I’ve ever seen.

There was a singular bright fixed light on its nose, a bright amber light in the dead center, 2 flashing lights at the tip of each wing (or where the wings should’ve been).

The craft drifted listlessly, moving as if it were underwater, & as I was observing, it sort of banked slightly to reveal its underside, & effortlessly flew turned vertically w/a wing pointed towards the sky, & a wing pointed to the ground.

It maintained this maneuver for only a short period of time, however, it was able to perform it w/an ease that seemed highly unusual.

Each of these lights that formed this triangular shape was very vivid & not characteristic of any standard aircraft I’m familiar with. I felt the urge to get out of the car & alert it to the attention of the few people around outside, however, no one was paying any attention, nor did they seem like they’d be interested, & my shyness/fear of embarrassment wouldn’t allow me to speak up to point it out.

I noticed it was flying towards an area I was familiar with, so I decided to follow it. I lost sight of it as I was making a U-turn in the parking lot to head in its direction, & as I tried to relocate the object, it had completely disappeared.

I don’t know if I just lost track of it, or what, but the direction it was moving, along w/the apparent speed & size, plus the fact it only took 20 seconds or so to turn around & pull out of the parking lot, I felt like I should’ve been able to relocate it w/ease, but it was nowhere to be found.

It was disappointing to lose track of it, however, it was exhilarating to be eyewitness to such a marvel of aeronautics, whether it be one of ours or from another world altogether.

The area my small town occupies seems to be a magnet for UFO activity, as I see strange lights/craft fairly often...
