Mebane, North Carolina - 06-07-12 - 11:50 PM. Between Vega and Rasalhague at .
From 11:50 PM till 12:01 AM, sitting still; appeared as a fuzzy, circular gray cloud.
I had been on the deck smoking and hadn't noticed it the first few minutes. I had been looking up at the sky.
The sky was cloudless all the way home from work at 9:15 pm.
when I first noticed the fuzzy spot; size of a dime at arm's length. It stood out against the dark sky,
then I noticed it wasn't moving by watching in in relation to Vega!
I called to my wife inside the house. It took her at least 20 seconds before she heard the urgency in my voice. it took her awhile to see that it wasn’t moving.
It sat between Vega and Rasalhague, not moving against the stars for about one to two minutes. She then went in the house to get the camera. I knew it was way too faint to get a picture.
As she left it slowly started moving south and fading out at the same time.
It was east-northeast at about 80 degrees elevation, and seemed to be at least 8 to 10k feet, but who knows.
It moved toward Rasalhague, and slowly faded to black sky by the time she got back. It looked like solid gray fog
No clouds were visible at the time. It definitely gave me an eerie feeling.
