1948 - Area covered Kentucky to Dayton, Ohio and in Hamilton as well. If they were five miles or so apart, that would have been 20 to 25 craft.
Maybe I have to tell you the story behind what I sent you yesterday. The thing must have started before six PM on Friday or Saturday night, as I'm not sure of the date, I'm sure of what happened next.
My Mother was cleaning up after supper, my Father was reading the paper, and I was sitting in front of the radio.
At six PM came
the world news, then the local Cincinnati news, then a bit about someone's product and dead space for about
When the person came back on he said "If you would like to see an unusual display of Northern Lights step out
side and have a look." I ask my Mother if I could go look and she said yes, but put your jacket on; it's cold out side.
Now this is what I did and what I saw that night. The front door faced north and as I stepped out I saw that
the street lights were on. I went down the steps, turned to the east, and the first thing I saw was a pyramid of light over
a very large field that was lit up like they are today.
One thing was that the grass looked greener then normal,
had to be the frequency of the light. If you go to Google Earth and input ( 1741 Kahn Avenue Hamilton,Ohio)
you can see the house and the field, the field now has a new school in it.
The next thing I saw was a search light about 12" in diameter on what must have been my end of a long craft, this light was unlike anything I ever saw.
I have to call it a tube light because where the light would stop the end of the light was there, they must have been having problems with it because it looked as if someone would hit it and it would jump out and after a few seconds it would come back to the source. This happened three or four times.
Then someone fixed it and it went down the back of the houses north of me on Kahn and Parish Avenues. It was very bright and very white, anything in front of it was black.
This craft was about 3500 to 4000 feet up and about 2 to 300 feet to the east of me. I could not see the craft;
only the searchlight on it, no sound at all.
Now in the sky to the north and east of me were a total of four more craft in all. I could see where the lights were. By this time, I had been looking at this display for about five minutes.
When I heard voices, they were saying this was the end of the earth. Now at 1771 Kahn Avenue was a church
and about 6 or 8 kids that ended up looking in the window at them, after a short time we all went home.
I don't have the date, but the weather that night was cool; 45-50, some clouds, no wind, street lights were on at 6:30. There were some lights in the sky to the west at that time.
On the Monday after, the weather was overcast, and you could see the sun behind the clouds. When we got home from school on Monday, the newspaper was on the porch, and this is what I can remember about it; first column, a picture, second column, this what it said; "the lights you saw in the sky over the weekend were tests from Wright Field and Ft.Knox."
There was more, but this is what stuck in my head.
I have been told that this same type of thing happened to the west and east of me. This UFO story needs to be told now just to show how dumb we were then.
I'm 81, have COPD, and not sure about my time here, so if you would like other info I have call me.
P.S.June 25, 1948, was the date of the UFO in Hamilton, Ohio. June 25 or 26 jn the Cincinnati paper you should find a UFO report.
