FREMONT The unidentified flying object residents reported seeing on Stone and Napoleon streets this week was not piloted by aliens, police said.

The UFO was a remote-controlled helicopter a resident had been flying at night this week, said Capt. Jim White of the Fremont Police Department.

Office Lester Daniels investigated the UFO reports and tracked them to the helicopter, which has red and green pulsating lights, White said.

Police took pictures of the device and showed it to the man who reported the UFO sightings, White said. The man confirmed it was the object he had seen in the sky.

The first UFO sighting was reported at 12:33 a.m. Sunday, when the caller said he saw the objected moving up and down near a radio tower in the 600 block of Stone Street.

Another sighting was reported at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of Napoleon Street.
