Safety Bay, Australia - 02-20-13
A flash thunderstorm came through on a warm night. It was unexpected. The rain became heavy and I went outside to stand in the rain (being 32 degrees Celsius at 8 pm at night).
The rain eased but there was still a lot of lightning in the area. I looked to the south and saw red (and few white) lights flashing in a very random order.
However, as random as they were, they never deviated from a disk orientation. At first (as crazy as this is), I thought they must have been Christmas lights on someone's roof antenna.
But then I thought: who the hell would do that, and I've never seen them before (as I frequent my backyard at night).
As I slowly began to realize that what I was witnessing was a UFO, I grabbed my iPhone camera and started filming.
It caught nothing, as by that time the lights were few and far between and (I guess) so far away the camera couldn't pick them up. The lights slowly just disappeared one by one, until there were none at all.
I drove to the beach (2 minutes away) to see if they'd reappear, but they didn't. I have no explanation as to what those lights were.
They definitely were not planes or helicopters. I know that for a fact. Nor were they flares (being a boatie).
It all happened in the Rockingham / Safety Bay area during a flash storm.
