NPAS is now withholding information...
By Jon Austin
POLICE who filmed a “UFO” flying over the Bristol Channel are now trying to cover it up, it has sensationally been claimed.
A former detective is now calling for a scientific inquiry into what footage caught by the police helicopter last September actually shows.
A mysterious black object was caught on the National Police Air Service (NPAS) camera in the helicopter.
Former detective Gary Heseltine, now editor of UFO Truth magazine, claims NPAS is now withholding information about the mysterious UFO.
NPAS footage shows the the object filmed for seven minutes.
Nothing was seen by air traffic control at the time of the UFO.
Detracting from claims of a cover up, the police agency initially posted a short clip on Twitter.
It showed the black, round object moving across the sky at a height of around 1,000ft.
The object was filmed at night with an infrared camera on board a police helicopter.
But, Mr Heseltine, a retired detective constable from the British Transport Police, says NPAS has since not been open about the incident.
The UFO perplexed police officers in a helicopter over the Bristol Channel.
He said: “I believe they are hiding something from the public.”
He submitted Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to find out more, but says responses so far have not been forthcoming.
He said: “I’ve waited until now to see how much information I could obtain from the police via the FoI requests I’ve submitted.
“What I can say is that in my opinion the police have not been as open and transparent as they could have been.
“I believe this British case is a major UFO event and should be the subject of a scientific enquiry.”
But, even NPAS has admitted online it does not know what it filmed.
Responding to claims on Twitter, it could be a balloon or a lantern, it said it appeared too hot on the infra red and was traveling into the wind rather than being carried by it.
NPAS also said it was hard to estimate the size of the object.
