The fantastic claims of one Dr. Jonathan Reed seem to have come under heavy fire as of late. Reed, as many of you may know, claimed to be a Seattle psychologist, who, in October 1996 took his golden retriever Suzy with him on a hike to one of the Cascade Mountains and found a strange alien creature and a hovering, black obelisk. Reed claims to have killed the alien, brought it back to his house and photographed it, only to eventually have it stolen.
On the day in question, Reed's dog was sniffing around in the brush until something caught her attention. Suzy bolted ahead of Reed who soon heard her barking. In a moment or two, the barking turned even more ominous sounding. Reed was sure that Suzy was in a fight with a wild animal, maybe a bear. They had spotted one earlier in the day.
Grabbing a large tree branch to ward off some fierce competitor, he finally came close enough to see the cause of the struggle. To his utter shock, he was staring at a being beyond his wildest imagination.
The beast was moving at lighting speed, and vibrating simultaneously. The beast grabbed Suzy and began to tear her to shreds. Reed yelled, and caught the attention of the beast, who stared at him in a fierce, menacing fashion. Somehow, Reed managed to crack the beast on the head, supposedly killing it. The creature was about 4-5 feet tall, but had more mature features than its childlike size would indicate. The creature was wearing a one piece, seamless, black garment, which rejuvenated itself when cut or torn.
Reed, exhausted from the emotional, adrenaline flowing ordeal, rested for a time, contemplating what to do. After a period of two hours, Reed heard a humming sound in the forest, and followed it until he saw a black obelisk hovering above the ground. Fighting off heavy, electrostatic laden air, Reed managed to touch the obelisk. Eventually, the humming stopped. He neither saw nor heard anyone...or anything else in the vicinity of the black obelisk.
The doctor was sick, and totally exhausted, but tried to regain his strength. Darkness was drawing near, so Reed wrapped up the alien in a thermo blanket for the long one and a half hour journey back to transportation. All the while, a thousand thoughts went through his head. Was what he had the discovery of the century? If so, how could he preserve and protect it? Arriving home, he placed the alien in a freezer in his garage. Soon he fell into a deep sleep.
The next day, he went back to the freezer, took out the alien, and all the while manipulating the alien body parts, video taped the creature. He tried to find some friends to share the experience, but managed only one. He tried to hide his photos and videos with another friend, but the bulk of the evidence was ultimately lost, except for some that he managed to stow away.
Reed claims that he and his friend were followed everywhere they went, their lives threatened, and Reed's house ransacked. The alien, which had miraculously come back to life, was gone. Reed says that he had to live underground for 2 years, and could not get even one UFO group to help him with his story. He also claims to have been shot during the years following the ordeal. He has spoken before several UFO groups, and written a book on his experience, "Link--An Extraterrestrial Odyssey,"
Just recently, his credibility has suffered greatly. Until Reed can substantiate his claims, he is considered a charlatan and flim flam man. Usually, when you hear a story that is too good to be true, it is. I have been asked many times why my website contains mostly older sightings, and abductions. This is exactly why. Shawn Atlanti, Founder and former Director of San Diego UFO Society, no longer supports or considers the "Alien in the Forest Encounter" or what is known as the Dr. Jonathan Reed story to be real. This story occurred in mid-October 1996 in the Cascade Mtns in Washington state. I became aware of this story on October 21st, 1996, a few weeks later on November 11th, Jonathan Reed and Robert Raith went on the Art Bell Show and told their story, they were both on two later shows in 1998, and I was on another show with them in December of 1999.
There were more allegations against Jonathan Reed that occurred on the Jeff Rense radio program on May 2nd, 2002, in which Royce Myers, Kathleen Anderson, Bill Werner and Denise Charvet appear.
Bill Werner and Denise Charvet knew Jonathan Reed very well before October 1996, Both stated that his real name is Jonathan Bradley Rutter and told about information about his personal history that is contrary to what Jonathan has been stated on radio shows, in public lectures, Websites, etc,
This information is available at the Website www.ufowatchdog.com, and may be heard in the archive section of the Jeff Rense radio program at www.Rense.com. This latest information, along with other related problems the last 3 and half years, combined with Jonathan Reed/Rutter unwillingness to have his supposed evidence (video, slides, pictures, etc,) tested at qualified laboratories or facilities and those results made public of the analysis in a printed form. Jonathan Reed/Rutter made a statement just about 3 and half years ago on the first Art Bell show that he would be open to do this. So, I FINALLY made the decision drop my support and belief in the Jonathan Reed story, now really known as Jonathan Bradley Rutter. Shawn Atlanti may reconsider the Jonathan Reed story if all of the following conditions are met:
An investigation of Jonathan Reed/Rutter in what would be termed Police/FBI styled investigation of the following areas.
1. Complete background check of his employment history, education, family, close friends, etc,
2. Proof of the dog known as Suzy in his story through Dog Licenses veterinarian records, etc.
3. The location/address of the house that Jonathan Reed/Rutter claimed he lived in at the time of this Encounter event, and proof that he rented it from the so-called Larry Arthur, now really known as Larry Sieber, and that Larry Sieber really owned it.
4. Full names of two other characters in his story, Dolly and Gary, so that they or their familles can be contacted and interviewed.
5. As stated before; A complete testing of the supposed evidence from his Encounter experience.(videos, slides, pictures, negatives, etc,). The results of that testing and analysis published in a written form from the laboratory or facility, and the address/phone number of that laboratory/facility, so one is able verify the results.
6. A forensic examination of the supposed gunshot wound in Jonathan Reed/Rutter shoulder by a qualified Doctor/Pathologist, and those results made public.
7. There are probably other areas that need investigation, but these are good for a start.
Many have been claiming the Jonathan Reed story to be a hoax/fraud, and I will now have to agree with them, unless Jonathan Reed/Rutter and his associates can prove the above conditions just listed. I probably should have came to this conclusion a long time ago, but either due own my proclivity to procrastinate, my fascination for conspiracy side of the UFO subject matter, or the gullible side of myself, I have waited this long to make this decision.
Hopefully, in the near future, Jonathan Reed/Rutter will be out of the UFO business and he can try something else, and we can bring a little more sanity to the UFO subject.

Recent allegations have come to light that Jonathan created a false identity. I have received communications this week from Jonathan admitting that he, indeed, created a false identity - Dr. Jonathan Reed. He asserts that he did so in an effort to protect family and friends from the ridicule and harassment associated with cases of this nature. He further asserts that, despite claims to the contrary, the encounter did, in fact, happen.

1994 Washington, D.C. - WWN has obtained absolute proof that our government has captured at least one space alien: A dramatic photograph of a living extraterrestrial!
The eerie black-and-white image was snapped by a U.S. Marine after he and 12 others stormed a disabled alien starship. It was provided to this paper by an unidentified CIA agent with access to top secret U.S. Navy files.
"The spaceship landed on the deck of the U.S.S. Nimitz in August 1991, and its extraterrestrial crew was taken in to explained the high-ranking sergeant, who personally interviewed four aliens in a secret Maryland compound in 1993," Since then, at least two of the aliens are rumored to have died in captivity.
"An official photo of the aliens has never been seen by the public because our government won't even admit that the extraterrestrials exist. Yet they've kept these poor beings in an underground site, heavily guarded and totally isolated. It's a terrible injustice. They should be freed."
The 48-year-old sergeant, who has tried for several years to force the government to free their captives, contends that the 4-foot-tall creatures are harmless. He says they landed on the Nimitz because their ship was having mechanical problems and did not resist when Navy personnel seized their craft.
In 1994, the source provided a classified government sketch of the extraterrestrials to the NEWS and this paper published the drawing in its April 5 issue. The article resulted in a special White House investigation into the aliens' situation, but ultimately the plans to release the alien captives were dropped.
Last month, the agent contacted the NEWS again and delivered an actual photo of an alien taken when it was captured. The picture has been authenticated by outside experts who verify that the photo is genuine.
"The inside of the starship was pitch black, so the alien is illuminated only by the camera's flash," the agent explained. "It looks strange, but it is totally accurate. This is what these little guys look like. And it's absolute proof that we're holding messengers from another world."
The agent says his interviews with the aliens were friendly and convinced him that the intelligent creatures deserve sympathetic treatment. "They just want to go home," he said. "But the Navy has dismantled their spaceship in the name of science so there's no way to get them there. We have to figure out what we're going to do with our alien captives before they all die and someone from their world decides to take revenge on us."

On 3-13-89, the NASA Space Shuttle "Discovery" was launched at approximately 1000 hours. About 20 hours 35 minutes into the mission, an amateur radio buff in Ohio, USA picked up a "raw" transmission which indicated that there was some type of problem or anomaly that warranted the Discovery to issue this statement; "We have a fire."
Supposedly this was a type of code for Houston to switch to a different frequency, or a code for the sighting of a UFO. There was a NASA select channel which edited shuttle transmissions before they were heard by media requesting the information. Some radio operators were able to forego this filtering and pick up "raw," unedited data.
Subsequently, at precisely 0642 hours, EDT, the amazing message, "HOUSTON, THIS IS DISCOVERY, WE STILL HAVE THE ALIEN SPACECRAFT UNDER OBSERVANCE," was heard.
A text transcription of the transmission:
WA3NAN: We are retransmitting the Space Shuttle air/ground communication.
"This is WA3NAN."

In Baltimore, Maryland, Donald Ratsch, a member of the Goddard Amateur Radio Club, recorded the transmission on his Radio Shack radio. The Goddard Club monitored the NASA communications, and subsequent investigation proved that hams were receiving "raw" transmissions.The "official" transmission, which first was filtered through Houston, does not, of course, include this statement. There is a blank space instead. There was also an allegation that immediately after the transmission, NASA instructed the crew to switch to a secure mode.
The tape, about 38 seconds long, was soon in the hands of the media, and first broadcast on LBC (London Broadcasting Company) The female voice on the tape is a news broadcaster from the LBC, and the tape as you hear it, repeats the actual transmission several times. The statement was only made once, but repeated for convenience sake; not having to restart over and over again.
For quite some time, NASA denied the very existence of the tape, but eventually did admit that it did, indeed, possess it. However, NASA spokesman James Hatfield says that the astonishing statement was a hoax, and inserted by person or persons not affiliated with NASA.

Strange Case of Flight 94

An extremely compelling UFO event occurred at 2105 EST on March 12, 1977 between Buffalo and Albany, New York, that involved United Airlines flight 94, a nonstop flight from San Francisco to Boston. The DC-10 airplane was under the control of autopilot system #2 and was flying at 37,000 feet altitude. The entire sky was dark and clear ahead and above the airplane, except for a partial under cast with small clouds extending to about 20 miles ahead. The aircraft was flying at an indicated air speed of 275 knots (true air speed 530 knots). The aircraft was about half way between Buffalo and Albany, and had just changed from contact with the "FROM" VOR (Very-High-Frequency Omnidirectional Bearing) signal emanating from Buffalo to the "TO" signal from Albany. The aircraft was just south of Syracuse, New York.
Suddenly and unexpectedly, the airplane began to turn to the left, making a 15 degree bank. Within a few seconds, the First Officer and the Captain looked to the left side of their plane and saw an extremely bright white light at about their own altitude. Subsequently, the Flight Engineer also looked and saw the light source. It appeared to be perfectly round and its apparent diameter was about 3 degrees of arc. However, the Captain estimated the object to be about 1,000 yards away and to be about 100 feet in size, that corresponds to an angular size of 2 degrees. "Its intensity was remarkable — about the intensity of a flashbulb," he remarked. Boston ATC radioed to ask "United 94, where are you going?" The Captain replied "Well, let me figure this out. I will let you know." He then noticed that the three cockpit compasses (that use sensors in different parts of the plane) were all giving different readings. At this point, the Copilot turned off the autopilot and took manual control of the airplane.
Based upon the fact that the object did not move laterally in the cockpit window during the 45 degree left heading change and from knowledge of the turn radius of this airplane at its stated velocity, Haines calculated the approximate distance to the object to be about 10 nautical miles. If the pilot's angular size estimate for the object is accurate, this suggests that the light source was about 2100 feet across. The object appeared to stay with the airplane for 4 to 5 minutes, after which it departed very rapidly, disappearing within about 15 seconds behind them to the West. The Captain asked ATC if they had any radar traffic in that area and received a negative reply.
The navigation system involves two gyro-suspended compasses, each coupled to a special circuit with a "mismatch annunciator flag." If the readings from the two compasses differ by 3 degrees or more, the autopilot should automatically disengage and the mismatch annunciator flag should be displayed (Powell, 1981). This forces the pilot to take manual control of the airplane. However in this event the readings on the two compasses differed by more than 3 degrees yet the airplane remained on autopilot and the mismatch annunciator flag was not displayed.
Haines reviewed several possible interpretations of this event (cf. Perry & Geppert, 1997). It seems most probable that the malfunction of the three compasses was due to a transient perturbing magnetic field that disturbed the two primary magnetic compasses, the sensor on the wing tip nearest the object (which was controlling the active autopilot at the time) being disturbed more than the other wing-tip sensor. Upon landing, the compasses were checked and found to be in normal operating condition.

UFO Crash near Istanbul
According to Turkey UFO and Paranormal Events Research Org. [TUVPO], a mysterious object was filmed by chance as it crashed into the Marmora Sea, off the coast of Instanbul, Turkey on May 26. TUVPO reports that witnesses say the brightly-colored object was travelling at extreme speed and caused panic among local fishermen who witnessed it, along with a amateur cameraman who was lucky enough to record the event. Currently the film is being examined by Turkey's National Observatory and military, plus members of TUVPO.

Dave Vetterick reports that, "Many think the Alien Autopsy film has been declared a hoax and that is where the matter rests." "However, that is not the case as it has not been proven authentic nor has it been proven a hoax. Two aspects of the 1947 Roswell UFO incident have generated the majority of the discussion and interest in this subject in the last few years:

The news spread like wildfire regarding the fact that in Tabio and Tenjo, communities 40 km. to the northwest of the Colombian capital, strange phenomena are occurring. The CONTACTO OVNI organization held a skywatch [in this vicinity] since some of the reports from nearly 300 people who occupy the region adjacent to Peña de Huaica state that strange lights engaged in all kind of maneuvers are being seen by day and by night. Even the local mayor has witnessed these events and there exists a generalized restlessness over the phenomenon.
Fifteen members of the organization headed out with both camcorder and still cameras toward the location in question on the night of April 02. For 7 minutes, we captured on video the maneuvers of a strange orange object which changed shape above the road leading toward Tabio.
On the following day, at around 9:15 a.m., we took photographs of Peña de Huaica without noticing anything abnormal. However, upon developing the negatives, we were startled by the fact that the first two photos in the sequence show nothing above mountain, but the third features a circular blue disk. We compared the photos and subsequent analysis at Kodak in Bogotá revealed no anomalies in the film, since the object was in fact there. The negative was enlarged and the metallic disk descending over the hill can be clearly seen.
