A tube of light reveals remarkable details of color on close-up examination. The camera's macro optics measure the distance of the event and position it in the same focal range as the grass below. If it were closer to the lens the grass would be completely blurred out of focus. Further away and the shrubs in the background would obscure the passage of light.

The signal is robust and contiguous, registering in front of the bushes about 4-5 feet above the ground. A multi-spectrum contrail 6 inches in length extruding from a disc-shaped object travelling at 20 mph (the image was recorded in 1/60 second).
