About 7.50 PM - 8.50 PM (I thought it was 8.50 PM but my husband said today that it was more like 7.50 PM. He is probably right as I was not watching the time) on 21 November 2006 my husband and I were walking to the car at the front of our home in Eaton, Western Australia to go to the Servo and my husband said to me..."I just saw a ball of light in the sky about that big"...holding up his two hands and joining his first fingers and thumbs together. He said it just completely disappeared from view. I didn't see it as I was starting to get into the car. Our home faces West towards the estuary and ocean, and this light was in the sky just over to the right of the front of our home.
At (9.25 PM) I was sitting outside the back of our home by myself having a smoke and I saw a big ball of white light appear in the sky out of nowhere and go to the ground (disappeared behind trees). It was big and silent!! It was in a completely different direction than the light my husband saw earlier. The light my husband saw was West and the one I observed was East. I don't know really how far away it was....maybe a few miles...but in the night sky it looked closer because it was so big and bright. It made the stars look like little pinheads in the background in comparison, and there was no moon that night. The light did not leave a trail as it came down and I only saw it for about a split second because it moved so fast. Intrigued by my sighting, around 10.25 PM (or there about) I went outside to scan the skies for more anomalous lights and observed what appeared to be an orange star. As I looked at it I saw it dart sideways for a good distance, then head back to where it was…going back and forth, up and down...making sharp turns, moving at high speed for short distances...in an erratic manner then stopping still for a few minutes. I watched it for about 10, maybe 15 minutes and came inside. During the time I was observing it I saw and heard a plane fly over with two front head lights and flashing strobe lights from a different direction but traveling away from the orange light. About 11.30pm I went outside and the orange star/light was no longer visible. The next day my husband told me the light he saw was orange and I did not know that when I observed the orange light the night before, as he was in bed asleep. He also said the light moved down and disappeared from view behind the houses. I called out to my son’s girlfriend to observe the orange light, and she did for a few minutes but did not want to look at it as it disturbed her. During the sightings of the big bright lights there was much vehicle traffic heard in the distance, so I feel positive that others would have seen these lights. Over the past 4 weeks at night I have twice seen strange red lights in the direction of where I saw the bright white light. Once I saw just a bright red streak for a nanosecond, and another time I clearly saw a bright red small ball of light moving for about a nanosecond. On the first occasion someone said it was probably ball lightning, and there were a few clouds around so I dismissed it. (Before that I had never seen or heard of ball lightning). When I saw the red ball light I dismissed it as ball lightning even though there was not a cloud in the sky. Now after seeing that big ball of light last night I don't think it was ball lightning. There is some sort of activity going on. 1.The light I saw was very bright and white and about the size of a soccer ball from the distance I saw it from. 2. I am unable to tell the distance and I have only guessed because it is really impossible to do. 3.The light was about maybe 500-1000 feet up when it appeared and flew down behind the trees on the small slope behind my home. 4. The orange light I observed was to the right side of our home. Our home faces West and backs East. The orange light was like an orange star in the night sky. 5. I did notice another orange star further over to the side of my home, but I was not focusing my attention on that one. Whether it was moving around or not I would not know. The one I was watching captivated me. 6. The night was cloudless and there was no moon, it was a lovely night with the sky filled with stars. I would like to state also that I have seen many meteors over the years and none of these sightings were meteors or could be construed to be planes or stars or the moon or ball lightning.
