Brilliant object photographed over Lake O' The Pines, Texas, 08-02-05
UFO

On August 2, 2005 my mother and I were at the lake and she saw a brilliant object to the southwest. I spotted it with her new 10X50 binoculars and it looked like an oblique disc (not oriented vertically or horizontally but somewhere in between). I handed her the binoculars and I began attempting to take pictures of it. I ended up with four pictures, and all but the last one were fairly overexposed though the object can be brought out with Photoshop. The picture I'm sending was taken at 8:06 P.M. with my Fujifilm Finepix 2800 zoomed at 6X optical and set to 2 megapixels. We didn't hear any sound from the object as it moved in an easterly direction.

It would grow bright and then dim to the point we couldn't see it, and it did this a number of times. For a brief moment while looking through the binoculars my mother said it was a perfect circle with five lights evenly spaced around its perimeter and two larger "different" lights in the center that were not as distinct as the five outer. These lights, she said, were all the same color which was incandescent in appearance, though I couldn't see this with my naked eye and none of my pictures were able to catch this. Several seconds after we lost sight of the object for the last time I saw and heard what I believe was a military jet traveling traveling southeast not far from where we had last seen the object, though I don't know if it had been aware of the object or not.

Here is my mother's report:

"Late afternoon on August 2, 2005 we saw a bright light in the southwestern sky. Looking at it through the binoculars I saw what appeared to be a circle with five brilliant lights around the edge. There seemed to be two other glowing lights in the center of the cirlce. The lights glowed and then dimmed several times as the object moved further away. As it moved higher the shape was disc-like. My son made some pictures which accompany this report."

I'm enclosing the last picture I took of the object which is the clearest.
