This strange light formation was probably seen by thousands of people in the inland empire here in southern California. Note the spiralling effect...it was dusk, almost dark. Strange to have a contrail do that.

Another person in our office here reported seeing the same thing AND seeing a "bright light" flying out of formation at high speed and disappearing into the sky. If you look center / right of my photo you can see the triangular object quite well.

This may have been what the other person in our office saw. I did NOT see this when the photo was taken...strange... very cool.

Neighbors were also witnesses to the event.
