Belgium Photojournalist Submits Photos

I am a photojournalist and an occasional visitor of your site. When I came across the story of wispy clouds I became curious and decided to have a go with my equipment.

I focused on the edge of very high clouds and for each cloud I took about 20 shots in burst mode at 1/2000 of a second.

To my great surprise, a number of cloud sequences showed an object that had a different, subsequent, position relative to the clouds, suggesting that it was moving.

Ruling out lens diffraction this can only mean that the camera registered something or that there is an internal dust particle bouncing around from mirror slap.

I highly doubt the latter since about 90 % of the shots are clear and the movement of the object in subsequent shots is linear.

In attachment you find an animated gif, the object appears in four frames and seems to make a sharp angle turn.

The preceding and following shots showed no object.

Camera Canon Eos 5D-MKII, Lens 80-200 f2,8, iso 200, f5,6, 1/2000th @ 80mm
