Hillary would play a positive role in getting this information out...
UFO enthusiasts are thrilled at the prospect of a Hillary Clinton presidency, believing the former first-lady is the “pro-disclosure” candidate. Mother Jones recently broke down Clinton’s appeal, which includes some big names in UFO research, like Stephen Bassett.
Bassett is an officially registered UFO lobbyist, the only one fighting for full disclosure on Capitol Hill. He believes a Hillary Clinton presidency is the best chance for the government to come clean on extra-terrestrials.
Academic and UFO researcher Michael Salla feels the same way.
“I think Hillary would play a positive role in getting this information out. I think that Hillary definitely is much more the pro-disclosure candidate, where as someone like Jeb Bush is basically status quo.”
The strong support from the UFO community could be valuable. The Huffington Post revealed in a survey that around 48 percent of Americans believe aliens have contacted individual humans.
Why is Hillary Clinton so popular with this group?
According to Mother Jones, Clinton has never spoken publicly about the alien issue. But some people close to her have, like John Podesta.
Podesta was the chief of staff for Bill Clinton and will most likely be the man running Hillary Clinton’s campaign, once she officially announces her candidacy. He was also a senior adviser to Barack Obama.
Aside from his work in politics, UFO research has always been close to Podesta’s heart.
In the forward of Leslie Kean’s book UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record, Podesta wrote that it was time the American people knew the truth.
“It’s time to find out what the truth really is that’s out there. The American people — and people around the world — want to know, and they can handle the truth.”
Likewise, he sent the UFO believer community into a frenzy when he tweeted about his greatest failure for 2014, before retiring from the Obama White House.
“Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the #disclosure of the UFO files.”
Podesta might get another chance in the Hillary Clinton White House.
Mother Jones’ second close connection between Clinton and the believers is Laurance S. Rockefeller, who started asking the government to release all information about UFOs and extraterrestrial activity in early 1993.
He was not successful — for the most part. Nevertheless, the billionaire did convince the Clintons to enact the Rockefeller Initiative, which pushed the Air Force into releasing a comprehensive report on the Roswell incident — one largely dismissed as false — and the disclosure of millions of documents, which were unrelated to UFOs.
Despite the initiative’s unsatisfying conclusion, Bassett claims it’s proof that the Clintons are pro-disclosure.
Of course, there are some issues with Hillary’s supposedly secret pro-disclosure position. After all, she’s already been in the White House, and if the Clintons were friends of the UFO believing community, wouldn’t Bill have already spilled the beans?
The Daily News reports that Bill Clinton sent aides out to investigate any proof of alien activities, but they came up empty-handed, according to the former president.
He still left one subtle hint when talking to Jimmy Kimmel about his theories on UFOs.
“If we were visited someday I wouldn’t be surprised. I just hope that it’s not like ‘Independence Day.'”
Likewise, Podesta already failed to get Obama and Bill Clinton to disclose UFO documents, why would he have any more luck with Hillary Clinton?
UFO believers might be disappointed by Hillary Clinton presidency, but at least there’s one good thing to look forward to: the new X-Files coming to Fox.
