Night shift worker Conner was busy working a night shift at a meatpacking plant in Amarillo, Texas when an intense lightning storm suddenly lit up the sky.

So, he started recording the action and out of nowhere, a strange object seemingly crashed to Earth, much faster than a typical streaking meteor or aircraft.

After sharing the footage online, many compared the sighting to something from H.G. Wells science fiction novel The War of the Worlds.

One person said it looked like when the Martians struck the ground with lightning bolts, while others just called it an alien spacecraft.

One scientific explanation would be ball lightning, or the unexplained phenomenon described as luminescent, spherical objects.
