encounter with "strange beings"...
One woman in the series gave details of her face-to-face encounter with "strange beings" in the early hours of the morning. Francine Granville, whose parents owned a hotel in the village, wasn't the only member of her family to have had such an experience.
Rose Granville described aliens visiting her home in the 1970s.
Her mother, Rose, previously described the "large aircraft" that she had seen outside her room. She furthered that the craft emitted a heat that she could "feel through the window". The supposed alien vessel left a mark at the bottom of the family's garden, where, only a few days later, Francine's alien encounter took place.
"It was quite late, around 2am in the morning," Francine said in the documentary. "We heard the doorbell ring [but] we'd not seen anyone approach the hotel, come up the drive, either in a car or on foot.
"So I went to the door, and there were these two guys. They looked like identical twins. They had hair that was slicked back like patent leather, but what I found quite remarkable was their complexion."
The strange-looking men asked her whether her mother was home and she went to get her. "There wasn't a single mark on their faces, as if they were made of wax," Rose later said in her testimony.
"We'd like to come back and speak to you at length, but we have an appointment in Croesgoch," the two men told Rose. "I got a bit worried about this because, I mean, they looked so odd," the hotel owner later said in an audio recording.
An impression of what the two men who visited Rose's home looked like.
Afterwards, the men walked towards their vehicle and - in the words of Francine - "they just vanished." Strangely, a neighboring family reported being visited by the two men at the same time they were at Rose's home.
This, however, was not Rose nor Francine's only strange encounter. While sitting in a restaurant, the mother and daughter noticed "a silver disc [that] pulsated an orange light." To be sure she wasn't seeing things, Rose called a neighbor and they confirmed they had seen the same strange phenomena in the sky. The light descended into the Stack Rock, which is an island just off the coast of Broad Haven.
Further reports of strange sightings were made, including by David Davies, who was 10 years old at the time. He was initially skeptical upon hearing his schoolfriends describe their encounters and sightings of supposed UFOs and extraterrestrials.
"I totally regarded the story as being nonsense as to me flying saucers didn't exist," he said. "They were in bad 1950s sci-fi movies or in tabloid newspapers."
He was keen to prove his friends wrong and set out to do so. However, while in the depths of Broad Haven, he saw exactly what he wished he didn't.
"From behind some trees, this thing popped up in front of me. It was silver, cigar-shaped and about 45ft long and there was just this thought that came into my mind that I had to run away," he said. "Mothers can tell when you're lying and [mine] was absolutely convinced what I was saying was the truth."
