In Bouhamama, Algiers in 1958, during the height of
the Algerian War, a lone soldier had an amazing experience.
Called N.G. for privacy purposes, he was stationed at a Foreign Legion
Post, when just after midnight, he heard a faint whistling sound descending
from the sky. It sounded like blowing across the top of a bottle.
The object was huge, somewhere around 350 ft. wide. The witness is notable for his exceptional professional background:
French Foreign Legion service demanded rigorous psychological and physical selection standards. Following the incident, military authorities dispatched N.G. to the Val de Grace military hospital in Paris, where a week of examinations by neurologists and psychiatrists found him in full mental and physical health.
