Rectangular-shaped UFO over Menifee, California

rectangular/square-shaped...

Rectangular-shaped UFO with Changing Lights over Menifee, California - Mirror like object was rectangular/square-shaped, at least 150 feet wide - massive — easily the size of a large aircraft or bigger. I was outside in Menifee, CA, when I spotted a small dark speck low against the sky that immediately drew my attention because of its unusual motion.

It was heading southwest, moving away from me noticeably faster than any consumer drone I’ve seen — I estimated well over 500 mph at roughly 1,000 feet altitude. It appeared to be adjusting its elevation slightly upward, possibly to clear low hills in that direction.

It looked flat and level, like a “flying carpet” but completely translucent/clear. You could see the sky through it, but it visibly distorted or altered the background — the blue sky and clouds behind/through it shifted, warped, or changed slightly as my eyes tracked it (like a subtle refraction or heat-shimmer effect). This translucency and the way it “changed the sky” was the most striking and hardest-to-process part.

It had multiple colored lights (prominently red and blue, possibly others) that ran through the rectangle in faint vertical lines top-to-bottom. The lights were not bright strobes or navigation lights like on planes/drones — they were subtle and integrated into the structure. No wings, rotors, exhaust, contrail, or visible propulsion. It was completely silent.

The object continued steadily southwest, gaining distance and altitude slightly, getting smaller until it was out of clear view. It did not hover, change direction abruptly after the initial observation, or make any sound.
