Unknown Object Observed/Videotaped over California, 01-30-09
Frame Capture with Notation
California-01-30-09

Published: 8:41 AM 3/27/2009

My sister and my friend recorded this object while driving one night using a cell phone camera. The object was unrecognizable due to it size and brightness. When they brought home the video they showed it to me, one other friend, and my parents.

At first we assumed it was a blimp, but we thought it was unusual for a blimp to be entirely lit up, (instead of just the screen being lit up) with no logos or ads on it. The object flies in a straight line at first but at 1:04 in the video, it changes directions, from flying southeast to directly east with no hesitation.

After this occurs, the object isn't visible for a brief while because it disappears behind a tree line. At 2:30 the object reappears at a distance, having traveled at a faster rate of speed than before. The video ends due to the ladies having to make a left turn away from the object, heading home.

The two young ladies were ecstatic over what they had seen, while everyone else was in disbelief and offering suggestions as to what it may be. My sister also added that with the naked eye, you could make out the top or dome above the light (like the dome on top of a flying saucer).

After more people viewed the video, we narrowed down the object to two possibilities:

1 - Some sort of non-advertisement (or maybe weather) blimp that's UNNECESSARILY bright.

2 - A UFO.

Not knowing what else to do we posted this video on youtube (titled "UFO? walnut 2009") asking people their thoughts on the subject. A few days later, another youtube user claims to have seen the object later on that night. They claim to have seen the object turn from a white glow to red glow... while rotating.

Whether this claim is true or not we do not know. On a side note, I received another comment on my video by a person living one city east of my hometown. In the daytime they recorded (on an actual video camera, March 23, '09) an object either reflecting the sunlight or making its own light.

This object is moving erratically within the same parameters over open land, seemingly "skipping" like watching an old VHS tape. I just thought I would include this part being as the locations of the two videos are approximately within 15 miles from each other. Any response debunking or accepting this video would be much appreciated.

Official: Aliens Landed in East Anglia
UFO Depiction
22nd March 2009 By Rick Lyons

IT’S official! Aliens visited Britain, according to classified Government X-Files.

A Norwich woman told how she had a terrifying close encounter with a man from another planet while walking her dog.

In a frantic call to RAF Wattisham in Suffolk, the woman said she was approached by an extra-terrestrial with a “Scandinavian-type accent” in a light brown flying suit.

She said the alien told her their visits were friendly but they were ordered not to have contact with humans as they would be considered a threat.

After ten minutes the man took off in a large glowing orange-white spherical object leaving her “completely terrified”.

The November 1989 incident is one of nearly 1,200 UFO sightings between November 1987 and April 1993 recorded in newly released Ministry of Defence documents.

Other close encounters includ a mysterious diamond object, above, seen over Calvine, near Pitlochry in Scotland, on August 4, 1990.

The UFO hung in the air next to an RAF Harrier for about ten minutes before taking off at high speed.

Military investigators were so concerned they commissioned artists to make drawings of the craft.

Schoolgirl Videotapes ‘UFO Sighting’
Still Frame of Video
This is the latest in a series of sightings of UFOs in the skies over Shropshire which was captured on camera by Bridgnorth school girl Harriet Rogers.

Thirteen-year-old Harriet filmed about seven minutes-worth of footage with the help of her dad on February 21.

The pair were amazed to see the light and spent about 20 minutes watching the bizarre lights. It was still there when they stopped recording, Harriet said.

“My grandmother telephoned telling us about a light in the sky; we went upstairs and had a look.

“What my dad and I saw was a light much brighter compared to the stars.

“At first, we thought it was a helicopter but then my dad went outside but could not hear any rotor blades.

“That’s when we started getting suspicious, so I got the camcorder out.

“To the human eye, it just looked like a bright light but, on the cam-recorder we could see it pulsing, then suddenly changing colours. It was low in the sky, the bright light on the first part of the recording is a street light,” said Harriet.

Report Says UFOs Do Not Exist-Not Everyone Agrees
UFO Depiction
March 16, 2009 by Mysterian

Bill Knell asked:

According to a once secret report released by the British Ministry of Defense in April of 2007, UFOs are not anything to get excited about. The MoD report claims that all the incidents they have investigated show the objects in question to be without mass, no danger to air traffic and not under intelligent control.

Despite the four hundred pages of nay saying, not everyone agrees.

For almost two decades, a number of British Intelligence Analysts and former UK Military consultants working for the MoD have leaked documents which reveal that UFOs are intelligently-controlled vehicles of extra-terrestrial origin. The MoD leaks, recent reports that former Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin saw a UFO from his aircraft in 2004 and statements from other Canadian officials which indicate UFOs are alien spacecraft may be the reason for this latest piece of disinformation.

While the MoD may believe that there is nothing to this whole UFO thing, they might have considered checking with at least two UK Commercial Airline Pilots that recent saw one. Captain Ray Bowyer, 50, of Aurigny Airlines, spotted a “bright-yellow light” 10 miles west of Alderney at about 3pm during a flight from Southampton while his aircraft was 30 miles from the island at 4,000 feet on Monday, April 23, 2007.

Captain Bowyer: “It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. It was 2,000ft up and stationary. I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realized it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a [Boeing] 737.

“But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide.”

While on approach to Guernsey, Bowyer noticed a “second identical object further to the west”. He said: “It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey. I can’t explain it. At first, I thought it might have been a reflection from a vinery in Guernsey, but that would have disappeared quickly. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes. As I got closer to it, it became clear to me that it was tangible.

I was in two minds about going towards it to have a closer look but decided against it because of the size of it. I had to think of the safety of the passengers first. I’m certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I’m saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying.”

Bowyer reported the incident to Paul Kelly, 31, an Air Traffic Controller on duty. Kelly indicated that nothing appeared on his radar. However, ATC Paul Kelly received a “similar report” from a Blue Islands pilot en route to Jersey at the same time. Kelly explained that as the pilot went past Sark he “described an object behind him to his left”.

Kelly continued: “The description was very similar to Captain Bowyer’s and they described it as being in exactly the same place. But they were looking at it from opposite sides.” The other pilot said that the UFO was 1,550 feet lower than his aircraft, which was at 3,500ft. “Both pilots placed it at the same altitude”, Kelly added.

In 1987, I published a phone interview that I did with an official for the British Ministry of Defense in The New York UFO Report. The official was an assistant to a person involved with nuclear investigations. Because I knew the person which arranged the phone interview very well, there was no doubt that I was speaking with a very important source of insider information when it came to the MoD.

The official told me that there were numerous incursions into areas where nuclear weapons and other sensitive materials were stored. These incursions involved unidentified aircraft and physical beings of unknown origin. He refused to elaborate about the beings fearing that any further descriptions might help identify him.

According to him, general stories about the creatures and crafts that made the incursions were common knowledge to many in the MoD. Recent statements by Nick Pope may have helped to validate those stories.

In November of 2006, Nick Pope (the former head of the MoD UFO research project) told the British Press that his Country was vulnerable to invasion or infiltration by extra-terrestrial forces. Pope felt that the shutting down of UFO research at the MoD Directorate of Defense Security has left his nation unprepared to defend against Aliens.

As a result, he resigned his position with the Directorate. On previous occasions he has stated that the MoD wasn’t hiding anything from the British Public. I wonder how he feels now?

My own source at the MoD said that the organization was of two minds when it came to UFOs. Many UK Military Officers feel there is ample evidence to believe that Aliens exist and are visiting the Earth without respect for national boundaries or security. That makes them a national security concern. Others at the MoD believe the entire matter is without merit and should be ignored.

Time either heals all wounds or wounds all heals. In this case, time has been a friend to my source. Over the past twenty years since that interview with him, I have watched the UK Government split hairs over UFOs. When the UFO incident took place near the Bentwaters Base and NATO Facility in 1980, it was confirmation that UFOs are making incursions into security sensitive UK military facilities.

The aftermath also revealed a clear split among military members and their hierarchy when it came to the subject of UFOs.

Officially, it seemed that no one was really sure what happened at Bentwaters. Everything from Light House Beacons to reflective tree bark was rolled out to explain away the incident. But most of the people on the ground when it happened seemed convinced this wasn’t an ordinary event involving a conventional explanation.

As with Roswell and hundreds of other cases involving military bases, aircraft, ships and UFOs, you had the choice of believing those who were there or people writing reports about it later to suit there own political and philosophical needs.

Even if you have spent just a few minutes researching UFOs and have an open mind, will not be fooled by the MoD Report. As with other self-serving documents like the 1997 Air Force Report on the Roswell Crash and the recent UFO files released by France, these papers are designed to create doubt and mask any other information government agencies possess about UFOs and Aliens.

High School Students Say the Truth is out There
UFO Depiction
March 23, 2009

A group of Booker T. Washington High School students say the truth is out there. The students say they watched a strange circle of red lights dart around the sky around 8:30 p.m. tonight in the vicinity of Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional Airport.

The students said they were gathered outside the school waiting for their ride home when the mysterious lights appeared. One student shot some video of the lights on his cell phone and showed them to a Pensacola News Journal editor.

The video shows a bright light moving around the sky for several minutes.

The students said they saw helicopters appeared around the same time and seemed to be searching for the lights.

Meanwhile, according to a report posted on the Mutual UFO Network Web site, the lights were seen from Nine Mile Road at the same time the students reported them.

"I was sitting on my back porch, which faces east, at my home on Nine Mile Road and Ashland Rd. in Pensacola... At approximately 8:30 p.m. a "spiral," for lack of better term, of lights began glowing a very bright red-orange in the east sky. This was not a helicopter or plane. It would glow for approx 1-4 seconds then fade out from tail to the center of the "spiral," the report said.

Six 'Saucer-Shaped' UFOs And Face-To-Face ET Contact in LA, 1957
UFO Depiction

By Frank Altomonte

alto100@ca.rr.com

3-18-2009

Sandwiched between Los Angeles International Airport on the South and Marina del Rey on the North is the small beach community of Playa del Rey, a district of the City of Los Angeles. It is here on the coastal highway that still skirts sumptuous coastal properties that our story begins some 52 years ago.

It has been mentioned in a number of UFO books, but the full story was found in a rare out of print book, "Encounters with UFO Occupants," by Jim and Coral Lorenzen, 1976. This was the second edition of an even more rare, "UFO Occupants," published in 1968. The following text is taken from the second edition.

"A strange story about stalled cars and little men was told to authorities and the press on the morning of November 6, 1957, when Richard Kehoe, an employee of the General Telephone Company of Santa Monica, related his early-morning experience. This is another tale which has fallen into ill repute because of the reluctance of researchers to accept human-like occupants as real, and the lack of corroborating witnesses.

Kehoe claimed that while driving along Vista del Mar at Playa del Rey in California (a beach area) at 5:40 AM, his engine stopped as did the engines of two other cars. When the drivers got out to see what was wrong they saw an egg-shaped spaceship wrapped 'in a blue haze' on the beach.

Kehoe claimed two "little men" (about 5 feet 5 inches, which isn't really small) got out of the object and asked questions of him and the two other drivers, such as: 'Where we were going? Who we were? What time it was? etc.'

He said their skin appeared to be yellowish-green in the early morning light, but that otherwise they looked normal. He said they were wearing black leather pants, white belts, and light-colored jerseys.

The two other drivers were identified as Ronald Burke of Redondo Beach and Joe Thomas of Torrance, and Kehoe claimed Thomas called the police. He said the little men sounded as though they were talking English, but he couldn't understand them, and said simply that he had to go to work.

The men got back into their ship and disappeared into the sky, whereupon his car started up immediately. The ship was oval, tan or cream in color, with two metal rings around it upon which the object apparently rested, according to Kehoe."

The approximate location today has many changes. The coastal neighborhood overlooking the highway was nearly all purchased by LAX in the late 60's for airport expansion. The jets take off constantly overhead during the day and land from over the beach in the late evening and early morning.

What's left to the South of the remaining neighborhood is fenced off. Within there is a ghostly scene of vacant streets with 40's vintage street lamps still intact and vacant lots still showing their decapitated foundations with overgrown landscaping and aging untended palm trees.

It would be difficult to find anyone who still remembers since it was so long ago. With this date in mind, the Los Angeles Public Library main branch downtown held some clue. The Herald Examiner and the Los Angeles Times, as well as various small community publications were found in the stacks by this writer one Saturday a couple of years ago.

The historical volumes of microfilm were scanned on and around this date for any further information. It wasn't until this exact date was referenced in the Los Angeles Times that the following story was found. Would you look at these headlines!

Newspaper Headline

"They (USAF personnel) spotted six 'saucer shaped flying objects' at an altitude of about 7000 feet at the base of a cloud bank about 3:50 p.m. "

WIDE AREA COVERED BY REPORTS Los Angeles Times Nov. 6, 1957

Those unidentified flying objects first reported over Texas and Gulf of Mexico arrived over Southern California yesterday.

Reports of unidentified flying objects cluttered police switchboards in the west and southwest portions of the city. There were two sightings in Orange County and a belated report of an early sighting Monday at Borrego Springs, San Diego County.

None could identify the objects, neither could they agree on what they looked like.

People living in the Hollywood Hills told of a "ball of fire" in the sky. In the San Fernando Valley people saw "a great green light". A housewife in Corona del Mar saw what looked like "an orange jack-o-lantern."

Hovers Over Ocean

Mrs. Charles Weitzel, 243 Driftwood Drive, Corona del Mar, said the object hovered just above the horizon, out over the ocean in the south southwest quadrant. She had the exact time of her sighting -- 6:04.pm -- because that was the time she put the corn-on-the-cob in the pressure cooker, then stepped to her picture window to look out.

The object vanished in the several seconds it took Mrs. Weitzel to summon her husband, a Marine Corps flier, to the window. Although most persons reported just fleeting glimpses of the extraterrestrial phenomena, other observers claimed to have the objects in view for more than an hour.

Personnel at Los Alamitos Naval Air Station reported unidentified objects in sight almost continuously between 6:05 and 7:25 p.m.

Lt. Richard Spencer, a flying officer, saw the object from the ground. "It was not a star and it was not an airplane", he said. He admitted, however, that it appeared to be "star like," and added that it glowed in varying colors, changing from bright to dim and back again.

Airport Tower Operator Louis D. Mitchell and a sentry on duty, Hospital man Charles Kreiger, also observed the object. Almost all observers were agreed that the object moved slowly -- almost imperceptibly, across the sky. Most were agreed that the direction of travel was north or northwest.

Lending credence to the reports was the fact that there Air Force weather observers, including the commanding officer of the unit, acknowledged sighting unidentified phenomena over Long Beach Municipal Airport.

They spotted six "saucer shaped flying objects" at an altitude of about 7000 feet at the base of a cloud bank about 3:50 p.m.

Larger Than C-46

Maj. Louis F. Baker, commanding officer of the weather observation post, who sighted the objects with his assistants Airmen Joseph Abramavage and William Nieland said: "They were circular and shiny like spun aluminum changing course instantaneously without loss of speed like planes in a dogfight," Maj. Baker said. He said the objects were larger than a twin engine C-46 aircraft and were in sight for about a minute and a half.

The objects also were observed by 10 military personnel waiting to board an airplane at the airport, the spotters reported. Maj. Baker said he rejected the theory that the objects were sheet ice in a cumulonimbus cloud because of their regular circular shape.

Winked Slowly

An electronics executive, Merlin G. Perkins, 1102 N. Wright St., Santa Ana, said he observed an object though binoculars for almost a half hour as it moved slowly overhead finally fading away into the reflected light above the Santa Ana business district. It appeared to be round and it winked slowly from dim to bright, with a reddish glow, Perkins said.

Two residents of Borrego Springs, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Burnand Jr., belatedly reported "a powerful mysterious light in the desert about 6 p.m. Monday. "It appeared to be about twice the size of the moon," Burnand said, "and it flashed about eight times, each flash being about two seconds duration."

Reddish in Color

"When it flashed the rays shot out in all directions and it made you think of an explosion without sound," he added. It was reddish in color, the couple said.

U.S. Weather Bureau official here said last night they knew of no atmospheric conditions which could account for the rash of reports. One weather analyst did observe, however, that the objects sighted in Texas last week end and appeared to be considerably larger than those seen here.

Two brief related reports appear after this on the page to fill out the columns:

Mystery Object, Like A Planet, Seen Over Gulf

New Orleans, Nov 5 (AP) -- The Coast Guard cutter Sebago sighted an unidentified flying object over the Gulf of Mexico at 5:21 a.m. today. The object, seen for about three seconds, resembled a brilliant planet moving at tremendous speed.

Coast Guard headquarters in New Orleans received a radio message about the sighting. The message did not say exactly who on board the cutter had seen the object.

Air Force Alerts Its Radar Network By The United Press

The Air Force yesterday alerted its radar network to watch for strange flying objects which might approach the ring of stations surrounding the United States and Canada. The alert followed a flurry of reports of unidentified objects, some as long as 500 feet, mainly in the South and Southwest.

Quite a wild night out! Whatever happened to journalism like this? Everyone appeared to be open to inquiry including military. There are no reports from "prefers to remain anonymous" in these articles. Something happened and a door was closed.

Whatever happened on the beach in Playa del Rey that morning so long ago was definitely a part of a larger flap. The tantalizing details can be found in the research notes of Jim and Coral Lorenzen now kept at some mid-west University according to one report and not readily accessible.

One day hopefully, those will all be published in their unedited format. They were the best researchers and compilers of UFO cases that ever lived with an international network of field investigators called the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO).

If only those old lamp posts on the highway could speak.

California-Triangle Object
03-24-09-Cerritos-05:15 PM PDT-3 white colored, disk/round shaped objects-small appeared to be connected or in tight triangle formation. Altitude; hard to judge without other objects in the same airspace.

Moved silently and slowly during gusts of wind- (unaffected) to the east over Cerritos Community College campus then vanished- sighting took approximately 45 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes. I do not know if there were other witnesses, but busy area, very possible. I had my cell phone camera but was too far away to pick it up. Jack G B. source: www.ufocasebook.com

Florida-Diamond-Shaped Object
03-23-07-I was driving home from work and saw a low flying craft. I turned my head quickly to look at it thinking that I was going to see a plane crash and noticed that it was not an airplane. I was just east of WalMart on highway 98 in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

The craft was hovering just above the trees maybe 50 yards away from me. I was so startled that I had to pull off the side of the road. I watched it for about 3 minutes. It had eight lights. They were shaped like a diamond. Four lights made up a small diamond that was surrounded by four more lights that made up a bigger diamond around it. It just hovered there in the sky not moving. I also noticed that it was not making any noise. I had the windows down in my car and I could not hear anything. After a few minutes it just diappeared. I thought that maybe I had blinked and missed it, but I could not find it anywhere in the sky. I know that it was definitely not any kind of airplane that I had ever seen or heard of before. source: www.mufon.com

Florida-Triangle Object
03-23-09-Coming home from Pensacola beach, I spotted three lights in a row. The object seemed to turn, and then it appeared to be triangular with more lights. The lights would stay on 3-4 seconds and then disappear. The object did not appear to be moving, so I assumed it was not an airplane or helicopter.

I kept watching as we were driving across the bridge, and the object did not appear to move. I wached the lights go on and off in the same pattern at least 4-5 times. As we reached the end of the bridge and turned on HWY 98 toward Navarre, we looked to our left and the same lights and pattern appeared on the left side of HWY 98 totally opposite the side of the road we had seen it before.

This time it seemed to be moving back accross HWY 98 back toward the water. It moved across, in front, above us, and lower behind trees. We were in a Jeep with no windows, but heard no noise what so ever. After arriving home in Midway, we looked in the sky and could see what seemed to be puffy small smoke-like clouds above us, but the rest of the sky was totally clear.

Shortly afterwards we saw and heard several military helicopters going toward where we last saw the object. We were totally amazed as we continued to rule out the possibility of planes, copters, flares, ect. We came to the conclusion there was nothing we knew that could exhibit such unusual patterns of movement and light display. source: www.mufon.com

Sweden-Large, Silver Craft
03-18-09-Stockholm-A couple of days ago I saw something that really stunned me. I would appreciate it if you can mention this to help me search for some evidence.

I live in Stockholm, Sweden. Last Wednesday (2009 03 18, afternoon) I was riding a cab over the bridge from Stora Essingen to Kungsholmen, when I spotted a large silver craft hovering near "old town." I had a hard time understanding what it could be because I couldn't really understand the shape of it.

Seconds later, we were going in between the buildings and I lost sight of it. I spotted it once again and this time closer. I would like to describe it as a somewhat compressed walnut with a really sparkly silver surface. It moved slowly and tilted or wobbled a bit, then moved behind some building. I would estimate it to have been about 20-30 m in diameter hovering about 100 m above ground/water. This was no balloon or blimp.

I was seriously shocked and couldn't utter a word to the cab driver who was speaking to me all the time. I even realized later that I had my camera with me but as it all happened so fast, I was really caught off guard.

When I got off the cab I stayed tuned for something on the news but there was nothing.

Are there any Swedes out there who saw this? This all happened in daytime, central Stockholm with clear weather. There has to be photos and/or video! If there is it could be some really amazing material. All my best and thanks for helping out! Johan-source: www.ufocasebook.com
