Russia: Time to Settle the "Flying Saucers" Question

Moscow - So do UFOs with little green men inside exist or not? CNN supposedly filmed a UFO moving at a great speed from the right to the left during the inauguration of President Barack Obama. (But those who watched the replay say it was a bird.)
After that, former President Clinton's White House Chief John Podesta, now one of Obama's closest associates, demanded that the thick UFO files be made public.
The number of UFO sightings has dramatically increased in recent times. According to Britain's Ministry of Defense, there were supposedly 285 UFO sightings in the UK in 2008, double the figure for 2007, when the number of alleged UFO sightings was reckoned at 137.
The defense departments of the United States and the Soviet Union scrupulously registered alleged sightings of UFOs for decades. American ufologists say that the U.S. authorities were quite serious about the UFO question in the 1940s through 1960s.
Project Blue Book, terminated in 1969, had two goals: to determine if UFOs were a threat to national security, and to scientifically analyze UFO-related data.
The USAF concluded that UFOs are not a threat to national security. Paradoxically, the military still refuse to provide information about UFOs for security reasons.
Ufologists insist that the USAF must give them access to certain documents, such as Project Moon Dust and Project Blue Fly.
Project Moon Dust was started in 1953, ostensibly to recover "returning space debris." Operation Blue Fly was launched to facilitate expeditious delivery to Foreign Technology Division of moon dust and other items of great technological intelligence interest. It is assumed that they were in fact connected with UFOs.
According to ufologists, the U.S. military also have kept the bodies of extraterrestrials who died in spaceship crashes over the United States.
The most widely known of such episodes, the Roswell Incident, took place in New Mexico on July 2, 1947, when an object crash-landed on a ranch approximately 75 miles northwest of Roswell, leaving a large field of debris.
The local air base at Roswell investigated the incident and announced that they had recovered a "flying disk." In fact, the crash was seen by a number of people. There were allegedly alien bodies found in the disk, but the film showing their autopsy was later denounced as a fraud.
If UFOs existed and military units were investigating them, there should also be a place for their deployment. This is Area 51, also known as Groom Lake, a secret military facility about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. At the center of it there is a large air base the government will not discuss about. The Roswell story speaks of alien bodies and wreckage being taken to a "Hangar 18" in Area 51.
Space photographs of the area show a huge landing strip crisscrossing the area and strange circles that can be interpreted as traces of landing of huge "flying saucers." Ufologists are convinced that this is so.
As President, George W. Bush moved Area 51 from the Nevada jurisdiction to that of the Pentagon and Washington. Slightly more than 10 years ago, civilian aircraft were prohibited to fly over the area.
The archives of the former Soviet Union are filled to capacity with data about contacts with extraterrestrials. They contain records of over 20,000 UFO sightings. The Academy of Sciences and the Defense Ministry both undertook investigations under the secret project names of Setka, Galaktika and Gorizont.
It is even said that "competent agencies," meaning the secret services, established contact with aliens and waited for their arrival to Earth. The media is now writing about a team of General Staff officers and academicians waiting for the arrival of an UFO in the Kyzylkum desert in June 1991.
Clearly, humans will always strive to search for beings of humanoid form in the Universe. But it is also apparent that apart from tall tales about "little green men" there are also facts that logically point to the presence of alien intelligence on the Earth.
In this case, maybe the time has come for the U.S. and Russian authorities to declassify information on unidentified flying objects and their masters?

INTELLIGENCE officers scoured hundreds of UFO sighting reports in the 1980s and 1990s looking for top-secret American stealth-plane projects, newly released files have shown.
At the end of the cold war, the Ministry of Defence was worried that America was developing mysterious planes but not telling its closest ally. Staff at department DI55 of the Defence Intelligence Staff logged and investigated hundreds of sightings by pilots, air-traffic controllers and private individuals who believed they had seen an alien presence.
“The MoD did not believe Britain was being visited by aliens but these files show they were obsessed with the fear that our closest ally was developing spy planes and keeping them secret from us,” said David Clarke, a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, and UFO specialist at the National Archives.
In one incident logged in 1989, an oil-rig worker trained in aircraft observation saw a “perfect black triangle” escorted by two American fighters. An official noted: “Attention is now focusing on this, despite a recent US Air Force ‘denial briefing’. This is bound to prompt parliamentary interest.”
In 1990, the crews of six RAF Tornado jets flying over Germany reported seeing a UFO. Staff at RAF West Drayton, where many sightings were initially collated, noted that the pilots had reported the “aerial phenomenon” overtaking them, and said: “Possibly idented [identified] as a stealth aircraft.”
The intelligence task sheet notes: “Sensitivity of material suggests very special handling . . . minimum handling by listed personnel.” The files, the latest in a series of UFO reports being released by the MoD, also settle a long-standing UFO conspiracy theory – the death of American fighter pilot Captain William Schaffner during an exercise over the North Sea in 1970.
To the distress of his family, it has been claimed by some that officials covered up a sinister incident possibly involving a UFO.
The files include the RAF’s official inquiry into the crash, which concluded Schaffner’s Lightning fighter had brushed the sea during a delicate, low-speed manoeuvre.
When he tried to eject, the cockpit canopy remained stuck because of poor maintenance, and Schaffner is believed to have drowned.
The vast majority of the files record calls from the public reporting various cigar-shaped objects, mysterious lights and saucer-shaped craft.
In 1989, RAF Wattisham in Suffolk was phoned by a “distressed female” who described being engaged in conversation by an alien with a Scandinavian accent while walking her dog. The alien then departed in his spaceship.
The same year, the RAF was told of a large flying object seen approaching “from Filton airport” by a “pleasant lady” from her sofa in Bristol. It had an object on top “like a teapot lid”.
In 1992, a secret memo reported nocturnal sightings in the eastern suburbs of London of “a bright cigar-shaped object, moving very slowly and making little or no sound”.
An intelligence analyst recorded that the craft was “almost certainly a brightly illuminated airship advertising the new Ford Mondeo”.

UFO Class on Tap at Southwest Virginia

It was a warm June evening in 2008 when an Abingdon resident stepped outside his Beverly Drive apartment to relax while smoking one of the day’s last cigarettes. Enjoying the evening air, he suddenly heard a low sound similar to a small engine that caused him to look up. A large rectangular object, the size of a football field, drifted slowly overhead only 1,500 to 2,000 feet in the air.
He raced to his neighbors’ apartments for them to see the mysterious sight. Fifteen minutes later, a second identical object flew over, followed by an orb-like light. His account indicated that the craft had no windows and was a solid black mass. The witness was able to see the engine and later drew it for documentation.
Despite what skeptics say, the Abingdon resident is among thousands of people who claim to have witnessed such alarming sightings.
“UFOs have been seen by military and commercial pilots, astronomers, doctors, lawyers and other professionals,” said Trevor Carter, who has studied UFOs for years and will conduct a class on UFOlogy from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 28 at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.
During the Weekend Adult Lifetime Learning (WALL) class, Carter will concentrate on a detailed introduction to documenting UFOs, and discuss the history and scientific data that is available. Carter has invited UFO witnesses, one of whom is radio personality Danny Gordon of Wytheville, to share their experiences with class participants. Gordon, who has appeared on the television series “Unsolved Mysteries” documenting the UFO sightings in Wythe County in the late 1980’s, will co-present the class.
Carter, a software test analyst, has been fascinated with outer space and UFOs for most of his life, but during the past two years he has immersed himself in books, Web sites and scientific papers to learn more about the mysterious phenomenon. Carter discovered the Abingdon sightings while browsing the site for the Mutual UFO Network at http://www.mufon.com. Carter is a member of MUFON and is working with a MUFON Field Investigator on the Abingdon case.
“I want to be a bridge between the information that is nonsense and real, and to provide people with relevant information,” he said. “I’ve spent many years reading books, listening to witnesses, talking to former NASA employees and other UFOlogists, as well as reviewing the scientific papers that are available. I had to weed out a lot of nonsense and fantasy. There is a reality to the UFO phenomenon, but it is not completely solved.”
He believes many of the sightings can be explained by atmospheric conditions, meteors and even airplanes that refuel in the air. A very small percentage of evidence could represent extraterrestrial technologies, which is often referred to as the ET Hypothesis. He is skeptical about this hypothesis even though he is fascinated by the thought of life on other planets.
Some people may welcome the opportunity to see a UFO, while most would feel terrified at the thought. No doubt, data collected from sightings are a source of great mystery and wonder.
Carter said data indicate some UFOs have the ability to hover and make little to no noise. Some of these objects have been calculated as reaching speeds in excess of 7,000 miles per hour. UFOs have been spotted in shapes, such as saucers, triangles, eggs, diamonds, spheres and rectangles. The presence of UFOs has been known to cause a loss of signals in car radios and cell phones, and in some cases car engines completely shut down, he said. There have been cases where vegetation did not grow back where a sighting had taken place. People have even reported skin burns from being too close to the exhaust of a UFO. There are more than 3,000 physical trace cases.
According to Carter, UFOs have been around for more than 60 years, maybe even longer. As early as 1504 B.C., documentations of sightings exist in the annals of the Egyptian kings. In Roman times, unexplained sightings were attributed to astrological changes.
“After the atomic bomb blast in 1945, UFOs increased in frequency. Most notably, in 1947 a wave of UFO sightings occurred throughout the United States, and in July 1947 the army announced to the world that they had recovered a crashed saucer, but only a day later denounced their initial claim and said it was a weather balloon,” he said.
A widely recognized, famous case is the Roswell UFO incident, which involved the recovery of materials near Roswell, N.M., in July 1947. According to Carter, there are various views on what actually happened, but the United States military maintains that what was recovered was a top-secret research balloon that had crashed.
However, many UFO proponents believe the wreckage was of a crashed alien craft and that the military covered up the craft’s recovery.
Carter is familiar with large waves of sightings that have occurred recently throughout Stephensville, Texas, where a few people witnessed a UFO that was larger than a football field. In 1997, Phoenix, Ariz., residents claimed to have seen a mile-wide UFO.
“Even ex-governor Fife Simington has publicly acknowledged that he witnessed the UFO,” he explained.
In the 1980s, as many as 7,000 cases were investigated in the Hudson Valley area of New York and documented by Dr. J. Allen Hynek. Even former president Jimmy Carter reported seeing a peculiar light in the sky in 1969.
In Southwest Virginia, numerous sightings have occurred in Wytheville, Abingdon, Marion and Saltville. Carter thinks many sightings are never reported by witnesses for fear of ridicule or disbelief.
“The wealth of information on UFOs is overwhelming,” said Carter, “but little has been done to find the truth. There is no conclusive evidence of ET visitation available to the public yet, but many UFO proponents, such as the Disclosure Project headed by Dr. Steven Greer, brought forth former military and government officials who have stories to tell and some documentation to support their claims.
They tried to push for congressional hearings, but to no avail.”
Carter wants to continue his research of UFOs as long as possible. Currently, he is investigating three sightings in the region.
“I may not find the truth, but I won’t be satisfied until I exhaust my resources.”

The UFO Community: The Power, the Potential, and the Future

Shockingly, it is now approaching the thirteen year mark of my induction into the UFO Community. No, I didn’t receive my membership card, I didn’t get a party, and unfortunately, wasn’t the guest of honor at a Hollywood gala. Rather, I wanted to make a difference in the UFO research field, and in August of 1996, I began to try. I ended up giving myself the “member of the UFO community” badge. I hope then, as I do now, that no one minded.
What began as a hobby quickly morphed into a large part of my life. My now long-time friends in the UFO field, which includes Stanton Friedman, John Schuessler, Ted Phillips, Dr. Roger Leir, Larry Bryant, Bill Birnes and quite a few others, showed me the value and power of the UFO Community. They welcomed me in, probably unclear about what a fifteen year old kid was doing harassing the government, but they ‘let me stay.’
More than twelve years later, I am still proud to call these fine researchers my friends, and I am continually impressed by their tenacity, dedication and overall passion for this field.
These qualities displayed by some of the top names in the UFO Community motivate me to continue my work, and it also further solidifies my dedication to it. I have devoted a large portion of my life to maintaining what has become the largest government document database in the world called The Black Vault. And I realized early on, that the power of the internet was far beyond any of our wildest imaginations, and bigger than we can ever really picture.
Sites like Wikipedia, in my opinion, display this great power. For those of you who are not familiar with the site, it is a free, online dictionary, where writers, researchers and contributors from all over the world can add, edit and delete pages in the database – ultimately creating the largest, most up-to-date encyclopedia, on the planet.
You would think that there would be extensive pages on the Paranormal, in-depth coverage of UFO material, current cases, etc. But, to my surprise, when I tried to add this material a few years ago, my material was deleted. Without going into a long explanation on why, they felt links to The Black Vault, in addition to the extra material I would add to the encyclopedia project (all sourced and verifiable material) was considered spam and self-serving… and therefore it was expunged. This was quite a frustrating situation when I was adding to the encyclopedia entry, and not just “adding links!”
So I decided to bring the power of Wikipedia to the UFO Community, and designed The Black Vault Encyclopedia Project – a database devoted to the paranormal, with a strong emphasis on UFO evidence, case files, photographs, videos and more. It runs on the SAME engine as that of Wikipedia – but there is only one difference. This database is for us… the UFO community.
It took a couple of years to get all the features implemented, but am now operating in full force. To summarize this project, any researcher, MUFON certified field investigator, or volunteer, can logon, create pages, edit current material, add categories, publish evidence, upload photographs, integrate videos, and much more.
This allows for the UFO Community to come together – something I think some out there have forgotten the meaning of. We are working on this in a collaborative and hopefully FRIENDLY effort. One of the first organizations that saw the power of this resource was not surprisingly, MUFON. After scanning thousands of pages of material through their Pandora Project, MUFON and The Black Vault joined “digital hands” to bring these scanned pages to the internet, for the world to download. At the writing of this article, more than 23,000 people have logged on to download files from The MUFON Archive, and more than 2.2 million pages have been download from the Encyclopedia itself.
Since MUFON gave their permission to host this archive, along with integrate case files from their CMS system, others are coming forward to add their collections. Most recently, Phyllis Budinger, research analyst who has become well known for her scientific analyses of UFO/Paranormal related evidence, has begun uploading her thorough research files to the Encyclopedia Project. This includes the analysis of Betty Hill’s dress, residue from a UFO encounter, and even soil analysis from samples taken after the Delphos, Kansas incident.
It is my humble opinion that The Black Vault Encyclopedia Project could revolutionize UFO research in the 21st century. With no membership fees, no advertisements to look at, and no overused ‘delete’ keys, this resource is available to everyone who is reading this article.
It may sound, and at times, even look difficult to use. But, with a little bit of practice, testing, and playing with the site, a few simple codes will make a page look outstanding. And it really is simple!
To cite a few ideas that this database could be used for, is already evident in two of the biggest sections I already created. First, and fairly self explanatory, is the UFO Newspaper Clippings, which archives UFO articles appearing in the media throughout the globe. Stretching back decades, these clippings will forever be available on this archive, and fully searchable through an easy to use interface. But another section which has grown quite large is the UFO Case Files section.
Integrating case files from the MUFON CMS system (used with permission), UFO Casebook reports (used with permission), and a few other resources – this section alone could grow into the largest single database of UFO encounters in the world.
Visual evidence can be uploaded into the pages as well. Through an online form in the Encyclopedia Project, anyone can upload high resolution photographs and images, which are automatically processed into the system. High resolution images stay high resolution so investigators can download the best version available for analysis.
Also recently launched, is another powerful tool that can be integrated into the UFO case file listings. If there is video of the sighting… the eyewitness or the investigator can upload high-resolution, and even high-definition, video to The Black Vault TV website. Unlike sites like Youtube and Google, the quality is not highly compressed, and it stays full resolution. A very powerful tool when working with sometimes grainy or low quality video; making it worse doesn’t help.
And lastly, I put out the offer that some may not have the time or the computer to put this material online -- so I extend the offer to do it for you. Files can be donated to be put online, and shipped over to my location. Then, I will scan them and get them onto the internet. Anyone wanting to do this, please e-mail me directly at email@example.com.
So the bottom line, is the infrastructure exists for this to become one of the strongest tools for UFO research, investigation and ultimately dissemination. Since there is not a single advertisement, no one profits off of the posting of this material.
The goal is to get hundreds, if not thousands, of researchers, investigators, and volunteers to join The Black Vault Encyclopedia Project, and help expand the different sections that are already blossoming. I need your help to make this site the best it can be, and hope you will consider coming aboard.
The possibilities – are endless.

My father, Stephen J. Short, passed away last year (2008) at age 91. He was a very honest man and an aviation pioneer who also trained as a control tower operator.
While working in a chemical plant in 1952, he and several others had a very good sighting of a domed UFO and a second sighting 7 months later of two identical craft.
In his own words:
"This UFO (similar to Billy Meier) is similar to the one I saw in May, 1951, at Torrance, California. It came from the west over the Pacific and flew east over Artesia Blvd. at about 4,000 ft. altitude at an estimated speed of near 1,000 mph based on the time it was in sight and a 4 miles per inch sectional chart I had at the time.
It was brick red on top, bright silver on bottom, and about 100 ft. in diameter.
The craft flew with a slight oscillating motion.
In January 1952, at Garden Grove, California, I saw two more like it. They came in from the east, and when directly overhead made a 90 degree to the north both traveling somewhat slower than the first sighting.
Weather on both days was CAVU altitude about 7,000 feet."
The picture he selected as closest was a discredited Billy Meier, so I drew up my own version.
Attached is his photo taken in 1935 which you may use as well as his name.

Navy Officer Has UFO 'Close Encounter' along Secluded CA Highway
An off duty Navy petty officer second class had just gotten off duty at California's then Naval Air Station Miramar when his vehicle suddenly shut off along a dark and secluded piece of Interstate 15.
As the man retrieved a gas can from his trunk for what could be a long walk into nearby Kearny Mesa - he hears an unusual sound - "a release of air" - that draws his attention into the darkness on the other side of the four-lane highway. He sees "an object of some type that is long, low and extremely streamlined and silohutted." The year is 1971.
Following is his original account of the incident. Only minor editing changes were completed.
In 1971, I had a close encounter that was later explained to me was a "Close Encounter of The Second Kind". My understanding is that a sighting in the sky is an encounter of the first kind, an encounter where the craft has touched down within close range is the second kind and an encounter where there is physical contact is the third kind, such as the movie years ago.
Many years prior to the movie, I was on my way home after getting off duty from the Naval Station at Miramar, which is now a Marine Corp Air Station, in San Diego. The year is 1971, it is about 3:00 a.m. there is no traffic and I am headed down interstate 15 and my car is running on gas fumes.
About 5 miles from my destination, the vehicle suddenly shuts off and I coast over to the side of the road. I am thinking I am out of gas and would have to walk the rest of the way into the next surburb of Kearny Mesa. I get out of the car and there is no traffic and it is very dark with only a little moonlight. I get a 5 gallon red military issue gas can out of the trunk and stand there trying to figure out what to do. I was flat broke and it was still a week before payday.
As I look North and South on the Interstate, not a soul can be seen.
A craft silently lands
Still looking South as I stand there by the driver side of the door, I hear a release of air as if it is coming from a high pressure nozzle, and I hear gravel crunching like something heavy is pressing it down. I look across the Interstate which in 1971 was only four lanes and see an object of some type that is long, low and extremely streamlined and silohutted.
I keep looking because I was wondering how something could be there when it was not there when I got out of the car and as dark as it was, I never saw any lights or heard any other car engines.
At this time, I was still thinking I was looking at an extremely long car kind of like a limousine, but it was much longer. There was total silence and no movement from the vehicle or on the Interstate.
Panic took over when I saw that the vehicle was sitting flush on the ground and their were no tires, plus, I could see that it had opaque silver type windows that were paneled, but no other things like door handles or anything that could make it a car.
My mind starting putting together the fact that this was no car and the noise I heard earlier was the craft settling down about 40 yards across the Interstate from me.
I was scared to death at this point, and jumped into the car. The only thing I could think of was getting out of there before something came out of the craft.
Even though I thought the car would not start, I turned the key and it started and I put it into gear and took off.
When I got home, my family got scared because I was in tears and really scared. They had never seen me in this shape before and it frightened them. I told them what I had seen and they believed me, because they knew I was too terrified to make it up.
Return to the scene
The following morning, I went to my neighbor's house and asked him to go back with me. We tried the car, but it would not start, it was out of gas. We borrowed money from other neighbors and went back to where the incident occurred. We only saw a slight indentation in the gravel where something had been.
I was traumatized by the event and had trouble sleeping for a long time after that. I still cannot sleep with my back to a door. When it first happened, I was so shook up, that I talked to doctors who recommended that I undergo hypnosis to digress to the night of the incident.
They kept asking me exactly how long was I there that night and to me it only seemed like a few minutes from start to finish. Others say that I could have been there longer and just do not know it and may have seen more than what I thought.
I never underwent the hypnosis, because I do not want to know anymore than what I already know. I know what I saw that night and it will haunt me the rest of my life.
Blemish appears on lower calf
Later that year, a blemish appeared on the left inside of my lower calf above the ankle. It is about the size of a dime and it has never gone away. Right in the center is a little black dot surrounded by a lighter tan circle. I thought it was some type of skin cancer and went in for a check up, the doctors say no, they have no idea what it is other than a blemish and not to be concerned.
Well, I am concerned because I do not know really how long I was there and what happened from the time I stopped to the time I left. I could be from the encounter, but I have no idea.
I have seen objects from time to time since then, but they have been in the sky and usually others report them. I have not ever had another close encounter and really do not want to.
Thanks for listening, it is good to vent that story from time to time. I just look forward to the day when all of us can be validated when a sighting beyond comparison will take place and it cannot be disputed.
The craft was a grayish type color and very smooth in appearance. The shape was very aerodynamic with the length being about 18-20 ft. The height was about 6ft. from the bottom of the craft to the top of the slightly dome-shaped top in the center of the craft.
There was also what looked like some type of windows or pane devices that were very dark, like a really dark tint on a car or presidential vehicle, but it was not glass, it was some other type of alloy.
Although the vehicle looked really light in weight, it had to be heavy, because it made the gravel crunch as it settled on the shoulder on the side of the roadway.
I was standing by the 1968 Plymouth Fury, light blue, on the southside of the interstate, looking across the interstate to the east, that is the direction I heard the escaping rush of air and heard the gravel crunching.
UCSD has an observatory of some type now in the area near the sighting. At the time I was there in 1971, a red & white checkered water tank was in the field close by the interstate.

California-Oval, Silver Object
03-30-09-San Francisco-Let me begin by saying I am NOT crazy. I am very normal. With that said, yesterday (March 30, 2009) I was on CA-Highway 280 going southbound. The sky was blue and the sun was shining. People from the Bay Area would agree that you see some very beautiful scenery on 280.
So, at around 12:30 PM, I was admiring how clear the sky was and couldn't help but notice a strange oval shaped, silver... thing in the sky! I had to rub my eyes to confirm that I wasn't delusional and I looked at my windshield to see if it was dirty. I had washed it the day before.
Swerving into the right and left lanes attempting to get a good look, I squinted my eyes and it definitely wasn't an airplane or large bird. After I became aware of my erratic driving, I got it together and tried to peek again.

03-10-09-On 03-10-09, roughly 11:30-11:40 pm, I was driving East on US Route 64. As I approached the first exit for Nashville, (NC), I noticed an object hovering along, as if following, ALT US 64. This object was around 75-100 feet above the ground. I had thought it was maybe a military helicopter, but I began to think differently when I actually noticed the lights.
I noticed that it did have 3 visible lights. Two red lights toward what appeared to be the rear, and a bright white light near the front. It was about 200-300 yards from me. I judged the size of the object to be between 40-50 feet wide between all three lights. I knew by then, that this was not a helicopter.
The object proceeded to hover over US Route 64 in a South-Southeast direction. As I approached the exit, I watched it disappear behind a small grove of trees, then came back into view. It continued to move in the same direction until it stopped and began to hover near a small shopping center.
I stopped my truck (Tractor-trailer) on the off ramp and turned off the engine, then got out to observe the object. It made no sound. (Not even a humming or whirring sound.)
The lights from the parking lot only slightly illuminated the object. I could barely make out a shape. It did look like a chevron shape, only thicker that made it look almost like a triangular shape. Randall-www.ufocasebook.com
03-31-09-I was driving home from Bend, to Burns, Oregon, out in the Outback. There was an orange, reddish, as bright as day looking sphere, about thirty miles out to the left of my car as I was driving.
It stayed in the same spot for about a minute and then disappeared. Then it reappeared about five miles from my car at an altitude of about nine or ten thousand feet. It moved at a northeast direction before disappearing again.
Five minutes later it reappeared about five miles away in the front of my car at about the same altitude. At the same altitude, the sphere moved consistently with my vehicle before shooting off to the south and disappearing. During the encounter my car radio went dead. Washington-Two Red/Orange Lights
03-26-09-Went out to look at the sky as usual, but felt compelled to go out at 10:30 pm
for some reason. I walked out to the edge of my fence (about 30' from my back
door) and looked up toward the east. I saw the stars, then all at
once, two reddish/orange oval shaped objects appeared.
They flew in a straight line from south to north for about 15 seconds and disappeared into nothing!
There was no sound. The lights were a dull reddish/orange and didn't seem to
emit any other light around them except to themselves. They appeared out of
total darkness... just all at once, and were visible for only a few seconds before
I've never seen anything like these lights. I couldn't tell if they were attached to each other, but they were going the exact same speed and one was a little to the side of the other. I feel so blessed to have seen
these awesome lights! I just stood there in total disbelief, feeling in my heart
these were star ships from somewhere else!
If I never see additional lights like these in my lifetime I will still be happy to

United Kingdom-10-15 Bright Objects
March, 2009-Lincoln. Saw 10 to 15 star bright objects heading across Lincoln, UK. They were shimmering and appeared linear in part. The objects were heading north pretty much exactly, and not passing over the centre of town but to the West of the city.
One of the objects stopped and hung for about five minutes then disappeared. Must have been very high up, as there was a lot of east-west air traffic this afternoon and these seemed to be up there with it. Wind direction as far as I could check was westerly and these were definately not going in that direction.
We viewed from the Brayford in Lincoln and the objects were going to the cathedral from there. I viewed this with a friend and pointed it out to someone who was with some other people.
