Unknown Objects, Jets Reported over Onaway, Michigan
UFO Depiction
Published: 3:15 AM 5/10/2013

Onaway, Michigan - 05-08-13

My wife and I stepped on south-facing deck for a puff on a cigarette. We both quit months ago, and we’re cheating!

My wife said; "Is that a satellite pointing to a bright star in between small round clouds?" I said "No, that’s a star, the clouds are moving. Hold up your finger, just below the star and you'll see it's not moving."

I looked straight up and in between the clouds there were 3 small clusters of lights in a triangle shape. I told my wife, "Look, what’s that?"

My first thought was that it was 3 jets in a real tight formation. I said they must be going to Afghanistan. I don't know if that's the way, but that's what my first thought was, military.

The lights were a dim red, not blinking or anything. I couldn't tell the speed as the little round clouds covered the lights, 0f course!

For the 5 or 6 seconds I did observe the lights, they didn't appear to be moving very fast. My assumption was that they were going due north so I turned around looking straight up over the house, waiting for a break in the clouds.

While I was looking straight up, kind of scanning above, my wife said, "Look." She was behind me looking over me and to the northeast.

Out of the clouds came a bright solid, not blinking light heading to the southeast, fast. I looked at that then back up over the house to see the two, white blinking lights of two jets that appeared to be in pursuit of the object.

The object went out of sight to the southeast while I was still watching the jets, heading the same way. The clouds broke enough and I looked at the right time to see the jets go from heading due north and turn to the southeast.

Now, I'm not sure if I even saw the jets when I first saw the triangle shape lights. They were, I'm guessing to the south, obscured by the small broken clouds.

The time was 9.47 PM May 8. I called The National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington, and TV 7@4 News.

No one else had yet called. Today, the 9th, Thursday, I heard of other people seeing the same event. I'm still waiting to hear the other accounts.

Husband/Wife See Helicopter Chasing UFO in Florida
UFO Depiction
Published: 4:27 PM 5/11/2013

Cocoa, Florida - 05-07-13

At about 10 pm that evening, the wife and I had just stepped out front of our house to let the dogs out when we heard the sound of a helicopter approaching from the east.

When the sound from the helicopter grew increasingly louder, we quickly realized that it was flying extremely low over our moderately populated neighborhood.

We rushed out to the driveway to witness a "blacked-out"(it did have its red and green tail lights on) military style helicopter in close pursuit of what can only be described as a small (maybe half the size of the helicopter), quiet, translucent craft with what appeared to be a dimly lit orange off-center light.

We were able to see the edges of this "craft,” and can best describe it as maybe teardrop in shape.

In about 30 seconds time, we watched these two vehicles move in a straight line trajectory, from east to west, across the night sky and out of our line of sight.

My immediate thought was that what we had just witnessed was clearly an extraterrestrial vehicle being chased/followed by a military aircraft.

As I’m sure you can imagine, we were both in utter shock and amazement and we’ve spent the last 24 hours scouring the news/internet for any info on this "event.”

So far, we haven’t seen anyone else report this "event,” but I can’t imagine that we were the only ones to have witnessed this happen due to how low and loud this helicopter was.

Wedge-shaped Object Seen over Austin, Texas
UFO Depiction
Published: 3:21 AM 5/10/2013

Austin, Texas - 05-08-13

I was lounging in my hot tub around 10:00 PM, looking up at the night sky as I often do, after an evening run.

I noticed movement from the south in the sky, I was facing west in the tub. I looked and quickly saw what at first I thought was a high-power search light tracing along the bottom of the clouds.

But almost right away I noticed that there WERE no clouds in the sky at that time.

This of course startled and interested me so I sprang up and watched as this thing pass directly overhead, I’m guessing at about 2,000 ft., traveling exactly from the south to the north.

There was a very deliberate motion, no wavering. As I watched it go by I noticed it was very clearly wedge-shaped and translucent-white, like the color of a cloud almost.

But again, there were no clouds. To describe the shape, it was very much shaped like an Army Private Chevron arm stripe; angular and crisp; almost exactly the same angle and width proportions of a chevron stripe in fact.

It made no sound that I could hear (I had one low-power hot tub jet on; I couldn’t turn it off since the tub was in filter mode, dang it).

I didn’t notice any lights on it, just a very slight glow to the whole shape. I waited and watched for another 10 minutes for a search light to cross the sky, but none did.

A few wispy clouds drifted by while I was waiting - if there was a search light it would have lit those up. No video or pics unfortunately.

1948 UFO Sighting Submitted by Reader
UFO Depiction
Published: 10:34 AM 5/3/2013

1948 - Area covered Kentucky to Dayton, Ohio and in Hamilton as well. If they were five miles or so apart, that would have been 20 to 25 craft.

Maybe I have to tell you the story behind what I sent you yesterday. The thing must have started before six PM on Friday or Saturday night, as I'm not sure of the date, I'm sure of what happened next.

My Mother was cleaning up after supper, my Father was reading the paper, and I was sitting in front of the radio.

At six PM came the world news, then the local Cincinnati news, then a bit about someone's product and dead space for about 30 seconds.

When the person came back on he said "If you would like to see an unusual display of Northern Lights step out side and have a look." I ask my Mother if I could go look and she said yes, but put your jacket on; it's cold out side.

Now this is what I did and what I saw that night. The front door faced north and as I stepped out I saw that the street lights were on. I went down the steps, turned to the east, and the first thing I saw was a pyramid of light over a very large field that was lit up like they are today.

One thing was that the grass looked greener then normal, had to be the frequency of the light. If you go to Google Earth and input ( 1741 Kahn Avenue Hamilton,Ohio) you can see the house and the field, the field now has a new school in it.

The next thing I saw was a search light about 12" in diameter on what must have been my end of a long craft, this light was unlike anything I ever saw.

I have to call it a tube light because where the light would stop the end of the light was there, they must have been having problems with it because it looked as if someone would hit it and it would jump out and after a few seconds it would come back to the source. This happened three or four times.

Then someone fixed it and it went down the back of the houses north of me on Kahn and Parish Avenues. It was very bright and very white, anything in front of it was black.

This craft was about 3500 to 4000 feet up and about 2 to 300 feet to the east of me. I could not see the craft; only the searchlight on it, no sound at all.

Now in the sky to the north and east of me were a total of four more craft in all. I could see where the lights were. By this time, I had been looking at this display for about five minutes.

When I heard voices, they were saying this was the end of the earth. Now at 1771 Kahn Avenue was a church and about 6 or 8 kids that ended up looking in the window at them, after a short time we all went home.

I don't have the date, but the weather that night was cool; 45-50, some clouds, no wind, street lights were on at 6:30. There were some lights in the sky to the west at that time.

On the Monday after, the weather was overcast, and you could see the sun behind the clouds. When we got home from school on Monday, the newspaper was on the porch, and this is what I can remember about it; first column, a picture, second column, this what it said; "the lights you saw in the sky over the weekend were tests from Wright Field and Ft.Knox."

There was more, but this is what stuck in my head. I have been told that this same type of thing happened to the west and east of me. This UFO story needs to be told now just to show how dumb we were then.

I'm 81, have COPD, and not sure about my time here, so if you would like other info I have call me.

P.S.June 25, 1948, was the date of the UFO in Hamilton, Ohio. June 25 or 26 jn the Cincinnati paper you should find a UFO report.

1996 - Pilot Encounters Giant Pyramid-shaped UFO in Brazil
UFO Depiction
Published: 12:41 PM 5/7/2013

Location: Pelotas, Brazil - Date: October 5, 1996

Brazilian pilot Haroldo Westendorf, 39, was flying over Pelotas when he encountered an enormous pyramid or cone-shaped UFO, with 8-10 sides; it was 100 meters in diameter and 70 meters high.

Westendorf was able to fly around the base of the object three times, at one point coming as close as 40 meters. Then, out of an opening at the top of the craft, a smaller classic disc-shaped UFO emerged and flew off at tremendous speed.

Three air traffic controllers and others on the ground also witnessed the event.

Perhaps the most impressive UFO story told during the recent Brazilian World UFO Forum was that of Haraldo Westendorf, who made news headlines a year ago when he allegedly flew his private plane within a few dozen meters of an enormous unidentified flying object.

Westendorf is 40 years old, a father of three children and a successful businessman. He is also an avid private pilot rated for acrobatic flying.

The following account is based directly on his one-hour presentation at the Brazilian UFO conference, which included several detailed illustrations.

Westendorf says he took off in his single-engine Piper Apache [correction: the plane was actually an Embraer EMB-712, the Brazilian version of the Piper Cherokee Archer II] from the city of Pelotas near the southernmost tip of Brazil on the morning of November 5, 1996.

It was to be a routine recreational flight of the kind he takes for fun whenever time allows.

On this occasion, he had been in the air only about 12 minutes and was flying at an altitude of 5,000 feet over a large lake some five miles southeast of Pelotas when he saw ahead of him an enormous aerial object. The time was about 10:30 a.m.

He radioed the Pelotas tower to learn if they could see the object from the ground. They confirmed that the object was visible to them and asked him for a close-range report.

Westendorf then decided to fly as close as he could.

Westendorf emphasizes that he did not believe in UFOs and says this accounts for his initial willingness to fly close to the object. He didn't know he might be in danger.

When he got close to the object, he realized that in his twenty years of piloting experience he had never seen or heard of anything like it.

Since he had done stunt training in the United States and had also flown in France, he had become acquainted with some very advanced and exotic aircraft. But he knew that this was not an airplane.

Westendorf showed several detailed color drawings of the object, with his own plane drawn to scale alongside it. He describes the object as a faceted cone, flat on the bottom with a rounded point on top.

On each of the eight or ten sloping side panels were three large bulges, like triangle-shaped bay windows on the side of a house -- but they did not look like windows. The entire surface was brown in color.

The structure was about 70 meters (225 feet) high and about 100 meters (325 feet) in diameter, big enough to fill nearly an entire soccer field if landed. His own plane, less than 6 meters wide, was tiny by comparison.

Westendorf says he spent about 12 to 14 minutes in close proximity to the object, trying to see as much as he could. Although the Pelotas air tower does not have radar, he believes the airport radar at Curitiba (nearly 450 nautical miles northeast of his position) tracked the whole encounter.

However, officials at Curitiba deny this.

The object was spinning around slowly and moving southeast toward the nearby seacoast at a speed of about 60 nautical miles per hour. Westendorf managed to fly entirely around the base of the object three times.

At one point, he says, his wingtip came within about 40 meters of the object.

After his third lap around the object, Westendorf noticed that the rounded top seemed to disappear, leaving what looked like an open hole at the top.

Then he saw, emerging from inside the object, a classic flying saucer. It rose sideways, its long axis vertical until it cleared the top of the larger object, then tipped down to assume its normal orientation and departed at tremendous speed.

Westendorf said that this saucer was about 10 meters in diameter, or nearly twice as wide as his own plane, and he thinks it flew away at more than Mach 10. The saucer showed no indication of noticing Westendorf's presence nearby.

As soon as the saucer disappeared, Westendorf decided to try to fly over the top of the object. Brazilian media later reported that he wanted to fly his plane into the interior of the object, but he says he never even considered that.

He only hoped for a peek through the opening.

To get more altitude, he flew his plane several hundred meters away from the object, turned around and began a steep climb. He noticed that the object was now rotating much faster.

Then he saw brilliant beams of red light shoot from the top of the object toward the sky. He quickly abandoned his plan to fly over the top.

Then, to his amazement, the object rose straight up at tremendous speed. For the first time, Westendorf was scared, because he believed the object's rapid acceleration might produce a shock wave of turbulence that could overwhelm his own plane.

As a trained pilot, he knew that air traffic controllers recommend staying at least three minutes behind a large aircraft to avoid such turbulence.

He estimated that the unidentified object probably weighed at least three times as much as a 747 jumbo jet, so its shock wave should be huge -- and he was only a few hundred meters away.

He quickly began emergency procedures in case his plane went into a spin or a stall. But to his surprise, he did not encounter any turbulence.
