Argentina: “Synchronized UFOs” Over the Sanborombón River

By Sebastian Aranguren

An amateur fisherman witnessed the maneuvers of three unidentified objects over the banks of the Samborombón River near the town of Ferrari, Buenos Aires.

Researchers consider this event important due to the synchronization of the UFOs movements, which according to the protagonist of the extraordinary adventure, even acted as if aware of his lonely presence in the darkness of the early morning hours.

The episode, investigated by the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogia (FAO) took place on April 3, 2010, when Sergio Asselborn, a veterinarian from the city of Quilmes, was engaged in one of his hobbies – fishing – in a spot chosen for many years: the Samborombón River, at a spot located over an iron bridge some 30 km from National Highway 2.

It was a two o’clock in the morning when Asselborn, as the veterinarian told FAO researchers, underwent a life-changing experience: a buzzing sound similar to that of a beehive prompted him to look up, causing him to see something he had never seen in many years of fishing trips to the site.

A plate-shaped UFO was in the sky, surrounded by small orange and red lights that outlined its contour.

If something drew the witness’ attention, it was that the object was coming toward him, stopping in a series of repetitive movements that lasted approximately half an hour.

Another element was added after this time period: a second triangular object assumed a vertical position to the left of the first UFO, firing off a series of luminous signals that Asselborn described as bursts, as a prelude to what would be a sudden departure into the dark of the night.

However, there was still more: a third UFO, with a structure similar to the first, appeared on the scene and was still in the sky, within the witness’s visual field.

It remained at some 1,500 feet over Asselborn’s position and flew over the countryside, rising and falling until it vanished behind a mill and a eucalyptus forest.

From that moment onward, the fisherman was entranced by the first UFO, which never ceased to be visible to the witness, who got into his car and watched the slow maneuvers of the object for two hours, after which it approached his vehicle as though getting ready to observe him.

Thus, after being stationary for five minutes, the object acquired sudden speed, vanishing into the southeast, turning into a small luminous dot, followed by the second of the objects that was part of the phenomenon and which had been outside the fisherman’s field of vision for the moment.

The mysterious spectacle ended nearly at daybreak.

Days later, Asselborn contacted members of the FAO, and a week later, a team consisting of Luis Burgos, Fernando Mengui, Miguel Peralta and Roberto Castillo combed the area, which is a UFO hotspot.

So many cases have occurred here over the past 50 years that Burgos himself has been moved to refer to it as “the Argentinean nest.”

Numerous Unknown Objects Seen/Photographed over North Carolina
UFO over North Carolina
Published: 12:15 PM 5/20/2011

North Carolina - 05-17-11

First off, I’m on the east coast beach facing east-southeast, almost at the North/South Carolina border.

It’s a full moon tomorrow (but supposed to be a washout here, so I went to the beach tonight to take pictures).

I usually go to the beach on full moons, eclipses, storms, hurricanes, water spouts and meteor showers to get some awesome photos.

Tonight was the same; I had my family with me (mom, brother, and 2 daughters).

There were plenty of other people on the beach as well; it was a warm, clear summer night after all.

Then as I was holding the shutter down with my bulb setting on my camera, I was staring over the horizon, when suddenly 2 orange orbs appeared.

They quickly dissolved (I don't know how else to describe it), and I tried to move my camera to catch them, and suddenly another one appeared, and faded just as quickly.

But I caught it on my camera faintly. I continued taking photos with long shutter in hopes of catching more of these "orbs," and I caught 2 in my photos.

But there were more, I just missed them (had the camera pointing slightly off, dang it!)

At this point everyone was talking about them. Some people left because they were scared it was going to crash and cause a huge wave.

Others said "it’s like clover field," and most just stayed and watched on in amazement.

These orbs happened several times. The first 2 appeared from up in the sky like someone throwing a glowing bouncy ball directly at you, they had no tail almost.

Then faded into existence, got super bright, and then faded back out in a matter of seconds.

Two of them were right beside each other (left one first, then the right one and then went away at the same time.), then they were gone and a 3rd one appeared to the left of the other two.

About 20 minutes after that, another one appeared, only larger than any of the previous three.

There was no noise other than the ocean.

Shortly after that, 3 appeared at the same time, only SUPER close, like a plane overhead, but still no noise.

Then one final one was faint in the distance. Everyone was glued to the sky. About 30-45 minutes after the last orb was seen, military helicopters flew in from the south and north.

We heard them coming. They paralleled the coast with lights on as normal. Then the lights stopped, we could still hear them, but could not see them in the dark. It gave everyone there an eerie, uneasy feeling.

I asked the local news, but they had no word of anything going on off shore tonight. I've lived near marine and army bases my entire life, and I know what planes are like.

I can tell you the type of plane just by the sound usually. I know what lights are for planes and which are for helicopters.

I know what kind of things they do during practices. These lights were not anything that are traditional.

If I had to guess, I’d say ball lightning, a meteor falling at a straight angle to us, giving it a small tail and almost no sense of falling or a UFO.

I have no idea what they are though, I’m just guessing blindly. The local news deemed it at "space junk".

Law Enforcement Officer Observes Translucent Object in Illinois
Published: 11:40 AM 5/16/2011

Illinois - 05-04-11

I arrived home at 1:15 am. I live in the country and actively search the night skies with both Gen III night vision and IR cameras.

My daughter and I have made one report on MUFON for a sighting a couple of years ago. We have actively seen unexplained craft in our night skies ranging from 1 very large diamond-shaped craft to other unexplained high altitude craft.

My background is former military and active law enforcement.

On this evening as I said I just returned home and since the skies were clear, I got out the night scope and spent some time looking up.

Within just about 2 minutes of searching, a glowing translucent white orb or sphere about the size of a beach ball floated between my out building and house.

The sphere was only about 40 feet in the air. It was not a bird or owl or bat. Its velocity was slow and deliberate.

You could almost see through the sphere, and it glowed more on the outer edges of its outline. I quickly pulled the scope down and looked right above me to try to see it.

It could not be seen with the naked eye at night. I reacquired it in the scope and continued to observe it floating directly over my neighbor’s home, briefly pausing and then continuing on to the next neighbor’s roof top again pausing.

I lost sight of it within about 3 or 4 minutes. I made several attempts to reposition myself to locate it but could not.

As I stated this was not a bird or other flying animal. The thing I remember just before I saw the object was I have a pen of game birds which roost at night.

Just before I saw the object, my birds became very active in the pen. It made me wonder if a critter or coyote might be near them, at that moment the sphere became visible to me overhead as I was pointing the scope back near the pen to see what got them going.

I stated I actively search the night skies since we had our first spotting a couple of years ago and have seen lots of things in the sky that defy logic and are unexplainable.

This event, to me was alarming as it seemed to be intelligently and briefly making stops over our homes in a grid pattern.

Since that night I have experiences tremendous nightmares. I guess this one gave me the spooks.

1977- Multiple Witnesses See UFO Hover over Pier in Michigan
Published: 2:33 PM 5/20/2011

Michigan - 1977

In the Summer of 1977, in Oscoda, Michigan, I was downtown at the park on Lake Huron.

I was with my friend Robbie around 10:00 PM, playing on the swings, when we noticed an aircraft coming towards us.

At first, we could only see the lights, but then as the object came closer, we thought we were seeing a jet landing at Wurtsmith AFB.

As it came even closer, we could see that it was not a jet, but a large, black object, the size of a three bedroom house.

The it stopped and floated there. It was above the fishing pier about a 100 feet in the air.

When the object stopped, we noticed it made no sound. Being frightened, we ran into these six foot diameter concrete pipes and watched the object from there.

The object was jet black with rotating and glowing, white lights which pulsated.

It stayed motionless for about an hour, then all of a sudden, it moved upward and took off extremely fast towards Canada.

The object was witnessed by at least three other people besides myself. The weather was clear and warm, a beautiful summer night, with no moon.

I was told that the local Police called the base to ask them if the object was theirs, but they said they had nothing on radar, and when they sent two jets to investigate, the object took off so fast across the lake.

It was gone within seconds, and the official report said it was a weather balloon, however I was there, it was not a balloon, it left too quickly.

Crop Circles Appearing in Travis County?
One crop circle encompasses five acres of a wheat field at the intersection of FM 973 and Gregg Lane. However, its origin is not mysterious. It is the work of nationally recognized artist Stan Herd
Published: May 19, 2011 at 6:36 PM

Crop circles make you think of science fiction, Hollywood films, and even UFOs. Now a crop circle has shown up in Travis County near Manor.

The wheat field provides a golden landscape. However, the serene setting means hard work for Herd. He is getting his hands dirty to make a masterpiece.

The wheat field is Herd’s canvas, and a weed eater is his paintbrush. Tractors plow the land into broad brushstrokes.

Herd has been creating crop circles for 30 years and calls it “Earthwork.” He digs, plows, and manipulates acres of land to turn it into art. Herd is the son of a farmer.

“I've reconnected with my roots to make art on the land,” Herd said.

Crop circles fascinate the world. They headline Hollywood movies, and mysteriously appear with no explanation in other parts of the world. Herd admits even he does not know how some of them are created.

“I love the fact it's a mystery," Herd said. "I don't know what's going on. Nobody does that kind of work and doesn't take credit for it. I'm just saying.”

Herd's work is no secret. He simply maps out his project on paper, walks the field, and marks it with flags.

“GPS doesn't do much for me. I've got to see it,” Herd said.

Herd is turning the logo for a Belgian Ale called Shock Top into art. A handful of workers are helping Herd on the months-long project. They added limestone and mulch to complete his design.

The project is getting a lot of attention in the Manor community. One man, Thomas Traver, drove to the wheat field to find out what was going on. He lives a half mile from the project, and is now working for Herd. He is between construction jobs, and uses a tractor to plow the field.

“Instead of sitting at home watching soap operas, I'm here working,” Traver said. “I feel like everyone has an artist in them.”

It is difficult to appreciate the collaboration from the ground. KVUE got a sky-high view from above to see the scope of Herd’s work.

The Belgium UFO Wave

UFO photo, Belgium

Of all the reports of UFO sightings, some of the most intriguing ones are those which come in flaps, or waves, have multiple witnesses, and photographs.

One of the most celebrated cases of this type was the Belgian flap which began in November of 1989.

The events of November 29 would be documented by no less than thirty different groups of witnesses, and three separate groups of police officers. All of the reports described a large object flying at low altitude. The craft was of a flat, triangular shape, with lights underneath.

This giant craft made not a sound as it slowly and fearlessly moved across the landscape of Belgium. There was free sharing of information as the Belgian populace tracked this craft as it moved from the town of Liege to the border of the Netherlands and Germany.

This first startling sighting would evolve into a wave over the next several months. On two occasions, a pair of F-16 fighters chased the mysterious object, but to no avail.

On March 30, 1990, a frantic call to military headquarters came from a Belgian national police Captain.

He marveled at a giant triangle passing over and simultaneously two ground radar stations were reporting an object of unknown origin on their screens.

One of these bases was NATO controlled near the city of Glons, southeast of Brussels.

After contacting other radar facilities, they learned that at least four other stations were also reporting the object on their screens. The object was moving across their screens slowly, and failed to send a transponder signal to identify itself.

Two F-16s were ordered to intercept and identify this phenomenon, and one of the jet's radars locked the object in. It appeared as a small diamond on the pilot's screen.

The pilot reported that only a few seconds after locking on the target, the object began to pick up speed, quickly moving out of radar range.

An hour long chase ensued, during which time the F-16s picked up the strange craft's signal two additional times, only to see it fade from view.

The triangular craft seemed to be playing a cat and mouse game, and finally was lost in the night lights of Brussels.

The pilots of the fighters reported that the UFO had made maneuvers at speeds beyond the capability of their technology, and once the radar showed the craft drop from 10,000 to 500 feet in 5 seconds!

Belgium Map

The extraordinary sightings continued for months as the triangular invader was witnessed more than 1,000 times, both day and night. The object dipped low enough to easily be seen with the naked eye, and the event became one of the biggest stories in the Belgian media.

Another unusual occurrence associated with the Belgian flap was the inability to take a clear photograph of it. Many observers had their cameras ready, and took what they thought would be clear images, but when the film was developed, the image was blurred, and the craft's outline was vague at best.

This anomaly was addressed by physics professor Auguste Meessen, who was employed by the Catholic University at Louvin. Meessen's investigation produced a theory that infrared light must be the reason that almost all the images were unclear. To put his theory to test, he exposed film to infrared, then photographed objects in regular light. The results were the same as the photographs of the triangle-shaped UFO.

One good image was finally captured on video tape in April 1990. This image showed the underbelly of the craft with spotlights on the three corners. A still frame from this tape has been seen worldwide, and is a classic UFO photograph.

The Belgium wave has obtained classic status in UFO lore. With over 1,000 witnesses, confirmed radar sightings, plane radar lock-ins, and military confirmations, the fact that an unknown craft moved across the country of Belgium cannot be denied.

The case is also important for its unique information sharing. Civilian and Military officials were forthcoming with the reports, and set a model for others to follow in their pursuit to uncover the mystery behind the UFO enigma.
